I have just bumped into your story and I’m truly impressed, why? Because we’re similar in so many ways, I’m single, have never been married or live with someone, I’m an introvert and love books, history, geography, from my siblings and friends, most of them failed in marriage life and ended up divorced, separated...I would say, being single and contented is the most happy life of all. I’m wishing you good health 🙏 Greetings from Hong Kong 🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳

Life is about WHO you are and HOW you live YOUR life. It is not about living someone else's life because so many (who won't see or admit it.) are simply existing; not living. Love is not found just between people. It is the love of life, of nature, of books and literature, of music and so much more. As we get older we learn the real love re living, of sharing, of caring of LIFE. What we have when we breathe our last are our MEMORIES AND reflections on the good, the bad or the indifferent is not someone else's but OUR LIFE, OUR LOVE, OUR MEMORIES. Life to me is like matured wine.. or a memorable aged malt whiskey. Stay safe my friend and I look forward to seeing more vids. 👍

I find Richard a man of exceptional character and extremely brave. I applaud you for your courage to learn Chinese. Question is why Chinese? What attracted you to the language? Do you think the mainland simplified chinese should revert back to the traditional form? It must make you so proud to have received a touching letter from your mother stating she is PROUD of the work you have done. I would certainly would be. Thank you Richard for your contribution to this world.

Hi Mr. Sears. I hope this message finds you in both good health and state of Mind. I'd never commented publicly much at all as far as I could remember in all the years of my browsing but I could not help but say this, there is one thing that you could do and that is, to dedicate all your Merits and good deeds to your family members, this could very well help them in wherever they are now. Just dedicate all the Virtues and Merits of all that you'd accumulated in your lifetime to them. It'd be truly great if could dedicate all the Virtues and Merits that you had carried out to them since Beginningless Time. Do it with all your heart. It would be best if you could meditate and sit quietly with that question of 'Who am I' persistently. These are Koans in Zen Meditation. Another Koan would be 'If two hands clap and make a sound, what is the sound of one hand clapping?'. Investigate thoroughly. After that you could dedicate all the Merits and Virtues accumulated to them too.

They do not teach or teach in cantonese in mainland china, plus there are bigger Chinese languages like Wu and Min which are slowly fading away as the older generation stops teaching the younger generation. As main landers from the north travel to the tier 1 cities like guangzhou and shenzhen, Mandarin will be the dominate way of communication, so as china industrialise and technologize there will be an influx of mandarin speakers and other chinese language speakers to tier 1 cities, forcing everyone to use the common language 普通话. China may be a mono-language country in the next 200 years once all the different ethnicity groups are assimilated and integrated into Chinese culture and taught Mandarin.

    • @lv9657

I am surprised you mentioned Cantonese will becomes very common instead of Mandarin or Putonghua as it called in China, well maybe true if inside certain parts of Guangzhou, HK & Macau but outside these regions and many parts of the world, Mandarin or Putonghua is most common now.
