I dedicate this to the two little boys I used to nanny. Their dad made a mistake one night, and I had to leave them. They have my heart still.. even after all this time. Even though they will grow up and forget me, I will never ever forget them. I wish them the best in life.
God sent me this song Easter Sunday of 2019 when I was deathly ill. I am getting better and stronger. It's now time for me to dance. I know what I have to do now. My purpose in life. The reason God saved me from the grave. Praise the Lord!!
My grandfather was diagnosed with lymphoma when I was in 8th grade. We were told he would live for around 6 months. I played him this song and we danced to it in his living room right after we found out. 7 years later he is still alive and he is doing well. I am getting married next Saturday and he is walking me down the aisle. He said our first dance song will be a surprise, and I am pretty sure it will be this song. Pray I make it through without bawling
My friends license plate was DANZ4EVR ...she passed in a car accident 4 yrs ago....her nickname was "Salsa"...yesterday she came to me as a Monarch butterfly, (I swear). I left to buy a trellis for the plant that the butterfly was loving...long story short, this song came on and reminded me that Salsa would want me to dance. I am a kidney patient and this took my breath away and brought me to tears. I mean, to the point I had to pull into a parking lot and SOB...I feel ABSOLUTELY renewed knowing "Salsa" is dancing with the Angels and teaching them a few new steps. I will never turn down the chance to dance again....DANZ4EVR My dear friend, I will in honor of you......Thank you for such an amazing song to remind me....
Good morning Lynda....,your lines touch me a great deal........your friends license plate .....her death....this song.....maybe your friend really was that butterfly just fluttering by to see you and thinking that you are what one truly calls a friend ...we never know.....do you...? Keep your memory about your friend awake-always.....and may your kidneys be tough fighters and dont let you suffer more than they already did.... By the way...I am teaching english to germans.....and your last name in german means :seeds........the beginning of life..... Take care Lynda... Roger
I can't believe I will live the rest of my life without you grandma. I swear I have never seen such a beautiful being. I promise to give faith a fighting chance. I hope to see you in Heaven
"Dont let some hell bent heart leave you bitter, when you come close to selling out, reconsider...Give the heavens above more then just a passing glance"... What a serene, profound, and uplifting concept to NEVER forget and always live by !!!
The most beautiful quote “ When you come close to selling out , reconsider” So much temptations out there , so much pain , so many monster’s , Its so easy to do bad things.. to be a monster and be selfish.. Its so hard to be pure and remain true to yourself. But I will never sell out .. Because without genuine love for other people and yourself. Life is not worth living.. You are just a walking corpse. Love and peace .. Always stay strong.. God bless you
My little sister just passed away and this song was played at the end of the memorial. It was beautiful! Rest In Peace my beautiful sister, I love you always💕
I never had a sister that loved me like that. She 7 years nine months older and was jealous, mean, abused me mentally and physically. Now, at 71 years old she says I love you. I'm 63 and had a massive heart attack in 2016. My son and I took care of OUR Mom and her house was broken into while my wealthy brother found it and he never called the police. She accused me of stealing from the ransacked house. My sister was a lifetime of abuse for me.
this was one of my sister tina's favorite songs... lost her to cancer 2016 ❤️💕 not a day passes by i don't think of her even more wen i hear this beautiful song... was played at her funeral 💐 until we meet again my dearest sister; alway/ ever in my heart ❤️ love ur brother; jimmy
Kenrick Bautista, have read that this song was a fav of poet Maya Angelou; Womack performed it at her mem. service 6/2014... hopefully we will play it later this week when "we stand beside the ocean" & scatter our parents' ashes under the Golden Gate Bridge, as both a tribute to our mother in particular (who was disabled & faced many hardships in her life) as well as her message to us going forward... I've now adopted this song as one of my personal motivational anthems.
