@@James-kv6kb There are a number of differences between what you do and what Kym Gyngell did. (1) You're doing monologues, talking directly to a camera. Gyngell had to play the straight man in a dialogue, his partner being a rather crazy John Walker. (2) You're not playing in front of a live audience. The energy from the audience can sometimes make it difficult to keep a straight face. (3) Your character is jovial, so you can afford to smile and chuckle a little. You do not, by the way, keep a straight face throughout what you do. That's not a criticism, just as observation. Your character isn't required to keep a straight face. So, for you, it's easy. Now try to do it on a comedy show with a shooting schedule, a live audience, someone throwing jokes back at you, plus the knowledge that you're going to be viewed by a big television audience. Anyone can _say_ it's easy, but you're not doing what they did.
@@redback06 for some reason it's not letting me respond but this is a message from Markv1274 . Now I'm very glad of your critique but I was a professional entertainer for 30 years did night clubs adult shows as a magician and every other type of show and would not compare myself to the greats of comedy but I understand what you're saying .glad you got to see mine
@@markv1274 Well I wasn't expecting such a thorough critique but excellent thank you . Yes you're right it is a totally different form of comedy but I have done all the big gigs working night clubs as a magician getting the drunks to laugh the whole bit 15 years as a street performer .anyway glad you got to see it
Such an old clip but still funny, relevant and directly applicable. It proves the absolute truism of Australian politics. “It’s only a rort if you’re NOT in on it.”
Everybody's underrated what a load of bulshit this show and all the actors were the most famous people in Australia at the time before Google ruined Australian television
What I always wanted to happen ( and unfortunately, it never did) on Full Frontal’s National Nightly Network News sketches, was to have Ian Goodings interview John Howard in the studio like this. With both characters played by John Walker, not only would that have been interesting to see, but also it would have been great to have seen what the banter between the two characters would have been like!!
I used to do this skit back in High School in History class in 1997, i was 15, everyone laughed while the teacher was talking about WW1 i was doing John Howard Full Frontal Skit, i got kicked out!
One of the most absurd Howard impressions. The couple of exaggerated bits he gets right are milked for all they were worth meanwhile Kym is doing a straight impression. It's like they’re from 2 different programs... Yet somehow the repeated stuttering and back and forward “Kerry”, “John Howard” is kind of amusing.
This is terrible. John Howard deserved more respect than this. He made a terrific contribution to society and fixed the mess left by Keating and his union mates.
For Kym to keep a straight face and stay professional during this skit… so underrated! Love Full Frontal
That's what professional comedians do I've just done a UA-cam channel jumbo the clown, keeping a straight face was easy

I need more john walker content! Still watching these impressions 20 years later
My dream sketch was to see Ian Goodings interview John Howard on the Australian National Nightly Network News I reckon it would’ve been hilarious! 😁👍
This was one of the best sketches, Johnny Howard to a T.
Kym Gyngell is one of Australia’s most under rated actors ever! Brilliant work, Kym! The other guy was pretty good as well, BTW...
John Walker. He, like pretty much all of the Full Frontal cast of this era were great comedians and performers.
Everybody's underrated what a load of bulshit this show and all the actors were the most famous people in Australia at the time before Google ruined Australian television
This comedy will never date, and still outstanding
Its dated horribly.
@@Joshua-jj4xn have to disagree with you, it's timeless. Better than the rubbish these days.
Bloody Aussie classic
How true is this in 2024!
The way he stutters makes it so funny😂

So good!!!!!!!!!
I never knew Colin Carpenter was so serious.
I can't find those episodes of that guy that used to say "it's crap."
🤣🤣 "Leon" I think that character's name was.
Every episode of Full Frontal used to be on here but thanks to some two-bit unknown british network buying the airing rights they're all gone
I miss this show wish I could get a copy
Good point. They need to re-show / re-release it somehow
Classic old Australia miss those days!
so bloody good
So good.
Look Kerry, Nuh! Nuh! Nuh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Kerry!!

Your teacher was humourless. They might have allowed you to do the skit after class though.
How dare they try to teach you about what you're great grandfather went and probably died for.
Lol😂😂😂😂
I was once kicked out of class for doing Kelvin Cunnington, the Michael Veitch character from FAST FORWARD. I'm guessing I'm not the only one who was.
FKN GOLD!!!!😂😂😂😂
The one dislike must be little Johnny 😂
oh man my childhood right here! well nar nar nar nar nar wait wait wait.....
For sure..I had to search this up lol
Me too 😇
One line I'll never forget from another sketch:
"Well, John Howard?"
"..."
"I reckon you're a bastard."
This is great comedy.
Nar nar nar nar nar ... wait wait wait wait! 😂

AnAl - Labor’s rendition of ol’ Johnny sourced from the same grime of asslicks that have ran this Kuntry to the ground
Kims right about hand wash
Kym Gyngel kicks arse.
His dad Bruce was the first presenter on Australian television.
This could be Albo
Getting paid over $200k now 😅
Nanana ohohoh nanana
I didn’t realise Kim was still on in 1996
This fake John Howard is smarter than the real one😄
Classic.

Little Johnny was fairly easy to impersonate & a number of comedians did it pretty well. This guy's dreadful.
Who is this ? Joe Biden
Stan needs to release..
This was when comedy was actually good
COLIN CARPENTER RAT THREE OF THEM YOU SAIDW
Inside ai systems like mankind has never seen before
The damage the little grub Howard did to Oz is not funny...
This joke is getting old 😢
