Learn English: When to use EACH, EVERY, WHOLE, ENTIRE, ALL

  • Do we say "We ate all the cake", "the entire cake", or "the whole cake"? What about "everyone in the room" or "each one in the room"? There are subtle differences between "whole", "all", "entire", "every", and "each" that even native English speakers may not be able to explain. In this lesson, we will address these differences and talk about when to use which. I will teach you what countable and uncountable nouns are, and that will help you understand which of these words to use in what context. I will also give you many examples to practice all of these. Don't forget to do the quiz after watching! www.engvid.com...

    I don't have any issues listening to your videos, they are ALL crystal clear! I love watching EVERY ONE OF them because even though I've lived in the US almosts my ENTIRE life, English is my second language and there's always room for improvement. Even though I am at the point that my thoughts come in in English more so than Spanish, I always learn something from EACH video. Thank you, professor!

    Some day i went to a party at a friend´s house. Late at night every one at the party felt hungry, so we decided to order a pizza, but we had to decide the ingredients before. Each one of them looked scrumptious. However, there were some vegetarians in the group, therefore the whole pizza could not have meal ingredients. After a long discussion, we finally agree to order a half mushrom-half chicken pizza and all of the crew ate exactly what they wanted.
    Thank´s for any feedback you give me.

    • @alyu6351
      @alyu6351 4 роки тому

      everyone/someone = everybody/somebody. But everybody/somebody is more common in informal language.
      At the student party:
      - Hey, everybody!!! Somebody is here to see you all!!!
      At the airport:
      - Attention please everyone! Someone has forgotten their bag outside.

    I got married. We are dating for over 17 years. When we first met, i was sitting in a crowded little restaurant and then i saw her with the group of friends, she was so gorgerous and hot, it was love at first sight. Then i realised with every piece of my brain, that i can't take my eyes away, i saw only her in the whole restaurant.
    Next day all my thoughts were busy with her, i couldn't do anything. My friends find out that she is from Italy and very famous. We started dating and enjoyed each day together, i called her - my precious, but the others said her name is Pizza, i loved it too.
    Now we're live together and every week still walking to that restaurant.
