Legal gun owners, never EVER give up your guns! History has many examples of what happens if you do!
One thing they will do, is ban bladed articles, using government fiat and postal services complicity to force that even where the law doesn't currently permit a de-jure ban, they can have a de facto unpossibility of actually having them manufactured or imported or shipped. Labour and ParcelFarce are currently seeking to ban 'swords' and other bladed articles - which is intended by ParcelFarce to include fencing feders/foils/epees/sabres no matter the material or edge/point geometry. Despite these being an actual exemption from some aspects of the 'knife crime' laws (bladed articles for sport/education/research/history are allowed an affirmative defence for carrying within an appropriate circumstance - as well as the religious exemption for Sikh knives - which are sharp).

I had two firearm deliveries from Canada Post.
The first time I lived with my Dad. The mailman left my rifle on my front porch while everyone was at work. The package clearly stated a signature was required before delivery, to prevent the firearm from sitting in public unsupervised. The package also clearly IDed itself as a firearm. Dad lives on a busy road.
The second time I lived at a hotel. The mailman left my pistol at the front desk with the stoner boy front desk clerk while I was at work. Same delivery instructions, same identifying packaging.
Canada Post cannot safely handle firearms on a good day. This confiscation program is a disaster in the making.
They left a 1911 in my mailbox exactly like your first scenario. They also left a M2 .50 cal. barrel leaning against the house at another time. It would have fit between the doors. It wasn't in a box. The response to complaints like this in that era was that the post office shouldn't have anything to do with firearms in the first place.
The pistol story is quite concerning. Especially where a pistol is a restricted firearm, there should be mechanisms in place to ensure restricted firearms are being shipped to someone with a valid PAL for restricted firearms. Even assuming you had the hotel address associated with your PAL card, as a restricted weapon, you would think that not only proof of age ID would be required before allowing someone to accept a package, but also that the valid PAL card for restricted weapons should be mandatory before turning over the package.
@@joelgraham6820 The delivery type was such that a consignee signature was required. With consignees, a designate can be used. The mailman, knowing he was holding a pistol, gave it to the wrong person on purpose, using designation.
Canada Post lacks the competencies to handle a single firearm delivery. They can't do this buyback. There will be many misplaced firearms. It can't be allowed.
Yes, I did legally live in the hotel. My room number was my apartment number on my ID.
@@theviolator1703 I'm not in support of a buy back method as suggested in the video, but even what you suggest happened displays huge gaps in the process of mailing firearms in general, especially those involving a clearly restricted firearm.
@@joelgraham6820 Oh yes, there are huge gaps. No one ever cared when the lost firearms were a slow drip but thousands at once might be another story.
The LPC is the other factor. They lose money constantly. They will 100% lose thousands of firearms. Loss of firearms works in the favor of the LPC. A shooting caused by a lost firearm provides fear and that's what the LPC wants from the firearms file. Fear.

All of this started in Nova Scotia with that shooter. A 54 year old man who did not have legal right to own firearms in the first place. He had a long history of uttering threats, beating his wife, and generally being a really violent psycho. One of his tenants complained to RCMP that he had shown them his collection of firearms and ammo. Back then he still didn't have the legal right to have guns, and he had been threatening people. The RCMP didn't do any investigations, never got a search warrant. Had the authorities used the existing Firearm laws they'd have searched his home, found the weapons, confiscated them, and probably have discovered his Mock RCMP Cruiser car and maybe even his collection of police uniforms.... Nothing was done and he later went on his rampage killing so many people in Nova Scotia. This gun grab is ridiculous, it is an infringement on people's rights, and it does nothing to solve the problem.
The lady police officer he killed used her gun to do it. He then went on the killing spree using a police issued weapon. Correct me if I'm wrong.
You're right. This who thing is a sham.
You're wrong, this didn't start because of NS - it startd LONG before the NS murders and the Liberals are not willing to turn down a good tragedy in order to propel their agenda.
Blame police where appropriate, but the reality is that its a murderous psycho who killed those innocent people and they will always find a way to do harm when society throws all of its trust into the government systems to protect them.
I am a police officer, and so was one of the victims of his rampage that died in the line of duty trying to stop him. I knew her and she was a lovely person. I respect all of the people who responded that day, including the person who ended him.
I'm also frustrated at the mistakes that were made along the way and changes have to be made in some areas, certainly. The NS murders should not be the case example for this horribls legislation, the shoe doesn't fit.
For what it's worth, and I respect your opinion and a lot of what you have to say.

Canada Post has bigger things to worry about. They need to ensure they dont lose $750,000,000 of our hard earned money again this year!!!
Is it not against the Law to ship a prohibited firearm?
here's the elephant in the room. To move these "illegal" firearms requires an authorization to transport to wherever you need to take them. Your authorization only allowed home to range. Now your authorization for even that has been nullified. This means you are not legally allowed to take your guns out of your residence. This means the government is going to have to have the police go to your home and seize it. Given many of these were in fact non restricted we are talking search and seizure of private property to every gun license holder, and others who once had a license, in the country which is not going to go over well. This means way more than 2.5M search and seizures. This means spending billions due to having to deploy swat to every property in case of a shoot out. This means taking the police away from actual crime investigation probably for years to complete this. Accidents are likely to happen.

Ian, could you please comment on the reported "wellness checks" using military personnel in Huron County and Goderich, Ontario. I suspect the only person asking for a wellness check is the federal government and, as such, is a flagrant violation of privacy laws and, depending on how they are conducted, a possible violation of our constitution.
Agreed , I too would love to hear his opinion on it, I smell a huge rat again.
A wellness check in and of itself is not really a violation of any privacy. No more than a Girl Scout is by knocking on your door to see if you'd like to buy some cookies.
It's a training exercise. You can't seriously tell me you've never heard of the CAF being used for emergency response for good reason? I mean, a few years back we had armoured CAF vehicles snow plowing the streets of Toronto and Montreal. Part of that response is making sure that people aren't starving, stuck, injured, sick, etc depending on the emergency. A wellness check.
I would be flabbergasted if this involves any more than a knock on the door, if answered a few questions of "do you need any help, or are you good" followed by "yes, I'm good" and they leave, or "no, I need some help" at which point they'll probably inquire about what you need and see what they can do about getting it to you, or you to it.
Like, this is pretty much what our military does to keep busy outside of combat operations. I'm not sure what the big deal is until/unless they're actually granted some sort of authority here. Which they aren't. Just don't answer your door if you don't wanna deal with them. This isn't a legitimate and substantiated wellness check, they're not gonna force entry because you don't answer or tell them where to shove it.
Who's money are they using to "buy back" ?
Guns ? Oh those Guns were lost in a boating accident.
