The tool you use right after cutting the grass, what is it for? Do you spread the freshly cut grass and then use another tool to gather it into rows?

Yes, it's for making hay instead of just plain gras. It's called a tedder. You shake up the grass (and in real life let it dry up), than you windrow it into swaths and bale it up or pick it up in a forage trailer. In the game hay is much better cowfood than plain grass...
