I just watch the movie and my gosh she was terrifying. It also gave me something to think about, like how did people with mental illness cope when during the war? It’s hard and heartbreaking to imagine.
It's sad to think about. We have living proof - our grandparents. They lived through the war and did not have any therapy to turn to after it, so they all just raw-dogged it, suppressed it, committed suicide/went crazy. My grandparents carried a lot of trauma and it showed way later in their old age.
@@GEORGIANATOR123 Agreed it’s really sad. And there are Palestinian children who will be grieving after this and it will pass through generation. Our generation are just recovering from WWII and this, feels like we are back to zero. I hope you and your family are dealing with.
The past several years, during the pandemic, we’ve been able to witness firsthand what challenging times combined with mental illness can do to people. Their comments are all over social media and their conspiracy theories have driven wedges into their families. Plus, through social media, they’ve easily found other people who are of similarly unsound mind to reinforce their paranoid theories. It’s terrifying to see it play out and to see how widespread it is. We desperately need better mental health supports.
@@dollparts4918She's 1/2 German, she's from an unpopular family, she's married, and her husband is gonna be home in about 24 hours-something they probably know but don't want to spoil Howard's surprise. Not to mention the war is over in about 90 days.
They do that. My guess is that they don't want to be rude and say, "NEXT!" right when you appear before auditioning so they give you a shot anyways maybe also just to see what you got. They might use you
I like the theories that she really did that dance. But there was also that instantaneous, magical transformation of her face from tired to brilliant (occurring before the start of this clip). I think that implies some self-delusion about how she appears and how she's really performing.
I have taken a liking to Mia Goth and have studied her characters closely in the trilogy and this film in particular blows me away everytime. I love A24 so much for always executing horror so well. Id love to work with them.
It's funny that line has become her most iconic line from Pearl while the line that got stuck in my brain is " What are you doing here, Mr Goose?" Lol i literally say that all the time lol
Younger and blone. Id say thats been said more in the entertainment industry then any other sentence (Powerful metaphor seeing all the main people in her life as rejecting her in this moment)
MAXINE F*CKING MINX. The trilogy comes to an end with #MaXXXine, in theatres this Friday. Get tickets: vvsfilms.com/movie/maxxxine/

How we coped during COVID, maybe even worse than the world wars.

Why did they even let her audition if they already knew she didn't fit what they were looking for?
To say it face to face and see how she cries...😂
Who knows if she was really that good? The entire act was in her head. Imagine it without the other dancers, the set and fireworks that she imagined.

I agree. I love this movie

Possibly the most brilliant slasher film I’ve seen in a long time. An original spin of the genre
She was clearly a star. Those judges don't know what talent is.
I still wonder if she did an actual good dancing or they showed us what Pearl imagined????
She did the dance but all that extra stuff was in her head
The fireworks, the background and the dancers are all in Pearl's head
I think she was dancing like that, she mentioned practicing dancing in front of the photography guy and he would know what good dancing looked like

0:42 - this is kinda creepy. Just her standing up almost frozen with teeth upwards and grinning
foreshadows her smiling through the end credits
It's funny that line has become her most iconic line from Pearl while the line that got stuck in my brain is " What are you doing here, Mr Goose?" Lol i literally say that all the time lol
If somebody reacted that way I would think they continued their bit 😂 Bravo!😂😂😂

Good movie and acting for Mia Goth ❌❌❌
The desperation and tantrum were identical to the home-made videos by celebrities during COVID because no one paid attention to them.
