About 15:45 love that SUPER SCOTT😂 puts his hand out as Jessie rocks towards him as if he is going to stop the machine from hitting him 😅😅😅. Absolutely love this channel
Hatfield McCoy dozed this trail months ago and is now like a green/blue trail. I wish they would have left it alone and just made it a double black rather than fixing it.
I can vouch for the severity of that trail ! I went up the mountain on the same trail back when they had the grand opening and at that time there was a 12" rock lip at the very top. It's definitely memerable.
Great video and very smart approach! Our group of quads attempted 97 in Sept of 2019. The washout wasn't there but there was still the drop down to trail 37. I read an article about a man and woman going off that section in May 2021 and rolled down to 37 and was life-flighted to Charleston...cannot find any follow up articles but it sounded bad and I think that is what you reference early in the vid. I just looked and the new trial map did away with trail 37 and increased the entrance to trail 97. Anyway, in 2019 the first section wasn't too bad if you were careful and had spotters. As we were getting the group up the first part, one of my buddies was being aggressive and went ahead alone to the second section at 2:10 and tried but had his quad flip back on him and pinned him to that rock ledge on the left. He was ok, but we still called EMS to have him checked out back at Twin Hollows - when in doubt, make the call!!! In 2019 that was a nasty trail...looks 10x worse today and probably should be black-red. Rockhouse black trails are much harder than the other H&M black trails that we have ridden in the past.
I saw a Facebook post about that couple that went down over 97. I saw that they both survived. Luckily. It could have gone a lot worse. This trail can get pretty sketchy. Glad to hear your group was ok too.
A friend and I went down that trail on Can Am Outlanders in '16 or '17. It took us an hour to do it with us hanging on the back of each others atv's for balance. That trail is a lot worse now. Great video
Ya 32, 97 and 35 were all removed from there map due to logging. Those 3 trails were some of the best Hatfield McCoy had to offer. Maybe someday they will go back on
We ran it last week. Didn’t know I was on 97 til I was on it. Went right up it with out stoping . I was a little busy driving it thou. And I did give it a little more skinning pedal . 2022 KRX .

Thanks. Trail 97 can go wrong real quick. I’m glad everything worked out for the best but I definitely wouldn’t do it without the winch in that spot haha
Making a list of trails to stay away from when we go in May. this is one! LOL. not necessarily for my own good, but the wife would probably walk home from there. lol ... the video with the big rock ledge was another one. the one where you went to the lookout over Williamson I believe.
The trail itself isn’t real hard but it’s the the wash out that makes this trail very dangerous. I don’t show it well in the video but it’s a 200 foot drop with no trees to catch you if you slide over on the washout. This trail isn’t one to take lightly that’s for sure.
@@TheCanAmCrew it's our first trip, we will try to find the easier routes. however, I will be prepared if we come across some challenges. thanks for the tips!
We did 97 last fall. My first trip to Hatfield. Basically hugged right as much as possible and hit perpendicular. You must commit. Not sure i would ever do it again. But i did do it, so there’s that.

Just watched the video. That was pretty cool. Hard wipeout the first day followed up by making it the second. Awesome job. And that rzr at the end is no joke. How wide is he?
@@TheCanAmCrew That was my brother who had the wipeout on the first day. He is just starting to get use to being on a bike again. His rzr is where all his time and money goes to haha. He has that sucker 92" wide!! Sometimes its a huge advantage being that wide other times its a pain in the ass. I noticed at rockhouse there were alot of trails or culverts he wouldn't even fit through. He only took her out the last day. We have to put 31" wheels on just to fit it in the trailer lol. Definitely check out his UA-cam channel for UTV content. Got some great UTV videos of the nastiest trails on the east coast. Search for Chase Guello.
Try having a not so good trail map reader in the lead when you are in a ranger xp1000 and they are in a utility sxs as well and roll up on this big uhhh wrong trail moment. It was funny however passing guys with machines like yours when we were coming off the trail head in our rangers we said you got her boys she aint that bad lol. Oh and our trail lead has been demoted after such incident haha.
@@TheCanAmCrew no not worth the risk. To hard to predict when a machine is going to slide. That was an awesome example for viewers to ride smarter , not harder. U still ate the climb up with ease . Only bad part about the wash out….no trees to stop you from a 600-ft roll. Mental part of it is intense. Been waiting weeks for this video.
I pulled up to that wash out spot before and said NOPE! Looked down the side there and nothing to stop you if you start rolling. 97 is gnarly man.
