The saddest part in the whole series was when Claire Williams turned to poor Frank and said 'well at least we were only lapped once this time', and Frank slowly nodding his head 😢
Only half of him survived the car accident, he just brushed it off like a boss.
It's always depressing to see Claire in DTS.
You have to believe that every day Frank wakes up and thinks to himself...."God I wish you had given me a son instead"

To be honest, my biggest takeaway from drive to survive is that the "if you mess up you're fired" culture they have at Haas doesn't work all that well. At Mercedes Toto Wolff said something like, "we blame the situation, not the person" and that seems to be working out alright for them.

Only idiot boss act like that, he can't manage a orgnization by fuck this fuck that and expose nothing but his own incabability. That 19th century managment should go forever, if I meet a boss like that, I know this company is not going to live long.
And that fact that they've got 10 times the budget does also help a lot.
Christina Bakkum exactly, some people need to ease into the company and feel trusted by co-workers and their boss. Steiner is more like: if you’re shit in the first week, don’t come back for the second one. That doesn’t work for every employee.
It's a show put together to be entertaining, not a science documentary. You cannot draw conclusions from what you see here.

10:15 Let me explain why the photographer called him "the subject". In photography, the thing you take the photo of is "the subject", this can either be a product, landscape, scene and people. So the photographer instead of referring to Gasly as the "replaced", "the guy going out" or whatever, he decided to use the appropriate photographic term since calling out Gasly wasn't appropriate for the situation. The photographer was being the most professional as possible, although for outsiders that seemed disrespectful.

If you understand what Danny Ric is doing with that stare it goes from funny to fascinating. He has his eyes locked straight ahead catching and throwing the ball using only his extreme peripheral vision, this is why he is so "eyes wide open". Needless to say developing this is very important. As a side note, I think that you guys should recreate this and see how well a normal can do what he is doing. I really think it would make for a bit of hilarity. Great stuff as always, thanks and I look forward to your next.

Claire is the boss you'd like to have. She is so nice and tries to keep everyone engaged. Although probably it's not what the team needs now
Not very good at problem solving though. Never seems to be spear heading any of the problems. Just tells people to do better. And just treated paddy so badly.
She is way too nice to lead an underperfoming team. Even when given horrible news, when she hears that her engineers have failed to deliver in time, there's not a bit of anger/annoyance visible. I'm not saying she should've fired them on the spot, but this is clearly not a way to gain respect from the team. I had heard she wasn't doing very well as a teamboss, and this confirms it for me

The best part about Steiner straight up insulting Toto in Austrian German is that it proves us that 1) Gunther's rants are not just power trips, he's willing to dish them out to powerful people 2) Gunther's rants are not a second language problem, he really means it.

The Scene from 5:50 is even more hilarious, when you understand (Austrian) German: three Austrians (I know, Steiner is technically an Italian, but he comes from South-Tirol, which was once a part of Austria and speaks the local Austrian-German dialect as his mother tongue) sitting next to each other, Steiner giving Toto shit for being unable to put on his mic, and Tost overhearing Steiner and grinning from ear to ear. That's why we need so many Austrians in the F1-paddock. This could have never happened with three German team bosses.

Watched season 2 about twice & ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!! My favourite clip has got to be in the Horner household where Christian goes round asking his kids who their favourite driver is, then Geri asks him the same question; her reaction to his answer is just great!
I loved how Netflix didn't cover Charles' first win, especially in that circumstances. They covered the circumstances, but they didn't make Charles a tragic hero, reciting all of the tragedies in His life.

Ahem...
Lewis made a risky dive that didnt work out, hitting Albon and spinning him. He was nowhere near the front of Albon, so Alex felt he was ok, plus last second dives are most often met with disaster for the diver, as the guy their overtaking doesnt see them as they enter the turn (kimi and Max Spa Turn 1 anyone?)
So to blame Albon for Lewis' mistake feels petty, given everyone knows it was Lewis, and Lewis himself apologised for his own mistake.
Even though it was obvious, or should be, to anyone watching that Lewis was totally at fault, you make an excellent point Wilco.

"Drive to survive" s02 e02 was, in my opinion, the inspiration to one of the F1 2021 "Braking point" chapters.

Suggestion for next reactions video: start with full screen footage and then move that to a smaller box. Show the footage as picture in picture while putting the reactions in the main screen, so people can react at the same time as you.

Idk if it's just me but overall I found S2 a bit underwhelming compared to S1. They should've done more with Ferrari (made fun of Ferrari more). More with Lando, more with Hulkenberg, and so on. Idk bit sad.

@@Cwattyeso I can’t remember which driver it was but one of them was filmed driving a track on F1 2020, or maybe just a regular simulator WITH HIS EYES CLOSED.... it was crazy!! He knew EXACTLY when to downshift and where the apex was
