- I have a long history in the Borderlands franchise. It's everyone's assumption that Borderlands 4 is next on Gearbox's to-do list so we had a viewer ask what I wanted to see from a Borderlands 4 - so we thought instead of just answering the question for them we'd make a video about it!

Please no rouge mode I just want better story that stop focusing on annoying characters that people don't like and stops killing my favorite past characters.

Better story, missions that bring out the lore of characters/npc’s, more meaningful loot. DLC’s that maybe include a new vault hunter or two to change things up a bit and even more diverse skill tree’s and class mods. I’d also like to see a way to go back and earn higher level/better rolls on gear that is only attainable at what level you’re at for that specific mission/drop (Pearl of Ineffable Knowledge).

Edit: Id like to see an option too where if you beat the campaign and all side missions (essentially 100% it) you get the option to bring additional characters to max level or at least max level off base campaign, excluding bonus levels added later.

In the Telltale series a version of Jack shares a body with the main character (Rhys) and then he was in borderlands 3 but they didn’t really focus on that.

Definitely not a fun time when your constantly getting low level gear during first play through. I remember my first legendary it was worse tham what i had equipped

As someone who loves borderlands, bringing back handsome Jack would be a huge mistake. A franchise needs to constantly infuse itself with new blood. It’ll grow stagnant if it just keeps going to the same well.
I think having loads of guns was initially the point. It spoke to the underlying capitalistic theme to the games. Huge galactic megacorps that just pump out guns leaving mountains of waste. Pandora itself it just a dumpster in some ways. Corps move in, take what they need, and just leave all their shit behind. They are completely disposable. The absurdity of it is the point and, yeah, you're selling 99% of the guns you find and leaving the rest on the ground, but it feeds into the narrative itself and isnt some poor loot drop design.

Sadly i think borderlands is done for me. I saw how 3 was handled and they've basically payed content creators to silence criticism and instead of listening to the community they create their own artifical community and don't fix their mistakes, almost exact the opposite of diablo

i am a borderlands fan and i can recommend you playing bl2 and the presequel but the presequel has unfurtinally no endgame but it has the best skill tress in the hole franshise. Borderlands 3 has the best gameplay but is a unbalanced mess and it has almost zero challange and a terrible Story. i would advice u to skip tiny tina wonderlands the story is mediocre at best and the endgame sucks (this game is also very very short in terms of playtime and has zero replayability). Borderlands 2 is peak imho.
also i like borderlands 1 but its aged really poorly and it has almost zero story and the skills and the weapons are generic, i seen many people how hopp late at the borderlands train that dosent like borderlands 1 becouse its so old.

I want clap trap to be the main bad guy or robot. Have 4 or 5 main vault hunters. Tiny Tiny(bomb master), Ava (siren) or Tannis, Dr Zed (healer or offense killer), brick (smasher) or
Mordecai (defense). I think this will be the best team for the main story. Change so good, but stay true to the game lore.
things we need in bl4 (this is my own copy paste from another channel on bl4 cause i don't wanna retype all this again and this is my own opinion)

1. really good dlcs that are enjoyable and make me wanna (YES LETS PLAY THAT DLC) make it worth the price
2. 2 more dlc vault hunters like bl2 that are unique
3. more legendary dedicated drops from invincible fights, example: spending 250 eridium to fight hermi and vermi, just to get like 4 or 5 shit legendaries with no dedicated loot drop
3. in each dlc we need atleast 1 invincible at the end of it
4. pearlescent rarity guns
5. more viable and usable legendaries
6. more areas that have actual things to do instead of just being a medium to connect 1 zone to another for the story
7. more unique funny missions like in bl2, with like claptraps birthday or stuff like that
8. (kinda hard to ask but) better writing and less annoying characers (Ava)
9. bigger areas and zone
10. more unique enemies with dedicated legendary drops
11. reduce the legendary drop rate
12. another mode like ultimate vault hunter mode like in bl2 with more unique enemies from the base enemies, maybe add new enemies in the difficulty
13. (some might not agree with this but) i personally think they should add something or even just add it back, add a good op system that isnt behind a pay wall.
14. atleast 4 invincible fights that aren't locked behind a takedown to get to the fight
15. a proper bossfight at the end of the game, because ngl tyreen the destroyer was a disappointment. imagine something like 30% bigger then the graveward and had a bigger arena to fight in, much more difficult
16. get rid of immune phases, or tone them down alot
17. no mayhem modifiers.
18. keep the banging music when you fight invincibles (jesper kyd and finishing move inc or someone else who gets the feel for the fight)
19. a better U.I system (and make it usable for people on pc)

Borderlands can't keep using Handsome Jack to carry the story. The pre-sequel already brought more of him.
1, Actually Melee weapons !
2.Fix shift connecting !
3. Double inventory space !
4. Make a good use for our millions of useless trash loot ,like convert X10 of @#£&+ into X1 of @#£&+ ,via shop or vendor!
5.dont lower talking NPC's voice volume if I look away ,make a fast transition!
6. Motorcycles as vehicles!
7. Customizable/farmable weapon attachments !
8. Involve clap trap stuff !!
9.one random NPC vendor spawn with a weekly/daily ID 🔒 who sells me crazy useless shit !
10.i don't want to mention absolutely self-explaining performance stuff, Basically do your job !
11. God damn an anti Cheat tool , you simply don't give a damn about corrupting the game out of pure laziness!
12.more than 4 playable characters with viable melee/sniper/rouge potential builds!
Those are just things I've figured out while sitting on toilet! You can easy double the list if I was actually using my 🧠 .
The problem with the body double thing is that if the story sucks like BL3, its just going to downplay the ending of BL2, making it indirectly worse.
Fuck farming class mods they should bring back the bl2 class mod system

