Hi mate I hope you are well Sorry for audio issues.. It a lovely shame about 2nd radius issues Great touch of tender having 2 lots of sprung buffers Thank you for the kind words and watching and commenting Keep safe ARP
Thanks for the plug Adi, yes you have the description in a nutshell. Connection was the biggest hurdle as you stated. It's a stunning looker and I'll be running it (all being well) live tomorrow. Cheers Adi, great review.
Great review of a lovely model. I might get one when funds allow. Sorry if I have missed any of your videos. I have been preoccupied with sorting out problems round the house. Gradually getting back to normal. Thanks for showing your super model. Regards Paul.
Hi h I hope you are well Sorry for the audio issue Yes nice loco tons better than gnr o2 Shame it doesn't like 2nd radius Am glad you like the video Keep safe ARP
Hi mr t I hope you are well Yes it great i feel the rapido UK ner h class (later lner y7) is a better model. Thsnk you for the kind words and watching and commenting and support and friendship Keep safe ARP
Cracking review Adi, it is a lovely looking locomotive. Not seen flange less centre driving wheels since the Triang early Hornby days, at least they appear to touch the track. I guess it's a compromise Rapido thought necessary to allow 2nd radius running due to the offset towards the front set, but yours seems to struggle a bit even with that.
@MikePhillips-ru6hw I did wonder that before posting so looked it up but found nothing to confirm it and studying many pictures thought I'd found one with flanges. Possibly a trick off the light
Hi Robin I hope you are well Sorry for the audio issue I believe the real model has flangeless middle wheel. Yes 2nd radius it not like it. Thank you for the kind words and watching and commenting Keep safe ARP
Yes, the flangeless wheels are prototypical. Apparently, it was due to the two forward axles being very close, meaning that there was no room for flanges on the middle axle. This was done because the firebox was (relatively) huge, which necessitated the rear axle being positioned directly under said 'box. I have heard it said that if the 'box had not been so big, the loco would have had an Atlantic wheel configuration. Regarding Triang flangeless wheels, I've just ordered the new Hornby 9F Black Prince, and this too has a flangeless middle axle, just like the prototype.
@AdiPullen Thanks Adi hope you are well.I went for No 106 in the light green. Hope Rapido do some more Highland railway locomotives in the future . Hope you have a good Christmas and all the best for the new year.
She is a nice engine. Pity she's not the exact same colour as a Christmas tree, lol. Just kidding, but I reckon she could look more Christmassy if you put some Christmas open wagons behind her. I'd like to see Hornby release a Toad Van in Christmas colours, it would make a great Christmas gift for modellers to buy and add to their railways.
Looking back over the past year it looks like absolutely nothing has been touched on your layout, so I'm guessing your channel is now just the standard youtube review channel with no railway modelling going on? Just wondering as your intro says model railway is your main hobby, but I'm guessing it's secondary. Pity, as it'd be nice to see your layout progress. Nice detailed review anyway, good photography
@AdiPullen not a disappointment. I'm just guessing that your focus has shifted from model railways to youtube product reviews that's all. And as you've said your layout is staying that way. Nothing wrong with that, just would've been nice to see it progress. But Adi, please, it likely takes considerably more time to edit one youtube video than it does to ballast some track, so in reality it's your hobby focus has changed that's all, whatever you find works for you, that's great.
Sorry for the audio issue at 9:25
Thorough and well put together, another great video Adi, you have done it justice. Lovely look in that Drummond green. Keep well mate
