Eli Cohen was a dedicated, country loving and wise spy of Israel who did not die in vain. In the Book of Numbers Chapter 13:1-25, two of the greatest spies were Joshua and Caleb who were blessed by GOD.
My uncle friend was a technician for an Israeli technology company in Uganda.. at least this what they thought, after he died in his 90s mossad came to the funeral and told them that he had a different job for the government for all those years ( they still don’t know what exactly..)
@@DoodiDo no, that’s not how people found out that Skorzeny was Mossad. Skorzeny died in 1975, peacefully, of lung cancer. If you must know, this is a hottest potato I'm Israel currently. There were many preliminary signs, but the prevailing belief among top officials of the intelligence bodies was that Hamas wouldn't dare, that they have too much to lose (economically, ststus-wise, men power etc.), a belief known today as "the conception". There was also an over reliance on the technology in and around the security fence that they let the manpower around the fence to dwindle. There will be an investigation after the war is over and these officials will have a lot to answer for.
my theory is since there had been relatively peace for roughly 15 years or so after the fence went up, the mentality among the Israeli government and agencies became relaxed in their guards and complacent - they thought their neighbors had become peaceful.
@@Placidzzz peaceful? No. None of Israel's neighbors are peaceful (with the probable exception of the Mediterranean fishes). Neither are Jordan and Egypt btw, which still undermine Israel's security in various ways despite the formal peace agreements. The complacency came from ascribing western logic to Islamists, in terms of risk-reward. The Islamists do not simply seek convenient lives, strong economy and plenty of choices, these are nice-to-have's but are way down in their priority list. Their first priority is restoring Islam to its' days of glory by defeating the west, and primarily Israel (which is considered a western post in the "land of Islam"). Secondly, reclaiming the honor of the Arab nation, which was lost after several humiliating defeats at the hands of Israel. Third, fulfilling the Islamic commandment of Jihad, in which death for Allah plays a major role and is a gateway to heaven and 72 virgins (yes, they really believe it).
