    This is a perfect abstract example of human apathy, how they just straight up picked her up and put her on the ground and not a single person cared, then she screams and still no one cares. Ruby is just a random character that has only one scene that is someone no one really should care about, yet she grabs the audiences attention in this one appearance and makes it rememberable.

      Charlyne Yi is the epitome of a one scene wonder in this show. Pops up for three mins and steals the whole episode. So happy she and Lynch came together to create a classic scene for the show. That scream is bloodcurdling, haunting, and so very Twin Peaks.

    I'm so happy this newest season of Twin Peaks got made. It's probably the most abstract thing to ever get released on mainstream television, but it's complete and unwavering commitment to Lynch's bizarre vision is exactly what I was hoping it would be. Whether you like The Return or not, I really think it's the most innovative thing I've ever watched in the television format. Episode 8 showing the creation of BOB, as well as the truly bizarre finale, still haunt me months and months after seeing it. Also the use of music combined with the imagery in this scene is easily one of the more memorable moments of The Return.

      Brent Blayone Blayone I think The Return was genius, EPIC, masterful, surrealism art, just freaking so amazing, I hope David Lynch wins an Emmy for this!! And I hope since Showtime says Twin Peaks will always have a home that he turns his book The Dossier back into a season series as he did The Return. TV like this is a lost art

      A question crossed my brain, while watching episode 8 (iirc, the one with almost no dialogue, and yes "the creation of Bob", atomic explosion etc), and still remains :(only watched this "third season" once, that has to be a factor) has the whole "The return" been all about this moment ?

      @@manuel-xaxthe whole show has been about that moment: it’s that obscene, horrific explosion of man’s evil that allows JUDY to release The Black Lodge entities into reality and begin influencing reality. The White Lodge retains control most of the time, but after Beyond Life and Death (the season 2 finale), and Coop and Annie are gone, with BOB having escaped with Mr. C The Black Lodge takes back over and leads to the dark and twisted reality we see in The Return

    I think everyone tries to ascribe meaning to every character and moment on Twin Peaks, but part of the beauty of it all is that a scene like this can be just a scene, no context, no significance in relation to the larger story, just some secondary character without backstory whose plight is still interesting. Even characters who appear in but one scene are intriguing in Lynch world.

    • @SkullModder

      Although that is true for certain things, this is not one of them. there are things happening in this bar that connect or reference to points in twin peaks, one example being the gross chick who asks her friend if she has heard of the penguin in a suit, which is a reference to the original twin peaks, which I think its a referring to cooper or another fellow in a suit.

    • @penguinproductions8829
      @penguinproductions8829 Місяць тому +1

      @@SkullModderdid this scene link to Audrey’s story, which most of The Roadhouse segments seemed to be hinting towards? I’ve always seen this as the darkness in Twin Peaks reaching a literal peak, there’s absolutely no kindness except for those from the original show (Ed, Norma, Shelley etc) and all that’s left for the kind and normal people to do is scream

    • @SkullModder
      @SkullModder Місяць тому

      @@penguinproductions8829 it's possible but I havent seen any direct evidence of linking to Audrey, at least this scene.
      My guess is the girl is some sort of conduit that's needed as a result of whatever has gone on with coops soul, it's possible audrey also has a similar conduit somewhere in the bar such as the girls who seem plagued by some kind of rash, some say it's a metaphor for the darkness that's creeped onto the town but it could also represent audreys split personality (2 girls) and the mental illness she's been plagued with as a result of the sexual abuse from Mr c.
      just a wild guess tho.
      it's also possible the bar is like silent hill where only the disturbed are able to experience what we see as the bar which would explain why the girl is treated as non existent aside from the guys who place her down but they could also be effected which is why they're indifferent.

To me the Pink Room song sounds way more like another great tune played recently in the Road House, "Snake Eyes" by Trouble. Riley Lynch, son (I think, I'm too lazy to do the research so nephew/ great grandson/ non-canon tulpa may be the correct title) of David Lynch, is the frontman guitarist of that group.
