Everglow’s decline is no one else’s fault but Yuehua. All the members are extremely talented and put their all into everything they do. They have acquired many fans from around the world and have massive potential. Unfortunately they are given almost no support from the company, along with infrequent comebacks and content despite achieving successes many groups outside the big 3 don’t see. The only reason they have a market in SK to begin with is because of Everglow. They deserve so much more and it’s very frustrating as a Forever to see my faves being treated as poorly as they are. I really hope they can have a comeback with all 6 members together again soon but until then, all we can do is support them and wait until their return ❤
@@ffbeexaid4509it’s sad that so many people actively choose not to support Everglow solely because they’re from a Chinese company, despite 5/6 members being Korean. Xenophobia is still a big issue but so is Yuehua’s mistreatment of Everglow..
@@cherryblosssssom I don't know if you can buy likes, but most of their MVS have over a million likes... and so many stages have millions of views too.
@@alex-cp4en they clearly bought a lot of views. There a lot of evidence, just compare their views before and afters ads. E.g. Ladidada didn't get a lot of views untill they paid ads.
@@cherryblosssssomBuying ads is just marketing, it doesn't automatically give you lots of views, Yuehua willing to spends lots of money buying ads to promote and their marketing paid off, that's it, almost every group nowadays do it even group like TWICE because its just a normal way to promote.
I am just a casual listener of Everglow but I genuinely do not want them to go down the path of just being left out (or Yiren being kicked out) by their ent. I honestly believe that in their case, the company is stuck between pleasing their main country (which is China) but also wanting to establish a greater status in SK hence why Yuehea is stuck at a confusing direction. I also hope that they can now provide a clear and honest statement regarding Yiren (because it seems to be a red flag that she is now releasing her own solo music).
Yeah and speaking of their other artists I’m happy Woodz is gone Yueha almost completely ruined his very own potential but I feel bad for everglow especially and tempest and Yena already
@@gwenmloveskpopandmore I’m actually happy Woodz got out since he probably has now more freedom on his musical direction. As for Tempest and Yena, seeing their domestic and international popularity, I honestly believe that Yuehea is going to care more for them (also believe it or not, a lot of my korean friends living in SK did confirmed that Tempest is quite popular). As for Everglow, I am worried about them considering that they seem to be getting the short end of the stick. I hope (this might be too ideal) that Yuehea will start to do some changes on how they handle Everglow.
@@lychie__ yeah I actually explained that in some of my other comments on tempest and said if it wasn’t for 3 certain members (Lew, Hyeongseop, and Hanbin) they wouldn’t be as popular rn that’s why they’re popular in Korea mostly for Lew and Hyeongseop though
I’m an English fan but I’m going to their concert in Kyrgyzstan, the country’s first ever kpop concert and people here are really excited by the fact EVERGLOW was willing to come to such countries!!
From what I’ve been told, that type of bowing in China is done at funerals or when a person dies. So it’s very easy to understand why Yiren didn’t bow and why she did her own traditional Chinese greeting, in her mind that was her way of showing utmost respect to the fans and wish them luck and health on the coming year. It just goes to show how ignorant and intolerant people can be.
my teacher said that she used to bow to her grandparents for chinese new year but although we are both chinese,i don't bow neither do my parents or whatever
@@loonaaroundtheworld3410 China is a very big country it’s stupid to assume they’re all from the same place and have the same traditions and were raised the same. Maybe she’s from a very traditional family
@@loonaaroundtheworld3410 bro the last time they did something china didn't like they got warned, Yiren was probably fucking scared of getting someone in trouble again
I feel like Everglow still has a chance if they come back soon, we’ve seen a huge uptick in album sales across the board this year, including for groups who have been on hiatus. I think that if eg comes back soon, they still have a big enough fanbase to hype up the comeback as it’s still been less than a year
Everglow could’ve had so much more potential but because of Yueha they lost it big time. That’s literally what happened with Woodz (Uniq unofficially disbanded, after X1 disbanded minus his 1st win last year) therefore I’m happy he didn’t resign. And that’s why I’m worried for Tempest and a little bit for Yena. They literally just debuted a new Chinese boygroup called Boyhood months after Tempest debuted. Sure Tempest is popular in Korea rn (especially thanks to Hyeongseop, Lew, and Hanbin) but Yueha could act more stupid overtime if they’re not careful with their actions. personally in my opinion Yueha should just stick to staying in China and their “Korean part” should rebrand into something else.
Honestly, if they couldn’t blow up with La Da Di Da, it wasn’t going to happen. That song was a quintessentially perfect KPop song, it had an expensive video, and was promoted properly on music shows.
Everglow has an arsenal of bops (first, la di da, bon bon chocolat, dun dun, pirate, adios). It's so sad how a talented group is managed by a underwhelming company. I really hope for a comeback
I don't know Everglow well, but Pirate was one of my absolute favourite songs last year and I've been waiting for their next comeback since then and got worried when I realized that it's been almost a year now. I really hope they'll be alright! One thing that surprised me in this video was seeing their album sale numbers - with how popular they are I would have expected them to sell a lot more. I've seen way less popular groups sell more than trice the amount of albums.