My grandmother dedicated this to me when I was 15 right after she was diagnosed with cancer. She passed Dec 2014 and every time I get down I'll listen to this and it feels like she's talking to me
I'm sorry . My mother past on this yr . I know she dancing, singing, all the things she couldn't do the last 3 yrs she was living because of COPD. I can't wait to see her again! NC

After the birth of my daughter and experiencing the unconditional love I feel for her, this song became to me, the best song ever written. Just my opinion, and believe me, it's very hard to say "the best song ever written" but this says everything I want to say to my daughter. God bless all.
this was a song my mom always used to sing to my sister and i, she told us that this was the way she hoped we lived our lives.... my mother passed away a few days ago and i've just been listening to this on repeat
09/04/21... in New Orleans, LA. After hurricane Ida. My 9 yr old daughter requested this song. After 1 week of no power...she wanted to dance with me (her dad). God bless America and God bless us all
You have the precious good fortune to be aware of mortality and the importance of the message in this song at the young age of 13. Let it guide you your whole life and you will not regret it. I am in my 50s. I caught on to the importance of this in my 40s. Don't want until then.
Dear Schubert Aloysius, I have noticed from your post that it is from 4 years ago, so you probably won't see this message that I write to you now. It is sad that you are an orphan, life can be difficult for anyone, and to be alone, or feel alone in this huge complicated world must be devastating; dangerous and traumatic. But there are also millions of children in this world who live in extremely abusive situations and can't leave the place where they live, nor get away from the perpetrators. Life isn't always, good nor kind, what we want, or wish that it could be, but through adversity it teaches us many lessons; one of which is for us to deal with whatever life throws at us, so that we find the strength to live and learn, and become who we are supposed to be. I hope and pray that by this time you are well and have people around you who care about you, and for you to live a long happy life, I hope too that you will always dance to the songs that sooth your loving soul. - "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." - Plato.
Thank you for sharing this comment. Not a day goes by that I don't think of Maya Angelou. It's important to.pass on what we love before the time is gone.
I’ve dedicated this beautiful, inspiring and hopeful song to my loving and dear children. Hoping it inspires their soul whenever they get weary in their journey.
my mom past 13 years ago of cancer. I'm 14. this was her favourite song. I cried at my sisters wedding cuz she played this song for my mom. I cry every single time
A few years ago I printed the words to this song and gave to my daughters as a Christmas present. As a Mother, these words say it all. I have multiple daughters of heart, but only three by birth. Precious!
This is the last song I played before my little girl passed during my first ultrasound. I love you Allie Ann. Fly high babygirl. Mommy and Daddy love you more then anything in this world.❤
My Grandpa is in ICU and very little chance of him surviving! I wish I could do anything, it shook me so bad. He has been my hero, role-model and I just cant let him go away from my life like this! My faith has shaken, I have nowhere to go! I love him so much, I wish God would have taken ME instead of HIM!
My mother in law is struggling with Alzheimer's and my husband lost his Father this year. All I can do is love him through it. He says he feels closer to his Father now because he is in his heart and sees him everywhere
These are thing I taught my children. Never have to look back on life and say to you self "I wished I had done that". Many worthwhile adventures requires youth and a wonder to do. Years later in life it would be physically impossible for many. For you are only young once and many opportunities are presented only once in life. Living on the edge is where life is exciting and too soon twilight is upon you and you can only "look back on their years and wonder where the years have gone". And that is sad.
You are so right. After college I was drafted into the Marines during Vietnam. After I got out, I realized how short life can be so I learned to jump out of planes. After that I got my private pilot's license and flew small planes for over 40 years. Along the way I also got a black belt in karate. Now I am 74 and can truthfully say that I did a lot as a young man and have no regrets.
Thanks for posting! Whenever I miss my dad (he died at 88 and danced up to his last year alive!) and i miss my sister (at 50 y/o she had a stoke, was paralyzed on one side, then tragically died.) We played this song as each funeral...i pray both can dance and move freely in Heaven....no longer chained by the times of grief brought by their earthly bodies. Thank You, CNlovesmusic, for sharing and helping me remember the good times. xo
+Amber Ouellet There are songs with so much emotion and so much gravitas you can't help but feel swallowed and enraptured by the power. This is a rare song. It's probably the single most poweful song and it's message is clear and impactful, and hits home because anyone can relate to it. It's magical and passionate. It makes me cry at times too, because it brings back hope and love. Give me another song out there that can do that.
This was my moms song to me and she sang it to me and always said, this is what I hope for you. She died four years ago and I cry every time I hear this. This is my motivational song.
