That's a lot of pedal with a ton of options in a tiny package. Really like it paired with volume pedal and that Talk Box effect you found make this Flow irresistable to me. Of course, I don't have any pedals, so this one with that volume pedal are officially on my list. Thanks, Ryan! Loads of fun watching you with your Mad Professor hat on.
I love it ...it gives you a 'wow' instead of a 'bow' A fairly decent synth sound with a heavy dark Fuzz. Straight up ....I really enjoyed you doing some serious things to work with different dynamics.
Friend of mine bought an Auto-Was pedal from Long-McQuade in Toronto, then he had to wait because they had to bring it in from their store in Nepean. So I told him that his Auto-Way came from Ottawa. (Nepean is a basically a suburb of Ottawa)
I use autowah a lot on bass. It's on almost always, but only on one of 4 channels that I mix together. So, it's not full-on always-on. And yes, a boost or eq in front is really helpful to control the sweep.
The AWOL website provides some more info on how to get different sounds out of it. May be worth trying. Maybe not. "Flow works with a variety of instruments, stacks well with other pedals, and works differently depending on where it is in your signal chain. It’s very input sensitive, so adjusting your pick attack or guitar’s volume control changes how the filter responds and sounds. The filter retains a distinct tonal character while providing lots of versatility with the range of it’s one-knob control. All the way turned up is your classic, bright and funky “auto-wah” sound. With the knob turned all the way down, you get a gentle but full, low-pass filter that’s guaranteed to turn your favorite overdrive tone into a massive fuzz. In between settings are perfect for injecting your tone with that vocoder-like, throaty, iconic rock guitar roar."
I love the Flow! It's such a great pedal. As for the Virus, you control the fuzz amount by your volume control, and I suppose if you were looking to control it while not effecting the flow "shhh" amount... you would throw a volume pedal between the two.
Wow, honestly...this little nugget kicks ass. I have been a disciple of the MXR M82 for years qnd years. Not just for bass, but for guitar too. I think its just been perfect. This one, though, actually sounds kinda fresh? Different in a way that actually is pleasant. I fickin dig it.
Size is cool. Price is a little high for the features. I can buy the Tea Philter kit from MOD and build an auto-wah for $32. No reason to spend $120 on this unless you NEED one that small .
I bought a bigger pedalboard just to fit a Q Tron Micro & Q Tron+ (One for thick Jerry Garcia tones, the other for Bobby Weir’s Weir’d Dead and Co. wah)
this is more commonly known as an envelope filter. autowahs are usually LFO controlled. also, i am an always-on envelope filter kind of person. i learned it from tom misch.
That's the pedal for me! I cant find it anywhere. Their website links you to buy it on Reverb or Amazon but neither site has a listing for them...even when you click the actual link.
I thought the same thing! Oh that is a cool pedal, and they usually have budget stuff on this channel. Nope. $120 is a lot of scratch for an effect that I will use on very few songs.
Not many useable positions on the knob...just way too bright at past a 1/4 turn.💡 And generally just too thin overall for this kind of filter. Fun review though..I think if you need to use a wah, then you need a wah, not this! Cheers.
the warning at the beginning is for the viewers benefit. I just want everyone to be aware that this is my job and its how I make my living and receiving product and compensation for my time is part of that. In this video the product was provided but I wasn't payed anything.
@@60CycleHumcast respect for the reply. i honestly was just feeling ornery. i like most the pedal reviews, jealous you get to try so many and i don't lol peace and love.
I once had a MXR aWAH and left it at buddy’s house in grade 9 now he’s dead and I’ll never get it back .
This unit sounds a lot like it
Thanks
This pedal makes me want a Starsky and Hutch reboot with Ryan and Steve solving crimes while cruising San Diego in a tomato red Gran Torino. 😹
I'd gofund that.
Or a Faux Wood Panel Mini-Van. Solving crimes the Old School Way...
They’d need alocal metal head informant called ‘Chuggy Bear’
@@conorheduvan they can get the "will it chug" guy... olan
Nah, they'd be in a Prius.

Dig it! I just hope it doesn't tune in the local radio station like my C.B. 535Q!

I live in Ottawa
hey Landon :)

I enjoy the donner auto wah.. 🤘♥🤓
Now that's a damn good Auto wah
i have it too, the dynamic wah, and i dig it. these are envelope filters though, autowahs are LFO controlled.
Donner auto wah is sweet it even came with stickers which is a huge plus!
Why not add a wah pedal to the afford a board?
Quite a few interesting sounds!

Nice. That wah sounds good. It has a nice 'quack' to it and simplicity. My favorite auto wah right now is probably the MXR Auto Q. 👏🎸
Your show is awesome!

Ottawa.....
bad joke but it made me laugh like shit lol
Almost cried 🤣
It came with a spliff!!

I subscribed because if I train my eye near, but not at, your face, I can imagine that you are actually Chris Elliot.
"I'm not going use an (auto)-wah, like, always on". Kirk Hammett wants a word.
+1 for Ottawa
auto-wahs sound like a proper envelope filter just phoning it in
this is a proper envelope filter. it's dynamics controlled
@@calinguga i think i am just underwhelmed by the effect envelope filters have on guitar 🤪
That's a very good autowah.

My Classic 108 Mini from MXR picks up radio waves too

@60 Cycle Hum the DOD Envelope Filter adds a sweet throaty midrange growl you should try it out
I was like oh that's a cool little auto wah, I should try one for my first wah pedal then I see the $120 price tag 👀
try the donner dynamic wah. it's the cheapest i could find ($40 or so) and it works great.
I thought the same thing! Oh that is a cool pedal, and they usually have budget stuff on this channel. Nope. $120 is a lot of scratch for an effect that I will use on very few songs.
@@joshuaevans1922 I hear that. Wanted this and the booster mini yet can’t justify the price.
Actually sounds pretty decent, I don't like the idea of not having more control over the pedal though...
The guitar volume made all the difference for me. I wonder how guitar volume level would affect the fuzz??
Green Zappa By Henretta has been out for 7-8 years I think.
My always on is a Flanger and an Auto Wah.... lol
They kinda look like Hotone pedals. Little guys!
Damn, went on the site and it says they're all sold out!!!
It's disco guitar with one knob and one switch.
Noice videao
Less metal, less circuit board, but more price!?!?! No thank you!
Try a tremendous tremolo
Mutron Micro-V clone? Heard a little tremble in the sweep.
It sounds like a little wah. There is no beef to it. Too small and Rinky Dink especially for the price
wah on first before the highgain pedal...
What would have been real funny would have been a trem in front of it.
Is the Flow an auto wah? Or an envelope filter
envelope filter technically. like many things the phrases get mixed up a lot though.
Definitely an always on when making porn music. That auto wah is all about getting busy.
Aaaaaand it's gone
Sounds more like a filter
hahahahaha 120$ ??!?!? no fucking way

If they were rechargeable I would mount it on the body of my guitar and just slap it on.
$120?! For a micro pedal envelope filter? Really?
im sure there's no legal protection from any companies with that crappy warning at the beginning. sad.... very sad.