I hope they make the weapons feel more different. In borderlands 3 it felt like even though there was more types of guns, they all felt the same, they were far more toned down and less wacky than BL2's weapons. I also hope they add more interesting enemies to fight, going back to BL2 I realized just how boring and one dimensional the enemies in BL3 were, I want enemies like the Constructor, Crystalisk, Buzzard, Nomads with midget shields, the plethora of loader types, etc.
EDIT: I also want them to tone down the dialogue where you stand around waiting for the NPCs to talk, BL2 had a good system where the majority of the dialogue happened while you were actually doing stuff. That's actually one of my largest complaints of Wonderlands is that you spend an ungodly amount of time just standing around listening to characters speak, it gets boring. Borderlands is a game about shooting, looting and dying, It's not an audiobook.
I want timothy back either him being in the background somewhere or you can play as his character in the you met him again in the game so please bring him back gearbox

For me bro, More PLAYABLE CHARACTERS!!! I feel B3 should ve had 6 to 8 playable characters, B2 (6), presequel (6). Borderlands 4 at least 8 playable!!! Love the series to death!!!! Got boring playing same characters over & over! Thanks for the video.

I don't agree with your point about Jack, I think he serves a better purpose as a has been and maybe that can inspire a JACK likfe next baddie but definitely agree with you on the first play through, scaling and the ability to mix and max guns to encourage build variety and less dependence on specific guns. I'm replaying BL2 as Maya with BEEHAWK set up and yeah, please don't make it just 10 guns and items that will be used after endgame lol. "And you're gonna need all the Vault Hunters you can get," please more than 4 at the start!!!!
I’m okay with the classes but they need personality! Wonderlands characters were just gray, blank templates and it was horribly uninspired in my honest opinion.
Borderlands not having main cast of Vault Hunters to pick from will just diminish the play value of the characters and the attachments to the characters overall for the franchise, ie. Wonderlands plus, Gearbox makes it hard to personalize the character abilities and make them feel unique and powerful without a being gimmicky like in Wonderlands which got boring quickly doing the same two second ability or whatever copycat Destiny thing
BL4 would be a day one even though i didn't care at all for the story of 3. I'll take whatever they give me and hopefully I enjoy it.

GBX need to take risks and deliver novelty for BL4. Think and improve or rework from the ground many systems of the franchise meaning how loot works, endgame as a all.
The Loot The Universe mini-event in BL3 and the Bunnies statues in Wonderlands are the 2 best directions they can go for, concerning loot. Devs did admit in the recent podcasts GBX made that the parts variance in BL3/WL was too high.
Take what worked in the endgame across all games and rethink it to be even better. Slaughters activities as they are currently are boring to me. A new Digi-Peak/Chaos Chamber like to earn each levels of your endgame difficulty. True raids like Takedowns to encourage the coop sessions and optimizing your build. Something along the Proving Grounds to test how fast clearing you can go. New concepts of activities overall. The Secret Bosses in Wonderlands Chaos Chamber are the best Bosses design GBX delivered. A real thought behind items to hunt for meaning the hardest content shouldn't earn you with a garbage gun or anything else. There are so much enjoyable things to be inspired by in Destiny 2, Path of Exile and even flopped games like Godfall.
Go even further in the gameplay. Bring back double jump and add dash. Make the game more nervous and visceral. Bring back the quality of The Pre Sequel's skill trees with the builds variety of BL3.
As a all, Borderlands is a pretty stale looter/shooter looking at how it works and definitely the most dated one.
My major concern is that it's going to be woke af
I feel it'd be a lot of fun if players could make guns, mods, nades, and shields, from parts instead of picking up junk most of the time 😊😊😊
i am settle down i just dont think it would need a battlepass because the game doesnt need to be a live serves because it would just kill what it is the reason why i put caps is to let people know that it wouldnt just work maybe if they do it right idk i how a battlepass would work because the game is just fun without a battlepass or anything im not mad i was just saying maybe a rouge like mode would work but a battlepass wouldnt work

I do agree with a lot of the improvements you suggest, but as much as I love Handsome Jack, bringing him back would just be a sad cop-out or lazy writing to say the least.
Let's move on.
Dealing with consequences or sabotage plans that Jack left behind is a possibility, but should not be the central focus of BL4's storyline. IMO
I hope BL4's writers (and the execs with authority to greenlight) got the message trumpeted by most players and content creators, that BL3's story was lacking at best.
Sorry but you won't get any of that. You will get a bunch of gender bender trans-characters and story lines. The story line is gonna have to be based around Ava......fml. I mean Lilith is gone, Ava is now the siren.
Anything that works good will be nerfed within a week. All the stuff people have asked for since BL2 will be ignored and they will focus on stuff they want and no one ever asked for.😂 Instead of good guns they will setup a new enchantment/anointment/sub category to the weapons that make the weapon less important than the ananointed. Which for a game that brags about millions of guns is totally stupid.
The whole series has become a joke. If it goes like bl3 or wonderland did it will be the death of the title.

Would love a Borderlands where at level cap, the game doesnt just become a one tap second wind simulator.
Would also love if each playthrough has some specific attached to it. Like maybe when you complete story quests in the the first playthrough, it unlocks dialogue or different dialogue or consequence and reward choices, in the next difficulty. Or maybe elaborates and shows a different or extended cutscene. Or maybe in the second playthrough you get a different kind of skill system to unlock, instead of just gradually working down one tree for 3 playthroughs
