    The video not only shows the technicalities involved but also paves the way to real earning. Thank you for sharing.

    awesome ! thanks Helen
    can u do a part 2 to this and show what a proof of this looks like back from Spoonflower - in diff scales - as people use the FAY to check proofs of all their designs - usually at a small scale
    and if so - can you put the design on say a dark background - so we can see how u would check for any white lines (won’t see white lines on white bg - thanks)

      @HelenBradley  Рік тому

      Possibly! But I would be focusing on checking thoroughly before uploading to Spoonflower.

    Can you please do a similar video about preparing illustrator file for Wall Hanging or Tea Towel for Spoonflower? I can not understand their printed out tutorial to do this. Your way of teaching is much better than theirs. Thank you

    Thank you so much for this tutorial Helen. It has helped me a lot. The only one thing I don't understand is what determines the size you choose to make your pattern when exporting. Would it not be best to make it the largest size possible? I didn't fully understand that bit. Excellent video though!

      That’s a good question. When you go to Spoonflower it uses a dpi of 150 as the minimum. So you’ll need to make sure that your pattern is at least that size so that you meet the Spoonflower requirements. As far as ‘why not make it as big as possible?’ there are some issues with that. Firstly you’ll have a really huge file and secondly if things are being scaled down quite a bit because they’re too big then you could compromise quality. It’s better to take a sort of halfway position and make the pattern a little bigger than you think you need to have it but not so big that you’re getting into sort of “stupid” territory. I hope this helps?

    Hi Helen, thank you so much for sharing this! I am having trouble with a white line around my pattern when I use this method. Any idea what I might be doing incorrectly? Thank you🤗

    Hi Helen. Thanks for this class, glad I found you.
    I have 2 questions if ok to ask.
    1. So you done have to upload a square swatch to Spoonflower?
    2. If i design in a half drop pattern and upload to Spoonflower the proof shows it not seemless, why does that happen?
    Thanks Vicki

      Hi there, great questions.
      1 No, you don't have to upload a square swatch. You must upload a seamless swatch.
      2 Check out this video, it might help: ua-cam.com/video/7suDPd-K0xw/v-deo.html

    Hi, I wanted to ask you how should I do to learn English through movies, TV series and songs, what methods should I apply, how should I approach these tools and how can I put them into practice? Ditto for books/audiobooks/podcasts and videos on youtube, where should I start if I'm at zero? Nb: I'm a 20-year-old boy and I haven't decided which path to take yet but at the moment I'm more oriented towards languages and I would also like to go and live in England○

    Helen - me again 😊 -
    just curious - when u make the pattern to begin with in illustrator -do u make the bg rectangle (say its a dark color) bigger than the bounding box/artboard - to obscure any white lines that might show -
    on a mission here to not have to keep checking Spoonflower proofs if I goof - as rechecking for white lines might get a bit spendy, lol😂

    • @HelenBradley
      @HelenBradley  Рік тому

      Hi there. I don't do this, because I want to see white lines and fix them. If you need to test your pattern, look at this video: ua-cam.com/users/shortsYtCgeHlJsqI
      It is a free online checker that you can use to pre-test your patterns - if they look ok there, you can be "pretty confident" that they will be ok on Spoonflower and you won't be wasting money.
      It can also be done in Photoshop if you have that installed.

    How do i take a design that i made. Then center it on spoonflower to where the design i made fits the whole 2 yards i would like. Not repeat a pattern. I just want one design to fit the whole yard or 2 yards

    • @HelenBradley
      @HelenBradley  4 місяці тому

      Make a design that is the 2 yards shape. Then upload it to Spoonflower. I do this occasionally by uploading a large image to Spoonflower sized to meet the size I want it printed out. It’s a cheap way of getting custom printed fabric.

      Sorduğun için teşekkürler. Çok üzgünüm. Bunu inceledim ve Türkçe şu anda UA-cam'un otomatik olarak çevirebileceği bir dil değil. İnşallah ileride değişir. ÇOK Türk abonem var ve videolarıma çeviri alamadığınız için gerçekten üzülüyorum.
