This is an amazing video. I have two questions about this video. Would the Sony A7S II with the f0.95 lens be able to see well on a new moon at night? In the video the footage looks pretty good when there's nothing but stars, you can see the trees silhoulette's and stuff, but would the camera be able to see as much detail of the trees like that of a full moon... on a new moon?... Or would there need to be more photons for a clean and seeable image? And also my 2nd question is if the Sony A7SII can do that with a shutter speed of 1/30th or 1/20th of a second on a full moon. Thank you in advance, this video is great and useful.
Sorry I missed your comment until now. You still have more than enough power to see things on a night with a new moon. The segment where I show the stars was taken on a moonless night in the High Uintas Wilderness, and I wasn't pushing the camera very hard. I can't remember the settings, but it was probably wide open, around 1/30th shutter speed, and somewhere in the middle range of the ISO. Looking into pitch black woods on a moonless night, you can definitely see quite a bit, but it still wouldn't quite match daylight.
I'm not sure what my camera settings are, but I just go to the video mode and scroll with the top back-right wheel until the frame rate is 1/4. It may be dependent on your video mode settings, like 4k 60p, 4k 24p, 1080p, etc. I'd experiment with those settings if you can't get it to 4 fps.
Awesome video btw
