I can't thank you enough. I'm a home roaster and caffeine makes my blood pressure spike. Since I started drinking decaf in no longer like the feeling of being caffeinated but I still love coffee. Your videos are very helpful.
LOVE this series! You implied this in your video but it's worth restating: ANY coffee can be decaffeinated! From dry processed Ethiopia to washed Indonesian Sumatra. There is a huge world of amazing decaf coffees out there. It all we do over here at Outlier Coffee. All decaf all the time :-)
Cool, definitely following along! I’d like to enjoy more coffee in the evening during the week but can’t because then I can’t sleep. So this could be the solution!!
Great job! You have decaf drinkers like me dead-on. I have been drinking decaf for a LONG time, because I love everything about coffee but the jitters. Looking forward to seeing the whole series.
Apparently the decaffeination process not only removes caffeine, but also - a compound responsible for SURFACE TENSION, which allows your creamer to float on the surface of the drink. WHICH decaffeination process preserves this compound?
Are you thinking cream or powdered creamer? We've literally never used powdered creamer, but cream and whole milk emulsify readily in all of our decaf coffees.
The only critique I have for this, is that it's generally not very cost efficient to do an NA beer. Kombucha tends to fill the void too for people, and now they even have Kombucha style drinks without the vinegar taste that throws people off.
I submit that decaf coffee drinkers like coffee more than Death Before Decaf drinkers. They love the coffee just for the taste and not the caffeine benefits
How can I like this video 10000 times!! Thanks so much for doing this. Decaf really needs a total movement!

Glad to see you on the roaster Lauren! So much good here. Excited for the rest of the series.

Nice job Lauren! This is an excellent topic, and I’ll be following it. Thanks for posting.
Great info and ideas! Would you also be able to make general recs for roasting decaf in general for say....a Sumatran?
This is a very good video, I gave up roasting decaf , but now looking forward to see you roasting some of it!

OMG Thank you! This is the series I've been waiting for! I've been struggling to nail decafs and already bought the beans to roast along!