I’ve always been waiting for Everglow to seriously blow up, because I’ve always known they could. I’ve seen a lot of people claim their stuff is unoriginal but I disagree. I definitely agree their company is holding them back, and it’s so sad. I hope Yiren comes back (and gets more lines in their songs, damn). Thank you for this fascinating video!
The fact that there are people that think their stuff is unoriginal is beyond baffling to me. They are not even my ult group (INSOMNIA to the death!) but LA DI DA is one of the best songs in the history of k-pop.
they did blow up tho!!! their debut was successful as hell. like bon bon coco was very well received as well as dun dun and la di and adios but the mixture of the music seemingly going in a different direction and not a good one and mismanagement is sending them on a decline.
Everything from promotion to the treatment of Mia and Ondas scalps needs to be improved. Everglow is such a versatile group they dont need to do just girl crush concepts. The company should focus on doing a concept the general public can't ignore. Everglows members can sing, dance and have amazing visuals. Forevers aren't going anywhere but it's scary to think what will happen to Everglow if they don't reach the success they deserve in Korea. They can't survive on international support forever.
i mean, they’re not bad at girl crush though, in fact they’re very refreshing in their girl crush (which is hard to do and the music does not age well but !) and it’s kind of annoying that they’re trying to transition away from that but they’re doing it so incorrectly.
Yeah but Yueha sucks in general. They ruined Uniq (I’m glad Woodz didn’t resign) They didn’t let the Chinese members of WJSN return, and that’s why I’m already worried for Tempest and a little bit for Yena
I am also worried about as everglow is more just my favorite group they got me into kpop. When I first started listening to everglow I was going through a rough phase but their music and content warmed up my heart and made me feel worth something and it puts me to tears everytime I hear about yuehua entertainment and their stupidity in management but I still try to keep an hopeful outlook
everglow needs to comeback really soon or people are going to forget about them 😔 i don’t want them to disappear they have such a good discography and so much potential!
i think one of the biggest problems everglow have, is being known by the general international kpop community, but not having that many fans. they have almost 2 million subscribers but never surpassed 52 thousand album sales. the same problem happened to weki meki, and without proper promotions and a long hiatus between each comeback, their popularity started decreasing even more.
@@shinyeee1709 yah kinda agreed. Poor weki meki, they didn't get any highlight or spotlight at all after debut even put a lots of hard work! Such a talented as well like Everglow.
As someone who lived through this and is deeply involved with both Dreamcatcher and Everglow, I would like to clarify that the hate the members and group received after the 1st win controversy was NOT from InSomnia (Dreamcatcher fandom). But rather it mostly came from the Blink fandom and general hater multis who used the controversy as proof of sajaegi by Yuehua. Obviously there was probably some immature Somnias but the majority of InSomnia hate was directed at The Show itself
Im an insomnia and blink and most of the hate were insomnia. every fandom has toxic fans, this is normal. some fans are still mad. Everglow and Dreamcatcher are great and both deserve wins
Oh don't mind me here, just an Insomnia that enjoying both group and fully respecting all the members. Because if you think about it, why would you attack the group about the win count? Shouldn't we go attack on the show itself?😅 anw what is done is done. From my experience insomnia is one of the most chill fandom.
It’s so disappointing because they all are so talented and the group has soooo much potential, and my bias is yiren the moment I heard she would be going back to China I knew we wouldn’t be seeing her for a while but it’s been way too long
Everglow's single discography is everything pop is supposed to be... influenced by millennium western pop (Britney Spears) mixed with other western girl groups (Pussycat Dolls, Little Mix) and then adding the K-POP touch of visuals and mastery just creates fantastic comeback after comeback. While I totally agree the line distributions are heavily biased towards Mia regarding rapping parts, I see zero issue with her always getting the best vocal parts - it's just reality that she is by far the most skilled vocalist (even miles stronger than Sihyeon) while the others stand out in many other ways.
I'm not a "kpop stan", as I don't listen to a lot of kpop. But I love Everglow and I discovered kpop through them. It allowed me to find some groups and I like them. But I'm not engaged in any fanbase. I just like to listen to the songs you know. I enjoy Everglow's music and I love everyone in the group ! Anyways, when I see the amount of hate kpop stans (mostly from other fanbases) can vomit, it just confirms me that I don't want to engage myself in any fanbase. People can be so mean. Poor Yiren... I just want to show her support. Yuehua are incompetent and obviously don't know how to protect their artists. If there is a comeback, they better treat and protect them well. I just hope Yiren will come back to SK so they can make new music A simple listener
I have the same view on kpop as you do, which is rare! I really like Everglow's music too but am not in the fanbase (or any other kpop fanbase) and the sheer hate individual members recieve is dehumanising, I'll never understand how netizens can be so mean and serious whilst talking about insignificant things idols have done, like they commited a murder or something.