I dedicate this song to cancer patient's, how ever not all of them are here with us some spend their time up in heaven. Not only to cancer patients, but to my best friend. My grandma too, god bless all!
This was my grandma's song... she died in 2005 and think of her every time this song comes on the radio.... She's in Heaven now.. I just hope she is looking down on me and am proud of the man I am now. I can't wait to dance with her in Heaven
Our mother left the family with this song said if we ever need to talk to her once shes gone toplay this song and shell be there for us. Also my granddaughter has a tattoo on her fore arm with the words ... I hope you dance. Its been 9 yrs. Since mommy passed of cancer, and I listen to it often just to feel her close by....Bless you and Thank you Lee Ann 💖 p.s. my sister & I are 5 yrs apart. Mom said your video reminded her of us.😍❤
My sister loved this song. She died 4 years ago of Alzheimer's. When I want to feel her close I hear this song. She always dedicated to me. God Bless you all ❤️
Me and my close friend haven't seen each other in months. We got together a few days ago and we went to the beach. While we stood at the shore and watched the waves crash, I told her how it made me feel small. Then she sent me this song, and now I love it. I don't know when I'll see her again, but this song reminds me of her and the great times we had together.
This is a breath taking , wonderful and soul soothing song , never get tired of hearing this heart warming song.....God bless her singing this song for the people who can appreciate the true meaning of it.!!!
This song I sang to my best friend when his wife also my friend passed away! Little did I know a few years later he would be my husband! What a wonderful man. We love you always Millie!!
My son played this song at his wedding, for the mother, son dance. He went through so much in his life. I just wanted him to dance, and take a chance! Love u son!!
I grew up with rock and roll, R&B, but this is ONE song that i really love ! And i say to Lee Ann Womack - " County girl, you did a perfect country song!" - I love your singing baby! And the background music is so wonderful with photos! You negatiive people are missing out! Edmondo
Very inspirational, motivational and overcoming song. I wasn’t going to exercise this morning , but when ai thought about it’s people that can’t get out of bed and physically can’t I said I need to get up and do it and be thankful that I can 💪🏿💯. Time does fly and this song gives you hope
I heard this song for the first time at WASSON HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION MAY 23,2012 in Colorado Springs. What a Special song. I love listening to it,(remind me the day a special person I truly love (Ariel) Graduated with honor. Class of 2012 i hope you all are Dancing. GOD BLESS YOU ALL,!!!!
"I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean", "May you never take one single breath for granted", "Living might mean taking chances, but they're worth taking. Loving might be a mistake, but it's worth making" some of the most beautiful, powerful and true words ever sung.
I am listening in 2020 and still coming to tears. I think we all need to be reminded to give faith a fighting chance. Life isn't easy, but music like this reminds us we are not alone, and there is so much to live for.
LeeAnn God bless you with this awesome voice and song and share it ❤️ the world thank you it is my best favorite songs it makes me to just love and appreciate God's wonderful creation ❤️ those words are so inspiring ❤️ 💖
Absolutely the song I wanted to sing to Robbie who passed on 09/20/20 of cancer. He loved Christmas and I sang to him and played Christmas Songs and told him that he had nothing to fear for he was coming home to his creator. I love Robbie dearly and miss him. I am happy he is not in pain and suffering anymore.
This was my mom's song to me. I was looking through my baby book earlier and in her letter to me before I was born, she said it at the end. I always knew this but forgot about it. She passed away in an accident we were in 8 months ago.
I love this song and it inspires me and makes me want to dedicate it to everyone in the world who might feel hopeless at certain times in their lives, but in those times we do have a choice! It may be easier to give up and more tempting also, yet the better choice though may be harder will in the end be easier and along with that comes the mysterious rewards of making the better choice not to EVER give up!!! love, Ana
This was my mom's and I song. She has passed now and I hope she is dancing in heaven now. No more pain, a new body, and dancing for joy! I love you Mom!
Since my son was a baby, I have thought about him every time this song is played. I want him to do the best of everything in his life and pray he always puts God first and all good things will follow. We had a bad car accident when he was 1 and we both survived. We are God's miracle and he deserves our best so pray that we both dance in the way God wants our lives. I was thrown out of a car found 12 feet from it in a creek. No way I should be alive; that is GOD'S work. My son 3 stitches at 1.
