This was taken at Auster Rookery off Mawson Station in Antarctica in 2015. The parent carried the young chick out from the colony to show it off to me :D

Lmao no, in all seriousness though I totally know what you’re saying and I feel like the penguin is showing off her chick to the cameraman, I know in one of the documentaries they showed a penguin father I think showing off his chick right after it hatched, I think they are very proud of their cute chicks, and I think that since the cameraman here appeared to pose no threat to them, the penguin felt like showing off his/her chick to him. Absurdly cute.
Fun fact: Penguins actuallly never see a human being so if you get close to them they would not be threaten as they would think you're one of them

lesb lee I know, I’ve watched it so many times now. Penguins to me are so cute, especially emperors! Love their perfect shiny white fat bellies, and how gently they interact with their beaks to their chicks, same with their feet, looking at this penguins feet for example, she has like a very careful gentle step or something to them. I can’t explain it but just looking at an emperor penguins feet when they have a chick on top of them, it has a look like you can tell they take extra care in their movements and when they stand. Also as someone pointed out you can see the chicks feet on top of the mothers feet. And that fat penguin lying on its stomach a few feet a way! Lmao so cute! Also someone pointed out how it’s like the penguin is showing off her chick to the guy with the camera. I really got that vibe watching this. So fucking cute this whole video I don’t know what to do. What do I do!?

The chick is so cute!
She/He walked all the way over to the cameras so they could show off their baby. It was red carpet time, stood poised and then okay... gotta go to the next photographer. They walked a long ways with their chick to show off as you can see the colony at the .50 mark. Shows what a proud parent as they should be considering what they have to go through to raise a baby.
