Such an underrated series, it has some GrEaT visuals and kaiju designs, and the fighting coreography isn't bad either, good series to watch when you're bored and want something short to watch. Don't let the spandex suit fool you!

I appreciate the attempt at realism, but like you I prefer the more fast-paced martial arts fighting style the franchise perfected over the decades.

It's his name Great and has a Great series even it's underrated , it would be amazing if he has more episodes when his series is still running it would be great for his series
unlike Power Ranger and Masked Rider, Ultraman Great is an original story created specifically for western audience... and Ultraman Great is canon in the universe of Ultraman... if you speaks english and know about Ultraman, it's very likely you grew up with Ultraman Great.
I always like Great doing that triangle arm pose which symbolize his delta crest. The burning plasma, the arrow beam and the Great slicer are my favorite moves.
I guess the budget of the suits is really ........well not great, design wise, with a better budget and quality I can see some of them being fan favorite

子供だった頃、一度入ったらいつまでも居て良いと言う謎システムのド田舎の映画館で、一日中グレートの総集編を観ていた思い出。
ギャラファイでスーツの質感まで再現してくれてて、本当に嬉しかった！
昔の映画館は1回の上映券を買うんじゃなくて入場券を買って席離れるまで好きなだけ映画を見れたんですよ
スターウォーズの大ヒットで居座る人が多すぎて観客の入れ替えが出来なくなったので上映1回ずつの席券購入に変えて多くの人々に見られるようにしたんですね

ゴーデスと地球っていうウルトシリーズ史上トップクラスに厄介な敵と戦ったグレート。
こうして現代で貫禄と共に帰ってきたグレートを見るとすごい感動する。

しかも、このゴーデスは細胞レベルで分裂しても生きられる、いわば細菌や胞子に似た特性がありますから。コスモスもカオスヘッダーっていう、ウイルス系と戦いましたから、手強い相手ですね。
最後のバーニングプラズマのシーンがカッコ良過ぎるw
本編では2回しか使われない技だけど、あの独特の構えから放たれるのが凄く印象に残った。
ウルトラマングレートは技が多彩だし、環境問題を取り入れて作られたメッセージ性の強い良い作品ですねぇ。

グレートのベースは空手のようでそれを調べてみようとこの動画にたどり着いたら、上段十字受け→下段十字受け→内受け→外受け→山突き→右前屈立ちの逆突き。本当にまっとうなほどの空手ですね。

自分は、動きや体型から黒人レスラーっぽいな、と思っていたんですが、極真空手と動きが似ているとは思いませんでした。

「USA」に続く海外版「ウルトラマン」2・・・いや3号ですね。「80」に続く実写版「ウルトラマン」の復活でしたけど、結構好きな「ウルトラマン」でした。ストーリーの完成度も高かったと思います。主題歌も吹替版も字幕版も名曲だと思います。

再現どころか更に洗練した動きに昇華させてる辺り超有能ですよね。

関係ない話だと思いますけど、私が大好きな平成ウルトラマンの1人「ウルトラマンティガ」の下半身🦵のボディーカラーのデザインですけれど、私個人的にこのウルトラマングレートの下半身🦵の面影が残っていると激しく思います。
お腹〜太もも・膝にかけての模様（がら）が私個人的に凄く似ていると私は思うのです。
グレートの下半身🦵のレッドの部分に更にパープルカラーを新しく加えるとティガの下半身🦵になると私は見ていて本当に強く感じるのです😤😆💪✨‼️
グレートのアトラクション用スーツは、悲しいことにティガの敵の一体「イルド」に改造され利用されたらしいですけれど、それと戦ったそのティガの身体の一部のモチーフ案の方にもこのグレートの要素が入っていると私は本気で思っております。
とにかく、ウルトラマングレートは私も公式歴代シリーズ（※平成）からは若干外されている気がして切なく感じますけど、それでも大好きなウルトラマンの1人です。
間違いなく、ウルトラマンティガのデザインの中に彼の面影を感じます😤💪✨‼️

ちょうどウルトラマン25周年の頃だったかな？シリーズの再放送も盛んで、夏休みの朝に平日に一話か二話放送して、本当に夏休みの最後の放送の後に新しいウルトラマンとして紹介されたのを覚えてる。グレートのスーツアクターは二人でやってて、どちらも極真空手の有段者だったと思う。タロウ～80で多用されたトランポリンの派手なジャンプアクションこそ使ってない物の、力強い本格的な格闘シーンが迫力を、オーストラリアの伝統の人形技術を活かしたとの触れ込みの大型人形操演がスケール感を生んだ本当に「新しいウルトラマン」だった。
オーストラリアで海外向けウルトラマンとして実験的にスタートしたグレートは当初の予想を遥かに上回る人気を博し、セカンドシーズンも企画されていた。しかしそれは制作サイドの都合で没になり、残念ながら幻と消えた。話の縦糸にウルトラ戦士のライバルたるバルタン星人の地球侵略作戦

ジャックのメンタルの強さが逆転に繋がったんだと、僕はそう確信する！！

このウルトラマンですが、最初の予定では初代ウルトラマンやセブンのデザインを担当した成田亨氏がデザイン担当だったのです。デザインも出来ていたのですが契約等の問題などで実現しなかったのです。もし実現してたらまた違った作品になっていたのだと思いますね。

Yes plus Ultraman Powered 's kaijus. Both series kills it with the design, and I find that the early Japanese Ultraman series's kaiju sounds are pretty creepy