You made a wise choice not responding to their negativity. Let God handle them and you keep your head high and stay positive. I've been through the same thing. And everyone who bullied me or mistreated me after high school now look like the dirt on the bottom of my shoe. Don't give up!!! It gets better trust me :-))
my middle school just graduated and im gonna miss them all we played this song and all the girls cried, even some boys. my school was a bond that had been together since kindergarden and i never had the thought of leaving them. missing the people you loved the most and the memories that we had will never fade. Bobcats for life
I have three sons now teenagers and they know I love this song and dedicate these words to them as they launch into the world as independent young men. This song literally brings tears to my eyes each and every time I hear it. My boys know to stop and pause if they hear it play because I feel these lyrics are so powerful and represent how I hope my boys will view and take on the world. Amazing song Lee Ann Womack - thank you!
2:45 always takes my breath away. The emotion in the vocal combined with the instrumentals, the soaring violins and the rich cello sound; it makes your heart feel like flying and at the same time tugs on your heartstrings like no other. The verse begins on light, airy instrumentals, giving the sense of soaring in the air, then the instrumental parts harmonize and build up toward the end to prepare for the final and most powerful emotional surge of the song. It is truly, musically beautiful, and the amazing lyrics only enhance it further.
I lost my cousin when he was 18 and I am 14 a few weeks ago and this made me miss him. Lachie I love you. I miss you. I would trade everything u have ever worked for to hear you laugh or see you smile or hear you say love ya one more time. I would give an arm and a leg to give you a hug and tell you how much I love you. I wish you nothing but joy and happiness in heaven and although I am having a hard time right now I promise I will wake up tomorrow with a smile that will make you proud. I love you I miss you. Rest in piece Lachie. See you in 90 years xx. Love forever and ever Ellaxx This song makes me think about him and how goofy and what a magical sense of humour he had. People always say that someone's smile will brighten a room but this was actually tie case with lachie. His goofy grin a,ways made everyone around him laugh and smile alongside him. My family is strong and we will take you with us for our life journeys lachie. I love you lachie. Rest in Peice
Jean Weigel first off you have a LOT of unnecessary capital letters. Second of all VIDEO??? VIDEO????? This is as far from.VIDEO as you can get. I have SEEN the video to this and it ain't a bunch of words on the screen and a song in the background. This has lee Ann and some dancers dancing to the song and it has both of her daughters in it as well. This does not have NONE of that stuff. The one with lee ann and her daughters is the only VIDEO on the planet for this. Other than that whatever you find that has this song in the background on youtube is called an AUDIO. This is AUDIO. Good GOD how do you not know the difference and yet you're on social media
My grandfather used to sing this song to me when i was little, and i became a dancer now... I'm only 13, but still a dancer... He's gone now, since June of last year.... I always listen to this song and remember him, and dance every dance just for him.. This will definately be played at my wedding.... I'll see you soon, and am happy you get to watch me grow up from the heavens...... I LOVE YOU, POP-POP!
i love this song so much, i dont know why but this is the only song that completly clears my mind from all the bad things and makes me so happy and releves so much stress. such a beautiful song.
i love this song,it has such a great meaning. This is the song that will always be with me when i feel try to give up on anything. The people i have for singing this song to me are my grandmother who passed away from cancer, but everynight she sang this to me as a reminder life is hard but keep going on no matter what.R.I.P grandma i love you. the other person i have to thank is my mom who kept the same song and meaning in my head as my grandma did,you r the reason i am the person i am.To all of you who feel that theres no hope there is always hope in your heart so dig deep and youll find it,then spread your wings and fly like an angle with love and care.Thank you to all the people who never gave in to the stress and kept going, your the people who r changing the world
I think about my two older cousins are graduating next year (Ik that's a long ways away) when I hear this song, I want to dedicate this beautiful song to them and show them how much I love and appreciate them. You two girls have been such good cousins/bffs/sisters to me. I love you two and with everything wish you two girls the best in life! I'll miss you two so much! :'(
This is the first time I heard this song. And the reason I listened to this because I played a game that will match your personality to the song. Thank you I got a chance to listen to this and add to my favorite song.
