Hey !! I'm planning on doing a 07k swap but I have a question? what injector I have to use !! like I want id 2750cc injector ?! will that fit the manifold u sell on the websites?
Nice 3d printed intake! That is pretty much a tried and true design. Id say you could probably slather some epoxy or plastic welding to get the intake sealed up where you need it just for your base runs/ temporary R&D. That valve cover is quite the piece as well. They certainly use quite a bit of anaerobic sealant on these motors for sure. Hondabond, yamabond, grey permatex, etc. will probably work just the same. I've seen the coils 'ribs cut down' as well so I think you're right on the money there. Really great work, I love this swap. Who doesn't love the sound of a 5cyl?!?!?😁
Call up a company in Dallas Texas called Poly Print and see if they can print that intake for you in one piece. They have helped me with large prototypes before
We run 3d printed intake manifolds (ABS Plus) occasionally on the dyno (For manifold development).... IF you're very careful, use weld in threaded inserts, sleeves to stop the head flange from crushing, a phenolic gasket under it at the head- it'll last a few pulls. They crumble under the clamping pressure from bolts, leak vacuum right through the porous 3d print, and the heat from the cylinder heat will basically kill them. If you had it SLS from fiber reinforced nylon, it might last.
Much appreciated! It’s really exciting to see the channel grow to this point, can’t wait to keep it going and hopefully do some bigger and crazier builds!
@@BoostBrothersGarage You are welcome, I am looking forward to seeing the 07k done too. I have been following a few other builds using the 07k, one is the NA version Joey Webber has been working pn.
Every time and I mean literally every time I want to big turbo my b6 a4 1.8t, I always think really? Would I do audi justice with going big on a 4cyl! (Although it's one heck of a 4 banger) NO! 5cyl is the way to go and your guys build has confirmed that. Awesome work that 5cyl sound is truly signatory and epic!
@@BoostBrothersGarage older audis are amazing platforms to work on period. I look forward to seeing progress on your B6! Also there is a Romanian I believe name Alex mirea. He swapped the 2.5 ttrs into his b5 (on youtube) (cepa 2.5?? I guess that's the direct injection version of the 07K found in the TTRS), that's if to say you guys are still keeping the 5cyl flame alive for the B6. Amazing work through and through, I gotta pass my medical board licenses then perhaps will have some scratch to attempt the 5cyl swap!
@@BoostBrothersGarage and too much headache (port injection simpler and perhaps would avoid the carbon buildup most direct injection VAGs are plagued with). Integrated engineering has proved with their 9 grand plus rpm 07k NA build that bigger valves throttle body etc etc are available for this unit, so there is a plethora of aftermarket parts go make head flow like a TTRS. The only thing I could not find was a girdle kit, to strengthen further the bottom end. Anyways tons of potential as you guys are seemingly aware of! Mucho respects for the well wishes!
Nice project ! I've ran and sold many 3D printed intake manifolds for Porsche, never for turbo engines, but I have a few years of experience with them. I've had some for 986, 996, and now I have one on my 928. Looks like yours was made by FDM, it's good for validating the fitment and cast one in aluminum out of it. But you could use a 3D printed one directly without any problem if it's designed correctly and made with the right machine by the right guys ! I don't know how much your aluminum one will cost you, but that might save you some $$$ ;) If you want to talk about it, feel free to contact me, I'd love to help you on that part of your project !
Thanks Benjamin! This one is actually ABS, but it was printed on an SLA filament machine. It won’t see any boost as this particular engine will remain NA. The main reason for doing it was to validate fitment as well as have a “plan b” in case our cast aluminum prototype didn’t show up in time for 944Fest. Appreciate the great info!
I plan on 3d printing a ABS intake manifold for a 7m supra, It's turbod and will only see max 30psi ever in it's life. What would you recommend for infill levels?
Thanks! I will be running the NA trans on this build. If you were to turbo it you would definitely want to upgrade. I’m not 100% sure what the NA trans will hold up to but I’m going to find out!
The 3d print intake looks just like the integrated enginnering one, you guys sell the 3d printed ones? Do you still have space for the ac compressor since you had to relocate the power steering? Thanks
It is basically the exact opposite of the IE intake, it faces the crank pulley instead of the flywheel. We don’t sell the 3D printed ones, they would actually be more expensive! AC has to go.
Thanks! I believe so, yes. However, we don’t have one around here to measure. If someone can get us a 3D scam of the engine bay or at least some detailed measurements we could confirm. The engine mount needs to be looked at too.
I actually have a right and left hand drive crossmember so I will try and dig them out to see the differences if any for the engine mounts. If ready I am planing on purchasing a kit next year for my rally cross car.
@@BoostBrothersGarage must have missed it. that's a balls to the wall insane build right there. buying a 987.1 S soon so i can have an excuse to put a m96 in there if the bores are scored.
Everything seems to fit and be proportioned exactly to the car, it's uncanny how well that engine lives in there.
Right? Let’s just hope it performs as well as it looks!

This is getting exciting
Almost the home stretch!
Honda bond and Yamabond is bad ass stuff for sealing cases and covers like that btw it’s cheap at most dealers too
I also sell Chevy ls coil conversion harnesses for those style 1.8t plugs if you ever need any
Great Work
Thanks!
love the video.can't wait to see a complete kit and cost to convert to new motor.
Thanks Charles!
I'm putting an 07K in my mk2 gti this month! Subbed right now and so excited to see the progress.
Awesome, that’s going to be sick! What’s a MK2 weigh, 2,000 lbs?

Where can I buy that intake in Aluminum?
Es el motor jetta 2.5 ?
Can I ask what is the length of the engine with the flywheel and front pulley installed please?
I don’t know off the top of my head, let me see if I can get it for you.
Boost Brothers Garage that will be brilliant, I’m considering a swap into a early UK short nose Volkswagen T4 Caravelle with a Quattro conversion
Do y’all have the file for that intake manifold?
I need this swap when will it be available?
The complete kit will be September or October, although a number of the parts are available now!
Can it use 07k stock drive by wire?
Yes, as well as a 911 GT3 drive by wire, which is larger than the stock 07K.
