Thank you. You are a talented presenter and educator.
Great job, you speak so well, informative and friendly! 👌
It’d be nice to see a shot of the beans after you roasted them to see the color. Loving the series, getting my first batch of decaf coffee next week.
Thanks for the tip on the shiny/oily/sweaty result Lauren! Having just sample roasted my first series of Columbian E.A. beans I was quite surprised and curious as to why they were tasting like a light-medium roast yet were 'sweaty'. Your videos are so helpful.
:)
Thanks for the great work, Lauren. This series motivates me to really get into decafs. Happy roasting!
Another helpful video Lauren, thank you! I have a question, i think you said end temp was 374? How does that compare to end temp for, say, a typical regular washed colombian on that roaster?
Hey Keith, thanks for watching! For that roaster, a drop temp of 374F (on the PID probe) isn't unusual, but it is on the lighter side overall. When we profile roast on that machine our finish temps range between 375-395, and the BT probe would probably read closer to 390-410 for that same range.
