Got to bring one of those things to Southwest Florida when we're experiencing a hurricane. Wouldn't that have been a hoot during hurricane Ian 🙌😂😂😂😂 I'm originally from New Jersey if I pulled something like this off none of my neighbors would be surprised down here in Cape Coral 😂😂😂😂✌️
I’ve lived in Rotorua my whole life but I recommend that if you ever come to New Zealand again come in the summer time! The sun sets at around 8pm and the sun rises a lot earlier! If you end up going to Queenstown make sure you have a lot of money spare because stuff down there is EXTREMELY expensive 😂😂
We didn't spend a lot of time in Queenstown for that reason. But I agree, summer is where it's act. However, we do enjoy traveling in offseason when there are less crowds and the flights are cheapest
Damn you absolutely aced most of the pronunciations of the Te Reo placenames. Also the Redwoods are actually a pretty popular filming location for local and international tv and movies, so you're not far of with the Star Wars comments. Im lucky enough to go for walks around there 3 or 4 times a week so its always so funny seeing it on youtube.
You guys are the perfect advertisement to the world about why everyone needs to visit here at least 10 times : ) ....love your passion and enthusiasm...Arohanui from Aotearoa
Just came across your videos for new zealand. welcome. I missed a day when i came back from europe (via Vanc as well). mine was may 11th this year ill never see. Just one thing i noticed, the seatbelt. Please put it on, not behind you. Some of our roads can be pretty bad, and high speed car accidents are no joke (years as a firefighter, you dont want to go through the windscreen). Enjoy the country
Thanks appreciate the kind words. The seat belt is on and not behind. Sara likes to put it under her armpit, especially when holding the camera, which still isn't proper but it's still across her body
Mānawatia a Matariki ✨ Happy Māori new year to you both! Missing Rotorua today and stumbled upon your guys trip. Thanks for bringing me along was so much fun ✨
Thanks for coming to visit my home. Can I just say you barely scratched the surface NZ has such incredible depth after 64 years I am still discovering new delights, I guess same for everywhere but so true here :). South Island OMG you will have been blown away.
Oh, we're fully aware we barely scratched the surface. I always wish we had more time. Of course, we do need time to edit these videos to push out too, but wouldn't mind a staycation to really get to explore the islands.
Hands down this is my favorite video of yours yet! I'm a botanist, so I loved your walk out in nature, and I'm always interested in indigenous cultures. Looking forward to part 2!
5:36 yes you lost that day. But when you come back it might be like my return from Japan to Canada a year ago. Flight left at 5:30 pm, we had dinner, snacks, movies, slept, woke, breakfast. Movies. Then we landed and it was 4:30 pm the same day we left Japan! So you’ll get to live that day twice!
Wow so refreshing to see New Zealand from your guys’ perspective! I’m from Rotorua but so excited to see you guys explore the South Island. It’s gorgeous there.
Hope you enjoyed your holiday in New Zealand I've lived in New Zealand since I was born and it's amazing here I was born and raised in nz so I can tell you that it is worth coming here
Just love you guys! Wondering if y'all are there now-ish? Maybe there's a reason y'all don't but I always wish travel vloggers would include the month and temps of when they're visiting cause I'm an avid over packer and am always curious about how I should back for destinations. It looks cold with the jackets you're wearing! 😂
This is a great question. Honestly not something we really thought about. We were there very recently. June/July ish is winter in New Zealand so it was a bit cold in some spots (obviously not cold enough that we couldn't splash around a bit 😂). We talk about that a bit more in our next video as we're outdoors more in that one, but idk it's not usually a question we get asked so I guess it goes overlooked
Definitely deserves a visit when the weather is nice. I missed seeing the lavender fields, but I will say there was something magical about being there when it was wet and cold too
Kia Ora! I am glad you lived our beautiful country! I grew up about an hour from Rotorua in Tauranga! Your videos of the geysers reminded me of my school trips there, haha! You got some amazing footage. Enjoy all your future travels. Much aroha (love) from a new kiwi subscriber. ❤
What a grand adventure! We visited NZ & Rotorua in 2015 - never made it to the South Island (yet!) - can't wait for the 2nd part of the video. Really enjoying your videos!
Thanks for watching. Hope you can make it back to see the south one day. It's breathtaking, and I don't say that too often. Everywhere is surrounded by snow capped mountains.
Hello fellow Seattlites! As someone who also recently drove on the other side in Scotland, I feel your pain Tony! It's really scary at first. I did eventually adjust after two weeks and then when we came back I had to readjust to the other side again, stupid brain!
crazy right. Sometimes I find it's just as hard adjusting to coming back home than learning to adjust to the opposite side while you're there. First day back I turned into our neighborhood and could not remember which side of the road I was supposed to be in for like 10 seconds.
You would have loved 1. the Polynesian Spa (private alkaline pool with warm water and relaxing) and Kerosene creek (free activity recommended during winter months) 2. Luge
@@faredrop if you had them on around your lap then you'd still get pulled over and fined for not wearing them correctly.... they have to be over your shoulder too.
@@faredropHaving them on and having them on correctly are 2 very different things. Be careful too cause rental car companies come down hard on tourists who get fines here in NZ. They can even revoke your rental car with no refund and leave you stranded. Makes it harder for you to rent from other companies afterwards too
Really loving your videos! You make travel seem so accessible and the experiences you choose are often what I’d be looking for. IE: Kara & Nate’s stairway to heaven is cool to watch but not something my body would let me do 😜
Loved your mana (energy) and seeing you both enjoy the simplistic beauty of the redwoods. I’m surprised you haven’t given your opinion on the cost of things yet, for example, the zorbing, would an activity like that in the US cost similar? Hey, thanks for watching. You make a great point. We actually gave our opinion on costs in both videos. In no way do we think it's cheap to travel to NZ, but we did mention things not being as expensive as we initially thought in this video. It's just been announced the latest AVATAR production is also going to be based here - down Wellington way, I believe.
I spent 6 weeks exploring NZ and the South island was my favorite by far. Looking forward to Part 2.
I've been in the north twice and finally made it to the south. I have to agree with you there

Not usually. I'm sure there are plenty who do though. Probably more common in the very north like Alaska and Maine
You luv driving on the left🤔right?🤨

Thanks, yall. That was my favorite part lol
Yes that is the original zorb. MTV sent 5 people to travel around an RV in the 90s and they went zorbing! Cool episode !
I'll have to check that out. Do you remember what the show was called?
My husband is American, he’s been here 27 years and doesn’t want to leave. There are plenty of Americans living here - just do it. 😊
Might have to!

When were we not wearing seatbelts? We had seatbelts on the entire time, so I'm not exactly sure where you're getting the impression that we didn't

I lived in New Zealand in 2016-2017 and went to rotorua to zorb at the same place! It was so much fun!
