I have never seen Alex laugh like that! Hillarious! Live and learn.

Steven Spielbergs passion project was “”The Fabelmans.”
“ROMA” was Alfonso Quarón’s lifetime passion project l. “Megalopolis,” was Francis Ford Coppola’s.
A “Passion Project,” isn’t filming sunset. Each of those directors made those films 35-45 years ago and felt they needed to be ready and at the top of their craft.
Like this, it’s a passion project I’ve wanted to do (and planning it out over 4 years ago, and paid out of my own pocket, money I had saved years to do so.
Went to Tokyo, Japan for a few months. I’m a TV commercial director with my twin brother for the last 20 years. And going to Japan to film was a massive challenge, but such an amazing to do.
Also Chris shot my short film in Japalllm

An Eclair NPR would have been much better. When I was at Granada Television these are what we use for everything. News, documentaries, comedy and drama. the Eclair NPR was also use widely by the BBC, London Weekend Television, Thames Television and so on.

Haven’t heard of that camera, but now I do. And there are a few for rent in the LA area for half of the SR2. Only thing is because it’s a lot more rare, I would be nervous for first time users as the sr2 is one of the easiest to learn to load. Would have been interesting to try, but my DP made the final call

@@tannerbrowningfilms The Eclair NPR rare? Certainly not. They were used all around the world in television for nearly 30 years and in special effect.
The thing that made them so special is they were so quiet and because of the ergonomic design, which the camera was designed by a former cameraman who worked for Eclair. They could be used hand held for long periods of time.
Some of the major productions that used the Eclair NPR include:
A Jewel In The Crown - 14 part dramatic series from Granada Television shot in India. (1983) - In US aired on PBS
Michael Palin's Great Railway Journeys of the world (1980)
Michael Palin's Around The World In 80 Days (1988)
Michael Palin's Pole to Pole (1991)
The Last Bastion - Australian TV mini series (1984) - in US aired on PBS
Woodstock - 1970 documentary on the 1960 music festival.
      The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
      And many more.
Trust me there is no need to be nervous using them. They were designed so that they can be pickup up by any camera operator.
I know that if you use one. You would never want to go back. Loading the magazine is also very easy and very quick.

That’s a great rate. I still think in the end for the rest of the cost to shoot on 35 still would have been a lot more for a similar runtime.
      Thats in the future hopefully!

Haha, you can get a 35 mm DP in LA for 100 bucks a day. Some old alcoholic with stories to tell.