I am a fan of everglow since their debut I loved them since the start and I think all of their comebacks were amazing just a masterpiece. no other girl group caught my attention like them, unique interesting and the powerful. everglow's "first" comeback was very strong I think it was the best one. The concept was very fresh and powerful. They have so much potential but their company are not promoting them right now and it's so upsetting. literally we couldn't predict nothing wrong and not we're here
As someone that want to be updated after 2 years of being uninterested to kpop, it somehow make me curios why I don't hear much about everglow in social media. Although I am not that focus on kpop, I barely hear a news about everglow, so this video really help me to be inform. Anyway I hope that the will comeback soon. I'm a casual listener of many kpop group and I don't stan that much but I hope they continue to create music.
It’s so sad seeing them gone for a whole year they have so much talent and it needs to be promoted better, I remember when Bon Bon chocolat was released three years ago I was obsessed with the song and I would sing and dance to it everywhere anywhere i also recently got back into listening to some early 2019-2020 songs which is nostalgic, I just hope that maybe the company moves them to a better one and maybe even a KOREAN one since this company obviously has some obsession with the Chinese idols from what I’m reading in the comments.
this video made me remember how much I love Everglow. honestly Yuehua fumbled the bag this year. they should've debuted a subunit (or ot5) considering how popular girl groups have been.
Amazing video,i dont consider myself a forever but i enjoy a lot of songs from them and i definitely hope their situation gets better bc these girls deserve have a better treatment. You forgot to mention that a lot of kpop fans really think that yuehua only "buy them views" so thats why their sucess is "fake" according to these haters.
buying views is definitely an issue for some groups but in everglow's case they get a lot views on other videos. for example, stages and performances. their variety content doesn't get as much views recently though, maybe because of the lack of subs.
They will mainly focus on yena and tempest, they give higher return. They could have capitalize on everglow inital sucess but it's lost now, and being a Chinese company with a Chinese member is still a problem for many koreans
i mean, i think their sales can also be a problem because with that much stream on YT and spotify, they should have more sales like 100k because that's where the money from. YT views and Spotify can't feed them enough. That's why they do concert after the pandemic because they need money. 2020 must been so hard for them
i’ve known everglow from their debut days. weird, i thought they would blow up bc they had potential. 3 hit songs in a row but something happened after ladida dropped. even tho its a good song the views were stuck etc . but this yiren scandal, them being quiet & not doing anything and so many new girl groups debuting… i can’t believe i’m saying this but i think its not possible for them to catch up with others especially when aespa, idle and ive (top three 4th gen ggs in korea right now) are around :( i would love them to be big again, or maybe even bigger in the future but if yiren gets kicked out then it’ll definitely be over 🥺💔
I like this group, my third favorite girl group, and hope everything will go well with them, or maybe work under a different label, they truly deserve to be in the top spotlight.
I remember K-pop stans celebrating the dead of onda’s father on twitter….I will never ever forget that…..she never had any controversies to beginn with yet people make fun about such a serious topic how devilish and inhuman can someone be?These people don’t deserve love or anything good coming to them because that is just too much….
I'm happy YH promotes their new groups TEMPEST, NAME, NEVERLAND and BOYHOOD so well, but I hate that they leave EVERGLOW and NEXT behind. Especially EVERGLOW since they're soooo popular and successfull! 😑
Yuehua needs to fix themselves right away. Everglow has so much potential and talent. They have success so idk what their company is doing. Everglow can still make it even if other rookies are coming up. Yuehua just needs to do better.
yue hua has a history of pulling their chinese idols out of the korean groups they are a part of once they get popular enough to start promoting them in china. For example, cheng xiao, meiqi, and xuanyi from wjsn. Yibo, from uniq. These idols once pulled out of their respective groups usually don't return to their groups. Idk if this is intentional on yue hua's part to build enough of a fan base in korea to then boost their own popularity in china or if they just want to also be successful in both countries. Those idols are also never explicitly said to have left their groups, i mean yibo hasn't stepped foot in korea in years and uniq hasn't had a cb in years as well but yue hua has never stated that yibo is gone from uniq or that uniq has disbanded.
