A quick review on the Minn Kota Endura C2 trolling motor I picked up for the 1963 Skagit boat. We've already used it a few times so I wanted to go over it.
Two years later this motor is going strong ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBZWgzfpS2Jj7JqIHyaSZjyVHNUgCKCBf Just uploaded a video of it after 2 years. We use it probably a dozen days each year on our small raft.-original review- We got this motor the other day and tested it out. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems good to me. It has all the features advertised - the motor housing is metal. We will see how it performs longer term and I will revise this review if needed. Some initial observations:- Good thrust, moves our boat around really well- It comes with a circuit breaker but no switch - so there's no way to kill the motor other than yanking the connection off the battery. I installed an inline switch.- The mount bracket is plastic and I worry it might break- There are a number of plastic parts that I worry about, but the most important ones are metal or some kind of composite
*Great little trolling motor **enjoyable.fishing** recommend had it hooked up to my 15 foot old town canoe and it pushed it pretty good with me and my son (220 pounds each).*
If you drive on a rock or what ever, the trollingmotor will actually jump up out of the water and shut down, so that the engine and you wont get injured. We were running on full blast and hit a rock with the engine and it did this. A bent shaft wont be a huge problem, since there is nothing in the tube, the whole engine assembly is in the propeller/lower part. :)
I'll be buying the same trolling motor to use on A 16ft aluminum fishing boat that's not heavy at all.. Some lakes here don't allow gas engines only electric so this will be perfect to go across the lake away from everyone and fish new spots for trout.... Im also getting A fishing kayak with flat back and will mount this thing to it... I'm curious on what external amp should I buy
I see you have your trollin motor on the transom. Can you tell if the bracket will adjust to fit something laying horizonal and not vertical like the transom?
Good idea to put an inline ammeter ($3.00 - ebay) to see the steady draw. On a 100 Ah lead acid cell, 5 amp draw is ~18 hrs use. On a 50 Ah lithium cell kit with a 12vdc 10 amp step up, will be 1/10th the weight, and same 18hrs use.
I have a light boat...12 foot aluminum mirro craft and I got a good battery , How Long do you think it last ..gonna take it out tomorrow for the first time!!
It’s made for one as well, I have that exact motor and I have the solstice voyager 401 sport boat. I haven’t used it yet but that’s what I bought it for
I bought both the C2 30 and the C2 40 lbs trolling motors. Both failed in the 1st year (light use). 30 lb-er shorted and burned out wires, so I bumped up to the 40 lb-er. Water infiltrated and flooded the motor (down the prop) of the 40 lb-er after 3 or 4 outings. Just my bad luck? ... or shoddy construction???
A trolling motor is so slow aerodynamics have nothing to do with speed. However the shape and the weight and the general cleanliness of the below water hull will make a massive difference to performance .
I have no experience sith motors so im buying this motor and im thinking of a motormaster nautilus groupe 24 battery with 675 mca.....as i said i have no idea what all this means im just wondering if its ok to fit with the motor...also how do you charge a battery?
Group 24 means ~80 AH but it's better to buy a deep cycle 80 AH battery. It should specifically say "80 AH". Or, better yet - 100 AH. You charge it with any automotive charger, before and after going out.
In other words: the handle is pointing in the opposite direction of the prop ( out of the box) ,...I need it on the opposite side, pointing towards the prop (so it can be mounted in front of me, and drvive foward)
Daniel Hawkins There a mount specific trolling motors. Most are transom mounted, meaning they come in this configuration. what you're looking for is a bow mounted trolling motor. obviously it's a trolling motor with for your specific purpose. google "bow mounted trolling motors".
It's about the size of a car battery and I think it lasted around 2 hours of constant trolling, but that also depends on the weight of the boat and passengers.
with a 70 ah battery like that (u can use about 50% so that leaves u 35 amps.. or about 1 hour on full speed (little les even)... just get a lithium battery at this point... cost 5x more but lasts 10 times longer... u could have a 280ah lithium and cranck that motor on full speed for 7+ hours..
Reverse sucks...I believe the prop "saves" energy...in fact surprised how little juice it requires when my battery died. However, reverse is like nothing compared to older models. Is it the Prop?

