Okay let’s see. Fully agree with the Megalodon as a beginner water tame. I actually ended up accidentally bypassing the Icthy because I happened to be flying along the shoreline somewhere on the southern coast of the Island and I saw one semi trapped in an inlet. So I swooped down onto the rock and shot it with tranq darts from the rifle. I was astonished as I was doing it on an impulse. Generally agreed with the frog, Baryonyx and especially the raptor. It’s a bit of a pain to get three, but you can spec one into weight to ride on and the other two hp/stam and attack. Then the pack buff can kick in. Never tried the stegosaurus or trike because I didn’t like the lack of speed. I basically used a Tek Parasaur to run from trouble or relied on some Dilos until I got the Pterodactyl and forsook ground mounts altogether for awhile. 😆 But even after I transitioned from Pterodactyl to Argentavis I still found a good use for them as “rescue flyers.” Basically I would build a simple stone hut with a bed, storage unit with a basic set of weapons/armour/ gear inside, a campfire and preservation bin inside. I would usually build a double wall around it to prevent clipping issues, build a feeding trough and have a dino gate installed. The Pterodactyl would be kept inside the hut or… later on I would add a second room to house it. The plan was that after building a network of these simple outposts, if I died but the body and/or mount were recoverable then I wouldn’t be far from a safe respawn spot. Then I could grab the spare gear, hop on the Pterodactyl and have a fast and convenient way to go to retrieve the body/mount. 😆 I’m always frustrated when that happens so a fast flyer was preferable. Although it’s not technically a tame, but a new player would want to build a raft. If done right a lot of things can be fitted in the hut to serve as a safe mobile home and dino ferry. If one place becomes too dangerous then you can just move away to a new location. Really the only flaw was having to stick to shallow water due to that whale. Also Trilobites are an exceptional way to get chitin and oil from in the early stages. They are most prominent at dWn
But the problem is i cant tame the theri cuz i cant craft the exeptional kibble it likes and i dont habe enough drugs to tame it so it will be a bummer