@@gwenmloveskpopandmore lol yeah and while fans know that yue hua never even had the dignity to release a statement which is pretty shitty on their part. I hope they don't do the same thing to everglow but who knows with that company 😕
@@gwenmloveskpopandmore yiren saying that the ceo promised her she would return to everglow reminded me of when wjsn would say that the other three members would join them in their cb's soon and it's been years since then 💀 like I'm scared
Regardless of whether she does come back to Korea or not, it would be nice of Yuehua to give us updates on what is happening with Yiren. The concert/festival accounts of where the other gals have performed at stating Yiren will not be there have been a primary source for many of the group’s fans finding out she is still in China. None of the Chinese social media posts about her activities there have been posted to the Everglow social media account in the last few months (if they ever were in the beginning). I have no qualms with Yiren deciding to stay in China permanently due to things like the bowing incident. If anything, if Yuehua allows her to do so (versus forcing her back to Korea) I applaud them for putting her wellbeing first. I like many other fans though, would appreciate some official communication. In the beginning I was very hopeful that she was coming back when Yuehua stated she would. Obviously she has stayed longer than the original time period, which is fine but it would have been nice to have it stated officially. Both Yena and Tempest have had debuts and comebacks this year. We have started the first month in the final quarter of the year. That is almost a year since Pirate. Since their last comeback, several big girl groups have had debuts while others have had comebacks that really proved their popularity. Even among mid-tier girl groups (which is where I would place Everglow, based on their album sales/UA-cam views/streaming numbers), there have been several girl group debuts and comebacks. Yuehua better be ready to promote the group when they finally have their comeback. I do appreciate Yuehua getting the five remaining members book with concerts this summer. This helps keep the group in peoples’ minds while there is not much official Everglow content being put out. Which is another issue I have as long content droughts, be them songs or smaller things like vlogs and covers, only work for huge groups. There is also the possibility of Yuehua getting these concerts in before a comeback to get people used to seeing five members instead of six. Which again, while I would like for Yiren to comeback, I want her wellbeing to be put first.
Yeah I would really like to know what's going on with Yiren, besides speculations. I didn't get into Everglow until about May of this year, but had Bon Bon Chocolat, Dun Dun, and First on repeat for months. I read that she wasn't participating in activities because she was visiting family for 1 month per Yuehua's statement. Then, 1 month turned to 4 months, 4 months turned to 6 months, and now it's 2 months away from being a full year since she's participated in any idol activities (The 2021 K-Pop Medley Relay Dance). On top of that, the last time she was mentioned on the group's official instagram, it was a birthday post from December. I just hope there is some type of clarification of what's going on with her on the company's part, considering the rest of the group have been pretty active on social media.
For me, the biggest downside of a group is always the lack of content between comebacks, i like everglows music, but it's literally impossible to form an emotional attachment to them as there's next to no interaction between them and the fans. Them being from a chinese company plays a big role in them not being well recieved in korea, but for the majority of their international fanbase, including me, this is not really a concern at all. If only they focused on the international fans, they could possible become one of the biggest kpop groups ever, sadly i don't see it playing out anymore at this point.
I think this is what makes Dreamcatcher's experience so different despite Everglow having the more general public-friendly title tracks. I have a lot of respect for Everglow and imho they make the best girl crush comebacks, I like them more than Blackpink, but you need to give the fans regular content. Dreamcatcher is lackluster in views in comparison but their physical sales are solid and their fan base are pretty emotionally invested in them and buy their merch. The emotional investment comes from having regular content on their YT channel so fans can feel like they can learn more about the idols off stage. Regular YT content - - > more dedicated fanbase - - > more willing to buy physical albums and merch (and have merch to begin with) !! Hope Everglow turns things around because they definitely deserve much better. Such a shame that they're hated on by netizens by things out of their control. It's all mismanagement.
@@postpunkista Yes, people don't buy albums for music anymore, they buy albums of their faves who they feel emotionally attached to and that's what yuehua ent. doesn't seem to understand.
Coz the competition is getting stronger and stronger. 4th gen groups are monster like selling millions, Chartings, Digitals, Views. Everglow is easily overshadowed
@@leasn8389 i know but it doesn’t mean that you have to hate on them. And hating on them because they are not selling millions doesn’t mean they are not good
I've been waiting on Everglow to go on tour., I would love to see them. I hope the girls are okay and I hope they have a great comeback soon. The market is getting crowded so much with new girl groups, and I'm worried they will decline if they don't come back soon.
im glad someone made a video about them because ive been wondering why they haven't released anything since PIRATE. it sucks to hear about all of this and I hope it gets resolved. The company really needs to step up, grow a backbone, and stand up for the group members and these small minded people who want to bash Yiren for doing something that meant nothing and Aisha for false claims need to calm down. I hope they can make a comeback soon. Theres always that one group every year or so that has the potential for massive success that get f*cked by the company or someone else in some way and its unfortunate to see it continue to happen. at the very least let them out of their contracts so they can live their lives out of this limbo abyss.
That album sales really surprised me, I'm just a casual listener but judging by their MV views which reached hundred millions... I always thought Everglow had more than 100k sales per album release, but their highest is 52k(I referred wiki please correct me if I'm wrong) I didn't expect that
In terms of general international popularity, Eveglow is probably as well known as Itzy. But what sets them both apart, is that while Itzy has solid Korean and international fanbases, Korean Forevers are close to non-existent while a lot of their international fans are casual listeners. So, they stream the songs and music videos but that's about it. They don't engage with the group as stans (for e.g buy their albums, follow them on social media etc.)