I heard bits and pieces of this song over the years but sat down and really listened to it today...then I got up and danced and cried. I'll never be the same.
I love this song. I think we all do. It never will get old. I've thought about this song, and want it played at my funeral. :) Because, now, or when the time comes..I'm in heaven...I will always want my children, family, friends, and loved ones..to always continue to dance, never give up, hold on, and keep their faith too.
I had 12 surgeries in a 4 year period, and my Doctor made me a CD of music to listen to to help with recover. This song though he dedicated it to me, and the words as if he is talking to me is so very special to my heart...Great job with the lyrics and beautiful video! I always choose to dance!
My RA sent this song to me. It is just my tears out. I am suffering something now and hard to go through it. She was so patient to hear my poor english expression cuz i am an international students. Thanks to her which also let me believe American people are very nice.
I dedicate this to the two little boys I used to nanny. Their dad made a mistake one night, and I had to leave them. They have my heart still.. even after all this time. Even though they will grow up and forget me, I will never ever forget them. I wish them the best in life.
Soo sweet of you🤎
Hope you remeber them !

@@jane178 sorry that happened to you but you definitely could’ve made you own comment instead of souring the commenters kind dedication.
I am so sorry for your loss
So sorry for your loss, I want this song played at my funeral too and hope my boys do indeed give faith a chance.
My deepest condolences.

same i understand well
It's hard not to cry when you sing it with her. She performed at my high school in 2005 and I was in the choir, just amazing.
Wisdom..!! good to have at 13 :-)

Bless yoyu!!
Love to you all these years since you typed that. I hope you found something that feels like family.
i know right?
Schubert Aloysius I have no mom and I'm only 9
Dear Schubert Aloysius, I have noticed from your post that it is from 4 years ago, so you probably won't see this message that I write to you now. This was one of Maya Angelou's favorite songs. Lee Ann has been requested to sing it at Dr. Angelou's funeral. What an honor.
I want it at my funeral.
Thanks for sharing this! Cool to know ❤️🙏🏻
I'm gonna look you sister 💝

Thank you for sharing this comment. Not a day goes by that I don't think of Maya Angelou. It's important to.pass on what we love before the time is gone.

gøtøbed yøu peiceøf shøf my condolences. Sorry to hear that
A few years ago I printed the words to this song and gave to my daughters as a Christmas present. As a Mother, these words say it all. I have multiple daughters of heart, but only three by birth. Precious!
This is the last song I played before my little girl passed during my first ultrasound. I love you Allie Ann. Fly high babygirl. Mommy and Daddy love you more then anything in this world.❤
I was sent this song by an angel last year.. The beauty of spirit is immortal ❤
This song isn't going anywhere, it will live on until our last days, bet on it. #legendary
I wish I could sing this song with her
2020. You right.
absolutely
Thank You, CNlovesmusic, for sharing and helping me remember the good times. xo
Of all the songs in the world, I chose this one to dance with my son to at his upcoming wedding. This one just does it for me.
That is beautiful, I always said this son was for my sons and if they do get married I want to dance with them to this song xxx
Hello Katie
my aunt listened to this song, always and she passed of cancer and we will always remember her with this song. brings me to tears all the time.
This song is so motivating it makes me feel so grateful 😂
This song always makes me cry but in a good, true, motivating way.
Amber Ouellet my name is jennifer e vankirk and freadly freaderick our love song thank you so much
that's because you're gay
geo geo that's very rude
Me to but I love it
In the end, all evil will be gone and everyone left WILL dance!

This was my moms song to me and she sang it to me and always said, this is what I hope for you. She died four years ago and I cry every time I hear this. This is my motivational song.

Such a beautiful song, it's my song from my beautiful Mom!!! GOD is so good ALL the time!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✨✨✨💖💖💖

Hello Mary
"I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean", "May you never take one single breath for granted", "Living might mean taking chances, but they're worth taking. Loving might be a mistake, but it's worth making" some of the most beautiful, powerful and true words ever sung.
Bliss and Zack brought me here #Love is Blind Season 4
I am listening in 2020 and still coming to tears. I think we all need to be reminded to give faith a fighting chance. Life isn't easy, but music like this reminds us we are not alone, and there is so much to live for.
