Let's be clear: the reporter is the Athletic Wolves beat writer Jon Krawczynski. He is an amazing writer, amd has always been one of the staunchest KAT supporters. He was trying to refer to the general narrative over the losing years that KAT was a so-called "stat stuffer." Jon K wasn't personally calling KAT a stat-stuffer. I think Jon was trying to clarify and Ant kinda steamrolled him and jumped to KAT's defense.
Jon K is one the most respectable beat writers. I know he wasn’t trying to take a dig at KAT. IMO, the essential thing between those losing years and now is that KAT has someone who is on his side, defending and motivating him to be better, to be the best version of himself on both sides of the court.

I remember back in 2016. When the Thunder were up 3-1 against the Warriors. I was so hyped being a Thunder fan. But the way Kd and Russ acted in the post-game interview. When we were up, they were acting so cocky. I just had a feeling that we were gonna lose that series. I get the complete opposite vibe from this interview.
I mean KAT seems so relaxed and happy. But having Edwards beside him, it keeps KAT focused

It’s so dope to watch a man with as much experience as KAT to realize before our eyes who the team leader is. I commend him for accepting that Ant is the man and that team will go as far as he takes them. Shit like that is amazing to see. Doesn’t make anyone less of a man, but it shows maturation and growth as a man when he recognizes his part and plays it to the T. This team will go far and I’m a die hard knicks fan 💯
As a Denver fan - Ant’s last answer gets huge respect from me. That’s the mentality you want your leader to have. The Wolves are lucky to have someone so young in that role; the franchise can grow alongside him. Hopefully KAT can offer mentorship to keep the growth of his ego in check while his stardom continues to explode.
If they can do that, I’ll be less mad about them sweeping the Nuggets this weekend…

They're still an elite team and will be a force for the next few years though. Let's not say Denver is a mid team just because of what happened tonight. With that being said, Wolves have arrived and untapped their full potential. If you watch them play especially in the playoffs, they're just so rugged and full of energy. Denver was just too slow and can't match the same level of intesity so they were freaking out. There's a reason why the Wolves are and have been the best defense in the league.