Also I know it’ll never be confirmed by both of them but Yueha no longer manages WJSN it’s all just Starship after the Chinese members “left”. That’s probably gonna happen to Yiren sadly.
omg i wondered why everyone is silent regarding Everglow and the whole situation , there where no videos on youtube nor accounts on instagram tackling or tracking the situation from the beginning, even though more than 10 months has passed with minimal interaction and lack of announcement from the Yuehua. I'm a big fan and its so devastating watching these girls losing popularity due to lack of management. . Delaying a comeback or having a long hiatus is such a terrible idea especially in their situation since they come from a small company and in the presence of highly competitive 4th gen market. I want them back regardless of all the sh*t they wen through . EVERGLOW DESERVED BETTER!
it hurts to see my ult group in this context but it's important to talk about it everglow has everything they need except korean recognition due to the complex cultural differences. i don't think yuehua wants to abandon them just yet but that they genuinely can't find a way to reintroduce yiren into the group without a public backlash as much as i adore yiren, i think yuehua should just make a decision and either pull her back to korea or cut their losses and continue everglow as a 5-member group. otherwise none of the girls, yiren included, won't be able to work as performers. stay strong forevers!
The video was amazing as always. 💙 I didn't know that deeply about everglow, but this video explained everything very well and just showed how sad the situation is for the girls who haven't had a comeback in almost 1 year and Yuehua sucks when it comes to managing such a talented group and with super catchy songs. I hope they can turn it around and come back soon.
Thanks for this update. I was going through my playlists when I realized Pirate is 10 months old now. Hopefully they'll continue, even with or without Yiren returning, though I hope she comes back myself. I'm wondering if it was her idea or the SK management's idea for her to return to China. If it was her own, not so bad. If it was management, then that's strange. She's talented and having her go back to China risks her deciding to stay there with a solo career - what seems to be happening actually. It seems SK management might have wanted her to leave due to the domestic blowback of her China origin?
The fact they’re a Chinese company is not helping for promotions in Korea because of the tension. I wish that the girls had a better company because they could have stayed as a leading gg
the hate everglow got because of dun dun still does damage to this day. mia still gets hate and kpop stans don't like to bring everglow up unless it's to drag them for line distribution. there was a popular yt short about things kpop groups are best in and all the groups were complimented until it got to everglow and it was "best at worst line distribution." and all the time people use no lie in their thumbnails to get a quick view. when nayeons solo dropped people made line distribution videos for it and the comments were filled with digs at mia. for the concerts they've been playing this year they split off yirens lines(onda got most of them) and people got mad at mia for the handful of lines she covered. kpop stans made everglow their punching bag and made it "cool" to hate them. it may not be as severe as it used to be but the damage is done. people are afraid and ashamed to admit they like everglow. i see people say it all the time. if people would just stop listening to others and form their own opinions themselves they would see just how great everglow is and how hard the girls work with the shit they're given. no matter what hell they're put through i will never abandon them. i just hope things start to get better for their sake
Overseas fans have always been like this. Especially towards Mia, even in dance comparison video with other members, even when I've seen numerous dancers state that Mia is objectively the best-skilled dancer, a lot of the comments under the comparison videos would be people dragging her skills, saying things like they don't like her dancing because she "overdances & uses too much energy" when the choreo is supposed to be like that. You'd be surprised by the sheer number of people in her own fandom that do not like her.
Hate will be there regardless once they've become a punching bag, though the hate can't be stopped, EG could still go on with it for a while by taking some steps Blame the members ? No ! They try very well on their part Blame Yuehua Entertainment ? No ! They're the one's who formed EG, else EG wouldn't even exist Blame Korean Fans ? No ! You can't really get someone to support you if they don't like you So what could they do now ? Probably focus on teaching their members some English/ Chinese to increase their international popularity by creating some English hits along with the Korean one's as well, so a mixture. They could promote their songs in countries with high population who could be found of their music concept like maybe Brazil or India to gain some views and increase their popularity, and if they get successful they could expect some sales from international fans. Just a couple of good English hits while keeping up with their current music concept could increase their international audience who'd then listen to their Korean hits as well.
This video kept saying they have a huge fandom but I don't think high stream count automatically translates to big ("huge") fandom. They might have lots of casual listener but little core fans who spent money bulk buying albums (major income source)
Right their biggest album sold 50k and their latest 40k, thats ok for a girlgroup, but its in no way indicative of a "huge fandom". They have a LOT of casual listeners in the west, but their fanbase isnt really all that strong
Yuehua has mismanaged Everglow from the very start. Some people even say Everglow was just their experimental group because yuehua kr branch needed to establish their name first. Everglow deserved way better than this. I just hope we get the comeback news soon :(
I think you hit all the points tbh I personally would like to add that YH also hasn’t restocked any of their albums except for their recent one “Return of the Girl” and they still don’t have a light stick and they have no merch for them at all. I feel that Everglow is loosing their hype and it’s all YH fault, they could be bigger than what they are.
