Kosei Inoue has godlike technique. Once he locks on a grip, his opponent is in trouble. His uchimata comes out of nowhere and with precise form. To outclass Shintaro is really saying something because we all know Shintaro would rag doll most of the black belts in the world. For Inoue to be on another level beyond Shin's is just breathtaking.
Kosei is taller and really goes for the high grip, which is very dominating once you have it. Shintaro was putting a lot of resistance, but after the uchi mata, it went downhill fast, like when you start loosing in chess - you keep making the mistakes. That uchi mata try by Shintaro was good, but it is crazy how fast Kosei avoided it. Maybe Shintaro could have gone to drop seo nage, but it is rarely done at this category.
I once went to my instructor's home while in college. We saw his trophies displayed in one room. They were all first place. I asked him where the 2nd and 3rd place trophies were and he said that he threw them out. He was amazing to me, but everyone gets beat at some point. It wouldn't be any fun if they didn't.
Olympic gold medalists in Judo are like alien beings. For anyone to handle Shintaro like that - someone extraordinarily capable and competitive - looks like they're practicing magic.
@@李振藩-t3c harai. he blocks with the hip and applies a leg reap to counter the hip slide (accidental or not. and lets remember harai goshi is an "enhanced" uki goshi). tai otoshi doesnt require hip nor leg contact, but it would have required a violent change in direction, as tai otoshi is a very forward throw, but this one was side-ish.
Not me, no 😁 You must be glad there is even room for people to stand on the side. In my dojo, people hit the concrete walls so often, we offer ourselves us as human shields...
Shintaro, would a professional Sumo wrestler (let's say he's 380 lbs) have an advantage as a Judoka in competitions if he were to start training in Judo?
Depends on what judoka we're talking about. Over a normal white belt? Of course. Over a comparably big and skilled judoka? They would be easily defeated as they don't have experience in grip-fighting with the judogi. For example, someone like Tatsuru Saito should be able to take down Hakuho in a judo fight with ease. Of course, the reverse is also true, Saito would be annihilated in a sumo match.
That Kosei dude is ok but no match for Shintaro. With more practice he would have a chance. This randori looks so chill compared to what you see on average dojo. But why are the spectators on the mat area in the way? Wearing shoes even.
Is that really Inoue? he looks very different. In any case he should have allowed Higashi to throw him a few times because he had a natural advantage of greater height and weight.
They were both high-level competitors in the same weight category, I'm sure what Higashi wanted from this fight was to test himself against a top-tier's judo.
I watched this years ago and never realized it was Shintaro!
Same here!
Same here! Inoue is so freaking talented, incredible!
Shintaro “I got bombed by Inoue” Higashi lol
It's interesting to see how he never even attempts a throw until he's totally in control of his opponent.
He is in his head.
Good observation. Because of that his throws are super clean
When Kosei gets that grip high on the lapel it's unstoppable. Truly one of the greatest of all time and easily my favorite judoka
Inoue's Uchimata is insane.
It's amazing how at 0:17 Inoue used a Jedi mind trick (or super-speed) to throw the guy beside him.
Fr fr, i didn't know Inoue was also an Aikido sensei!!
Great example of how previous attacks are used as setups. Onos ability to adapt to your reactions was amazing
That's Kosei Inoue, not Shohei Ono. But both of them are legendary for their deadly uchimata's.
@valeyard00 ahh thanks I watched it a while ago and went on memory
No way I get to see these 2 legends sparring
This is incredible footage, thank you for sharing!!!
Wow awesome! Would love a narrated version!

Tokyo Police Judo team are all on that level. All Japan champions they don't care about Olympic Medals.

A wonderful video showing a blend of fighting spirt and fighting for your life. Bravo!
Inoue can be both gentle and savage at once. Judo is crazy.
Thank you for sharing, I’m sure that was a great learning day
I remember stumbling on this video ages ago and going 'man is that shintaro higashi?'. Inoue is so good.
Thank you for sharing!
Guy is another level! Love it
Thank you for sharing this great footage.
Looks surreal to see Shintaro getting outclassed

one of the best things I ever saw tbh. More randori videos please senpai!

Brutal! Gold never disappoints.
Great Randori Session.

The Japanese Judokha's are on another level
only 3 ippons in 4 minutes, not so bad, he is Inoue!! 👍
Kosei Inoue is in another level!
what is the sweep at around 1:45 called? is the placement of toris foot such that it pulls ukes knee forward?
Hiza Guruma
Hay diferencia en pesos .... gracias por compartir maestro Shintaro 🎉🎉🎉🎉
mala excusa. los dos competían en la misma categoría
His Oguruma at the end was intense.
How can you throw him if he has the dominant grip all game.
Kosei is a freakin rock, insane technique
This is awesome 😮
Amazing
That’s intense randori
I was there for this Randori session.
I didn't realize Inoue was that strong.
Amazing!
Is Shintaro with the USA patch?
2:27 was filthy 😂 I’m a judo enjoyer, not a judoka. What was that combo?
uchi mata to harai goshi

literally like 2 bulls going at it

Tech judo 2007?
Shintaro is built like a tank
2:28 wow.
Inoue’s a beast!
Impossible to establish even a decent grip against Inoue. Longer reach, taller, heavier, stronger and way more skilled
What year? Based on a leg grab follow up, I'm guessing around 2005?
2012
Shintaro looks so young !!
I remember that day.
Oh my god little Shintaro was such a cutie!
Wow😮😯😲
Nice ending 😂
Does anyone still call you shin?
Wow....
Shintaro is still relatively young

Japanese judo is so beautiful
1 segundo inoue leva para executar o golpe e derrubar depois que faz a pegada....muito rápido!!!

Not sure who’s who
LET'S all take a moment to appreciate how well Sensei Higashi aged 💪💪💪

@@tl8211 I did not know that higashi was a top level competitor. I thought he was a sensei teaching judo in NYC.
@@PilgrimsProgress7 In 2011 Shintaro was ranked 51st in the world for their weight category. This was just a year later.
shido desune
Pure strength game

sleeves of Kosei's gi shorter than shintaro's so it makes more advantage for him in this randori.
lol
