"red pants" will always stand out as the greatest tech compilation, I've ever seen. I've been spinning poi for about a decade and a half now. _I still use that video for inspiration and to learn some new tricks._ I don't know if I will ever learn everything in it. _Red Pants_ broke my mind when I first saw it and it will always be unbelievable to me how talented Mel was at such a young age.

Awesome to hear you talk about tech again. You have an incredible library of knowledge compiled and im glad you are continuing to share it.

Thanks! I still do tech but I try to balance it out now with dance and teaching people the basics. The more people we get in at the ground level, the more we have that keep it up through the years!

I agree on so many levels but I found poi in 2009 and in the next couple years I studied most of these videos, still struggling I started watching yours and you explained everything. They showed a cool thing but Nick and Drex taught me how to do it. I thank all those guys and a few girls like Kate but most of all I thank you Drex!!!

Hey Drex! I really loved this video. I especially liked what you were saying about the qualities a good tech poi video needs which I took note of even though I don't meet many of those needs. On that note, I was wondering if you did any tutorials/personal "drex" reflections for what makes a "good" video (in general)/intermediate video. Of course, there are things that might make a highly skilled spinners video pop, but surely, there must be ways that new spinners, or less experienced ones can make their videos look a bit better? Many of the rules are universal, but I can't help feeling that there may be a few points that might apply more to beginners or intermediates just starting out their journey on the video highway. In general, I find it annoyingly overcomplicated videoing myself and uploading, watching through etc...but somehow, I've also started to feel like I "need" to video myself so I can monitor and plan what I'm doing. Its kind of weird, cause I was quite happy spinning without videoing in the beginning. I know you must be flooded with posts and messages and may not get to this, but yeah, if you have such a video I'd love a sign post so I could see it, and if not, it might make an interesting tutorial for us newbs to learn from and improve our video making skills and/or learn about the different options in terms of style of video, artistry, equipment etc...lots of possible things to discuss...many thanks regardless, respect and appreciate what you do xx

I did tunneling . By myself years ago too. Never thought of that term. I called it a "black hole." A loop string over wrist with both going either same direction or opposites in one hand. The back one spins free and the front is held

dude you need to read all the old homeofpoi forum threads from late 90s/early 2000s, the british scene in that time, we predated the Vulcan stuff and influenced them *heavily*, people like Durbs, Strugz, MCP, MoM crew etc...
Love the feature of poiboy, I remember him before he drilled hard and became such a beast 🤣

romaro - the first time ever of contact poi in a video...
    poiboy's impossible video
    melting poi
but I really don't know how to order them.
also def transmissions from arizona in the first place.
one question though, do bending lights and nick w. famous vids considered tech enough?

pleease Vojta mekes better videos than tim, and dont get me wrong, tims ones are awesome, but Vojta's videos are mindblowing. The cuality, the landscapes, the shots, the music and the poi spinning are fantastic. Of course, is not tech but flow... what do u think drex?

I dont really consider myself a very techy spinner I kinda enjoy flowing and letting my intuition take me wherever it goes, nonetheless I did enjoy this video quite a lot