The Vlive thing was so scary... i saw it on twitter and in my opinion it`s obvious that they tried to hide the truth. I didn`t know Yiren had solo debut in China. I`ve never heard about that and i guess that says a lot how Yuehua is promoting this.
I trust Yuehua Entertainment. Is okay they break 1 year I just want them to find the most greatest comeback that I will listen everyday again and buy album again. Recent comeback is just like PSY Formula song but without comedy I like it as a fan but fewer UA-camrs do content with it. I want them to return if they're really ready. The album in last comeback is poorly design I hated it but I love everglow discography I just buy it because I'm a fan. I think Pirate 'return of the girl' is just for thier fan.
Thank you for the video!! I was starting to wondering where were they!! They’re one of the best 4gen groups imo and they’re songs are simply so good, I’m so sad things are going this way, it’s very unfair 😤😩
There are many people who misunderstand, but in fact, Yiren's refusal to deep bow was not the cause of controversy. This was just a little trigger. The problem began when Yiren's visit to the Korean military base and her salute to the Korean flag there became controversial by Chinese fans. And I heard that the Chinese government warned her about this. (Of course, the agency should not have made such a schedule.) Since then, Yiren's completely contradictory remarks among Korean and Chinese fans have caused a great controversy, which has led fans to be sensitive about her greeting in the Chinese way without bowing on Korean holidays. And so Yiren went to China. In other words, this is not only a problem of Yiren, but also a conflict between the ideology of the Chinese government and the ideas of the Chinese and the perceptions of Koreans. One thing Chinese people should also be aware of is that UA-cam is banned in China. Don't you think it's related to Chinese singers leaving Korea in a bad way?. This is not racism, it is a conflict between ideologies. Whose ideology?. = Chinese government.
From a business side of things, I can understand why Yuehua isn't promoting Everglow as much since Yena and Tempest dominate over Everglow and brings in more money. A business will put more energy into those talented acts than Everglow because the money will come back and even triple. What Yuehua messed up in (like this video stated) is the lack of content and activities between their breaks to keep the people engaged and to build more of a Korean fanbase. Their marketing team failed them in that way. Just like Yena, she was doing a lot of variety shows after iz*one up until her debut which lead her to expand her fanbase and make her presence more known and prominent in the entertainment world. : Imo, this break would be the perfect time for their marketing team to create unique and fun content for UA-cam frequently while they're touring, doing covers etc. to keep up with the Kpop world and to keep their presence strong. That would benefit them a little better when they don't have comebacks. They just need a better marketing team overall.
Yeah but fyi Woodz can be an example a soloist isn’t always gonna be successful in a Chinese company although he did get his 1st win last year and had 5 months of success in X1
my theory is everglow was sidelined this entire year to make room for yena and tempest's debut, as shitty as it is, they probably did not want to spend money on a cb that could potentially fail. as a result, eg are still in limbo in terms of a cb which sucks and this always happens when a company that debuts a gg first ends up shelving them when newer acts arrive
most of my early ults from 4th gen are falling behind or gone :( izone, itzy, and everglow, im glad gidle and fromis_8 is staying strong despite losing a member
Love Everglow, and as an American I know I am not the target audience, but they are very talented and their vocals and visuals are always amazing. Wish they had more support and songs.
For God's sake Yuheua: bring Yiren back to Korea, hire best producers/choreographers and do an OT6 comeback. And meanwhile produce a Reality Show and Making Ofs. The girls are so likeable, we just need content to keep falling for them. Less than that would be disappointing and dangerous. Competition is as tough as ever.

Yeah reminds me what they did to Uniq. Thank goodness Woodz didn’t Re sign with them.
Woods was definitely the lucky one

@@ffbeexaid4509it’s sad that so many people actively choose not to support Everglow solely because they’re from a Chinese company, despite 5/6 members being Korean. Xenophobia is still a big issue but so is Yuehua’s mistreatment of Everglow..

I feel like Everglow still has a chance if they come back soon, we’ve seen a huge uptick in album sales across the board this year, including for groups who have been on hiatus. I think that if eg comes back soon, they still have a big enough fanbase to hype up the comeback as it’s still been less than a year
even bvndit who is much less popular and debuted around the sane time saw a pretty good increase in sales despite a 2 year hiatus
@@jorrdan. but it wasn't enough to save the group(bvndit) from disband

That part!
la di da is an absolute masterpiece of a song

One thing that surprised me in this video was seeing their album sale numbers - with how popular they are I would have expected them to sell a lot more. I've seen way less popular groups sell more than trice the amount of albums.
I’ve always been waiting for Everglow to seriously blow up, because I’ve always known they could. I’ve seen a lot of people claim their stuff is unoriginal but I disagree. I definitely agree their company is holding them back, and it’s so sad. I hope Yiren comes back (and gets more lines in their songs, damn). Thank you for this fascinating video!