220 each, bro :)
It should have been easy but had a few difficulties setting up the motor. Watched this and answered my main question thank you for the video!
Tucker Upper Glad to help.
I love this bad boy. I totally recommend it
Just got my Minn Kota Endura Max today but I found the handle pretty difficult in trying to extend it. Is that the case with yours?

There are actually wires inside the tube that control the motor speed and reverse.
Just curious, any idea roughly how wide the the base of it is where it mounts on the boats transom
Thanks for sharing! How do you recharge that battery?
can you see on the electric motor what percentage is the battery?
How do I extend and retract the handle?
Nice informative review
Thank you 😊
How long does the battery last?
How wide is the clamp and does it rotate 360
Is the Minn Kota Endura C2 30-lb. Thrust Trolling Motor with 30" Shaft have the same cables to connect to the battery?
Yes! Some cables I have that one

This is the motor that I use on my Jackson Big Rig. It gets up and hauls.
Nice video! What charger do you use?
4:10 why the hell did you do that?
That was a test.
Music Matt 76 just laughed so hard

would it be good on a inflatible boat
It’s made for one as well, I have that exact motor and I have the solstice voyager 401 sport boat. I haven’t used it yet but that’s what I bought it for
Or a Jon boat
70 amp hours. How many amps does it draw,, that tells you the hours the battery gives
he doesnt know what he's doing yet. that motor probably draws 52 amps an hour so he would need a 100 amp hour battery.
ctdvargas are tgese motors any good?? Wich is the best?

Yep. Aerodynamic at 5-6 mph doesn't matter. Hydrodynamics does, and weight does even more.
A trolling is awesome for an intex inflatable. If you can afford more than a inflatable, buy a real outboard. Dont talk shit about troling

Al M thanks a lot buddy i got the motor yesterday and ill go get the battery soon
No problem! 100 AH is darn heavy.
Is the red with black the positive wire. Or the all black
Isaac Morales The red and black is two wires, they split at the end, red positive black negative
Di mana tempat nya klw kita mau beli dan siapa yg di hubungin
Any videos of it on the water with this boat?
No more sprinkler system needed. Just aim the motor at the lawn every night and give it a whirl!
can you tell me if the handle is reversable??( I want to mount it on the front of a personal pontoon)
What do you mean reversible?
In other words: the handle is pointing in the opposite direction of the prop ( out of the box) ,...I need it on the opposite side, pointing towards the prop (so it can be mounted in front of me, and drvive foward)
Daniel Hawkins I don't think you can do that, check some other videos on that.
Daniel Hawkins There a mount specific trolling motors. Most are transom mounted, meaning they come in this configuration. what you're looking for is a bow mounted trolling motor. obviously it's a trolling motor with for your specific purpose. google "bow mounted trolling motors".
Yes you can reverse the head and make it so you can push or pull your boat
what is your battery size and how long will it last with this motor?
It's about the size of a car battery and I think it lasted around 2 hours of constant trolling, but that also depends on the weight of the boat and passengers.
***** your battery is ?ah?
What?
like 100AH battery?
I said it in the video.
Do these hold up for a longtime?
NO
mine has been in the shop twice in 2 years
I have one that has lasted 5 years without doing anything to it

Props are typically optimized for forward efficiency because that's the direction you go 99% of the time.
review in a bucket lol
Has anyone bought a minn kota endura 35 thrust
Stay away from me at the boat launch
wromg
Lol I see why you commented this

Wow you showed how to splash water
Use evermaxx wallmart 29dc battary
Boats aren't aerodynamic they're hydrodynamic but yes
LOL no need to put the motor in water