LeeAnn God bless you with this awesome voice and song and share it ❤️ the world thank you it is my best favorite songs it makes me to just love and appreciate God's wonderful creation ❤️ those words are so inspiring ❤️ 💖
To the people who used to bring me down and pick on me, I hope you dance cause I sure will.
Bless your heart ❤️
This was my mom's song to me. I was looking through my baby book earlier and in her letter to me before I was born, she said it at the end. I always knew this but forgot about it. She passed away in an accident we were in 8 months ago.
I love this song and it inspires me and makes me want to dedicate it to everyone in the world who might feel hopeless at certain times in their lives, but in those times we do have a choice! It may be easier to give up and more tempting also, yet the better choice though may be harder will in the end be easier and along with that comes the mysterious rewards of making the better choice not to EVER give up!!! love, Ana
You have such a beautiful heart ❤️
this song touched my heart... i listen to it like 24/7's
it literally made me cry, i couldn't hold back the tears. :'-(
Love it.
This was my mom's and I song. She has passed now and I hope she is dancing in heaven now. No more pain, a new body, and dancing for joy! I love you Mom!
My mom danced to this song at her wedding... hopefully at my wedding I can do the same 😊
Beautiful son'gs thanks for sharing this wonderful vedio and music was great 💖🎶🎶🌸🌹🌺🙏
I just lost my Grandmother recently. This song makes me think of her. :(
I'll miss you grandma. RIP.
I love this song. It's helped me get through some tough times in the past decade, including 4 years of living in a car.
I dedicate this song to my two sons Chris and Cody THE LOVES OF MY LIFE...
That's incredibly sweet and just lovely! They're lucky to have you as their mom! 💕
Bobcats for life
Been broken💔 but I still dance💃🏽
And you're still here dancing!!!
You'll get it back together promise. N keep dancing ❤️
6 years later hope their doing great!
Love forever and ever Ellaxx
This song makes me think about him and how goofy and what a magical sense of humour he had. People always say that someone's smile will brighten a room but this was actually tie case with lachie. His goofy grin a,ways made everyone around him laugh and smile alongside him. My family is strong and we will take you with us for our life journeys lachie. I love you lachie. Rest in Peice
Lee Ann sang a beautiful rendition of this during the memorial service for Maya Angelou, who loved country music.
Hello Deborah
Simply Beautiful Video and Song. Thank you for sharing and creating.
This song reminds me of my grandma
Hello Nicole
My grandfather used to sing this song to me when i was little, and i became a dancer now... I'm only 13, but still a dancer... He's gone now, since June of last year.... I always listen to this song and remember him, and dance every dance just for him.. This will definately be played at my wedding.... I'll see you soon, and am happy you get to watch me grow up from the heavens...... I LOVE YOU, POP-POP!
This is terrifically uplifting and inspiring to a broken ❤️, body, and 🧠.
Thank You.
Love,
Brooke Kramer

Yes. I just sent this to my granddaughter who graduates from college Saturday. 🤗
This is the first time I heard this song. And the reason I listened to this because I played a game that will match your personality to the song. Thank you I got a chance to listen to this and add to my favorite song.
Belle Cabany it is such a beautiful song
I heard bits and pieces of this song over the years but sat down and really listened to it today...then I got up and danced and cried. I'll never be the same.
I love this song. I think we all do. It never will get old. I've thought about this song, and want it played at my funeral. :) Because, now, or when the time comes..I'm in heaven...I will always want my children, family, friends, and loved ones..to always continue to dance, never give up, hold on, and keep their faith too.
Hello Penny
I will have this song as a tribute to my younger sister, Roma O'Lynn, who passed away yesterday in N.Ireland.
I had 12 surgeries in a 4 year period, and my Doctor made me a CD of music to listen to to help with recover. This song though he dedicated it to me, and the words as if he is talking to me is so very special to my heart...Great job with the lyrics and beautiful video! I always choose to dance!
Hello Susan
that song say it all,I love it it's so beautiful !
My RA sent this song to me. It is just my tears out. I am suffering something now and hard to go through it. She was so patient to hear my poor english expression cuz i am an international students. Thanks to her which also let me believe American people are very nice.