Everything from promotion to the treatment of Mia and Ondas scalps needs to be improved. Everglow is such a versatile group they dont need to do just girl crush concepts. The company should focus on doing a concept the general public can't ignore. Everglows members can sing, dance and have amazing visuals. Everglow has to be the most severe case of a group making crazy MVs views and Spotify stream but poor physical sales

i think one of the biggest problems everglow have, is being known by the general international kpop community, but not having that many fans. they have almost 2 million subscribers but never surpassed 52 thousand album sales. the same problem happened to weki meki, and without proper promotions and a long hiatus between each comeback, their popularity started decreasing even more.

You forgot to mention that a lot of kpop fans really think that yuehua only "buy them views" so thats why their sucess is "fake" according to these haters.
buying views is definitely an issue for some groups but in everglow's case they get a lot views on other videos. for example, stages and performances. their variety content doesn't get as much views recently though, maybe because of the lack of subs.
,,Buying views,, is just buying Ads. And that is actually a good thing because it helps with popularity
Yiren is back y'all
They will mainly focus on yena and tempest, they give higher return. They could have capitalize on everglow inital sucess but it's lost now, and being a Chinese company with a Chinese member is still a problem for many koreans
Yeah and I’m glad Woodz didn’t resign with Yueha knowing all the trash they did to him and Uniq
i mean, i think their sales can also be a problem because with that much stream on YT and spotify, they should have more sales like 100k because that's where the money from. YT views and Spotify can't feed them enough. That's why they do concert after the pandemic because they need money. 2020 must been so hard for them
i’ve known everglow from their debut days. weird, i thought they would blow up bc they had potential. 3 hit songs in a row but something happened after ladida dropped. even tho its a good song the views were stuck etc . but this yiren scandal, them being quiet & not doing anything and so many new girl groups debuting… i can’t believe i’m saying this but i think its not possible for them to catch up with others especially when aespa, idle and ive (top three 4th gen ggs in korea right now) are around :( i would love them to be big again, or maybe even bigger in the future but if yiren gets kicked out then it’ll definitely be over 🥺💔

yue hua has a history of pulling their chinese idols out of the korean groups they are a part of once they get popular enough to start promoting them in china.

@@postpunkista Yes, people don't buy albums for music anymore, they buy albums of their faves who they feel emotionally attached to and that's what yuehua ent. doesn't seem to understand.

im glad someone made a video about them because ive been wondering why they haven't released anything since PIRATE. it sucks to hear about all of this and I hope it gets resolved.

I always thought Everglow had more than 100k sales per album release, but their highest is 52k(I referred wiki please correct me if I'm wrong) I didn't expect that
yeah they have a lot of casual stans :/
In terms of general international popularity, Eveglow is probably as well known as Itzy. But what sets them both apart, is that while Itzy has solid Korean and international fanbases, Korean Forevers are close to non-existent while a lot of their international fans are casual listeners. So, they stream the songs and music videos but that's about it. They don't engage with the group as stans (for e.g buy their albums, follow them on social media etc.)
Their last comeback was IVE's debut, ive released 3 songs in a year while EVERGLOW, idk what yuehua ent. is doing.
Also I know it’ll never be confirmed by both of them but Yueha no longer manages WJSN it’s all just Starship after the Chinese members “left”. That’s probably gonna happen to Yiren sadly.
They usually do conebacks at least once/2 per year...so, yes, it's worring
omg i wondered why everyone is silent regarding Everglow and the whole situation , there where no videos on youtube nor accounts on instagram tackling or tracking the situation from the beginning, even though more than 10 months has passed with minimal interaction and lack of announcement from the Yuehua. I'm a big fan and its so devastating watching these girls losing popularity due to lack of management.
. Delaying a comeback or having a long hiatus is such a terrible idea especially in their situation since they come from a small company and in the presence of highly competitive 4th gen market.

it hurts to see my ult group in this context but it's important to talk about it
everglow has everything they need except korean recognition due to the complex cultural differences. i don't think yuehua wants to abandon them just yet but that they genuinely can't find a way to reintroduce yiren into the group without a public backlash
as much as i adore yiren, i think yuehua should just make a decision and either pull her back to korea or cut their losses and continue everglow as a 5-member group. otherwise none of the girls, yiren included, won't be able to work as performers. stay strong forevers!
The video was amazing as always. 💙
I didn't know that deeply about everglow, but this video explained everything very well and just showed how sad the situation is for the girls who haven't had a comeback in almost 1 year and Yuehua sucks when it comes to managing such a talented group and with super catchy songs.
EVERGLOW is one of my Bias Girl Groups in K-Pop. I really Miss them... PLEASE COMEBACK!!!
E:U & Sihyeon Biased Here
I really like everglow they are one of my top 5 GGroups
I really want to see onda shined with more lines etc
I really want their comeback fr :(
The fact they’re a Chinese company is not helping for promotions in Korea because of the tension. I wish that the girls had a better company because they could have stayed as a leading gg
Yeah they should just move them to another company but like that’s gonna happen
That’s also kinda what happened with WJSN losing their Chinese members and their mistakes with Uniq.
