Tanner Witmer we call them rakes might throw a 30 foot sward into one makes the day a lot quicker

Seamus Doherty yeah we have rakes too but a merger like an Oxbo or ROC fold out and use a belt system to move hay. You get fewer rocks that way :)

Why lock the steering axle beside the harvester?

AgriFan I'm guessing it to stop the trailer from swinging in closer to the forager

The trailer tries to stay parallel to the tractor so if you're turning a corner next to the forager with it activated then the back end could hit the forager. It also makes the trailer movement more unpredictable for the forager driver who is aiming the pipe in it.

You open the steering axle when doing the outside rigs so it doing tear up the ground as much while turning the corners. Then open it for gate seats and lock it whilst on road so then the trailer is no where near as swaey