@@gwenmloveskpopandmore what did they do to UNIQ
@@chaeyoungswifey4153 it’s a long story lol
@@chaeyoungswifey4153 Woodz used to be in that group
Omg, I'm so excited for this video, I'm so happy you guys posted
Watching this made me cried
the hate everglow got because of dun dun still does damage to this day. mia still gets hate and kpop stans don't like to bring everglow up unless it's to drag them for line distribution. there was a popular yt short about things kpop groups are best in and all the groups were complimented until it got to everglow and it was "best at worst line distribution." and all the time people use no lie in their thumbnails to get a quick view. when nayeons solo dropped people made line distribution videos for it and the comments were filled with digs at mia. for the concerts they've been playing this year they split off yirens lines(onda got most of them) and people got mad at mia for the handful of lines she covered.
kpop stans made everglow their punching bag and made it "cool" to hate them. it may not be as severe as it used to be but the damage is done. people are afraid and ashamed to admit they like everglow. i see people say it all the time. if people would just stop listening to others and form their own opinions themselves they would see just how great everglow is and how hard the girls work with the shit they're given. no matter what hell they're put through i will never abandon them. i just hope things start to get better for their sake
wait so overseas fans are like this? Thought only Korean people hates them.
Hate will be there regardless once they've become a punching bag, though the hate can't be stopped, EG could still go on with it for a while by taking some steps
Blame the members ? No ! They try very well on their part
Blame Yuehua Entertainment ? No ! They're the one's who formed EG, else EG wouldn't even exist
Blame Korean Fans ? No ! You can't really get someone to support you if they don't like you
So what could they do now ?
Probably focus on teaching their members some English/ Chinese to increase their international popularity by creating some English hits along with the Korean one's as well, so a mixture. They could promote their songs in countries with high population who could be found of their music concept like maybe Brazil or India to gain some views and increase their popularity, and if they get successful they could expect some sales from international fans. Just a couple of good English hits while keeping up with their current music concept could increase their international audience who'd then listen to their Korean hits as well.
They are my favorite fourth generation girl group, I want them back 😭
same 😭
Everyone yiren will come back to everglow soon. She says it in the China TV show. Please share the information😄😄
If everglow made a comeback right now, i know that gonna be a huge.
They are really good ! Omg
wishing them to move to their chinese branch and rebrand them as a global girl group!!!!
@@2natrix fulkk off flopcatcher stan
Yuehua has mismanaged Everglow from the very start. Some people even say Everglow was just their experimental group because yuehua kr branch needed to establish their name first. Everglow deserved way better than this. I just hope we get the comeback news soon :(
Not just them but Uniq and Woodz as well
Yiren Is back! 😭🥳
Her song is on spotify and apple music btw. It is really good.
Wish they could change their company who would treat them with care and reach their max potential
(Of course, the agency should not have made such a schedule.)
Since then, Yiren's completely contradictory remarks among Korean and Chinese fans have caused a great controversy, which has led fans to be sensitive about her greeting in the Chinese way without bowing on Korean holidays.
If everglow ever comes to LA I'm there
I am so sad everglow is not one of the top 3 most famous 4th gen girl group they rly deserve it
From a business side of things, I can understand why Yuehua isn't promoting Everglow as much since Yena and Tempest dominate over Everglow and brings in more money.
THIS
Yeah but fyi Woodz can be an example a soloist isn’t always gonna be successful in a Chinese company although he did get his 1st win last year and had 5 months of success in X1
They need solid fanbase too for stay in the kpop game
@@ukay7979 yes they have a huge international fanbase but that’s it
@@gwenmloveskpopandmore so maybe solid fanbase in korea
The amount of ppl i argued with telling them yena wont join everglow🙄
I was just thinking about them.😩 Like..I want my girls back!
my theory is everglow was sidelined this entire year to make room for yena and tempest's debut, as shitty as it is, they probably did not want to spend money on a cb that could potentially fail. as a result, eg are still in limbo in terms of a cb which sucks and this always happens when a company that debuts a gg first ends up shelving them when newer acts arrive
most of my early ults from 4th gen are falling behind or gone :( izone, itzy, and everglow, im glad gidle and fromis_8 is staying strong despite losing a member
Love Everglow, and as an American I know I am not the target audience, but they are very talented and their vocals and visuals are always amazing. Wish they had more support and songs.
Im stanning them
Yiren is back in South Korea 💜
this group is sadly underrated, almost of all of their songs were such a bops
They’re popular internationally but underrated in Korea
@@gwenmloveskpopandmore yes i know, that's very sad
I’m glad you mentioned that sinophobia played a large role in Everglow’s popularity and the reaction to Yiren’s controversy.
I just commented to my niece about Everglow coming back. They are one of my ult groups and I'm really worried about them. 😔
I love Everglow, I always wondering what happen.... thanks for the video
