- We went off the beaten path with this deck, as I combined the speed and power of ninjas with some excellent fixing and a selection of the Cube's best cards. Genius, or madness?

"I've got an easy green splash here if I want it"
_passes Undermountain without even looking at it_
Chances are he just didn’t notice it, increasingly more common these days
Drafting without lucky Leo feels like a big miss play
Right? So much lost value.
I miss you showing off your teammates' decks in these team drafts!
I think he does it when he is waiting for his first opponent to build their deck. He is so fast building he is usually ready to play before his allies are done building. I agree, it is nice to see the allies' decks to see what passed cards got picked up and when!
Man, I watch too many of these LSV drafts. I just walk around the house screaming "and then hEeEeEre"
6:05 You describe Karakas as washed. How closely connected is that to the power level of all the initiative creatures?
just got a manatraders subscription and joined the divination discord. looking forward to running some vintage cube!
Seems like whenever LSV starts to get decent mana he adds a colour. Even choosing worse cards for the deck (DT over mana drain in a non-combo deck) to support it. The only reason to play more colours is to play bombs that you otherwise couldn't, not to play worse cards so you can play worse mana. The payoff just isn't there, there's more than enough good cards in two or three colours. It's hard to overstate how much of a disadvantage bad mana gives you, it's roughly equivalent to giving your opponent power. There's a huge difference between 'good enough' and actually good.
LSV always seems to really enjoy when he actually drafts focused, consistent decks and it's great to watch. He lost to a couple of five colour decks a year or so ago and it seems like it permanently altered his brain chemistry to need to go 4-5 colour whenever he gets three fetches or 3 colours of cards.
He's entitled to do whatever he wants of course.
The DT pick wss obviously more of a hate pick than a value one. It is a team draft after all.
Yes, LSV loves lands a little too much. He always wants his options open, but it causes him to miss out on 2-3 solid cards each draft. He goes 5-color way too often, and he just gets frustrated by the lack of consistency. That said, his luck has been horrendous the past 6 months. He's graceful in defeat, but I think it's starting to get to him.
@@Mindscape6 true
The MTGO Gods have Sandy passing to LSV or LAV passing to Sandy often lol
A card you almost never draft is Esika's Chariot, but you have lost plenty when opponents play it.
Maybe it should be a tad higher on your picking list Luis!
Passing undermountain adventurer without even mentioning it when it's better than every single card in your pile and you have two green lands is absolutely insane to me. Whats going on ?
the man has sleepless nights from being blessed recently with twins
>Fallen Shinobi
>Leyline Binding
>Mox Ruby
>VINDICATE BACKGROUND
You and the editor were really cooking with this thumbnail lmao
Surprised not to see undermountain even get a small consideration in P2P1, you already have 2 free green sources and many cheap flyers. It really looks like a sick initiative/monach deck and it’s only the start of the 2nd pack.
I hope we get to see the video of the 3 pick per turn sheet draft he was talking about
He didn’t take Raffine’s Tower so he could say Stomping Ground + Raffine’s Tower is Tron. Beginning to think this is an imposter.
thats splinter twin
LSV goes from calling a card broken one week to calling it washed a week later/
Honestly surprised LSV didn’t try to go Thassa’s Oracle and wheel Doomsday
Man, the RW deck would have been so good.
Yep. When he passed Comet, I started tracking what he could have had. Would have been sweet.
@ could have had like a half dozen single red burn spells with library
Hey there LSV, great to see you again, for another awesome one i guess, will be watching now. I was wondering if you will be doing some arena cube's again, its Back again, currently standing 5/1 with a beautifull orzov lifegain/drain Deck, with 6 wakers, Ghost council, pearl collecter, unstappable slasher comho too
Ooof, that match 1 game 1 could have been a nice victory
Is picking a fetch land over a Wasteland ideal, if the Wasteland can be used to limit the colors the fetch land helps you fix for?
If you're playing a lot of colours then Wasteland gets a lot worse because of your mana requirements. Conversely, fetchlands get better in that scenario.
I would so much take the opal😳, then relic, bankbuster, foundry....
Love the videos. Just wanted to let you know that your mic has been cracking
This was a hot 4c filter trible
It's almost like MTGO came out in 2002
Does anyone know which cube is this, and if so where can I finde the list? Thanks! 🙏
it might be lsv's cube
chad draft
30:20 can someone explain why Voidwalker wasn't played as a second blocker? Luis doesn't finish his sentence "I think I'm not gonna play the Voidwalker cuz..." and then says he needed two blockers??
voidwalker has Shadow, creatures with Shadow can only block or be blocked by other creatures with Shadow.
@RichardBourdon thank you, knew there was something I forgot!
You could have not attacked with the bat alongside the adventurer, one more blocker and you see one less card. (at the 31:00)
Draws the leyline binding…. This is such a tragedy 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
1:05:38 Headliner Jules
Flash fun
Plz play and post the arena cube LSV 🙏
I think Jace is at a point where it should be cut for a different planeswalker. How times change...
at least we know which Jace you are talking about when you just say 'Jace' , that is something not all planeswalkers can boast about
@Blackadder75 it's definitely got that going for it!
Probably, but it's one of those cards that's so iconic and powerful enough I could see it sticking around. Some cards are symbolically necessary for cubes.
I disagree, I think he's strong enough. Ironically in this tempo oriented cube I think his minus ability is actually really strong.
@@PerhapsOOTMM even that will fade eventually (and I'd argue we're already there). Look at a vintage cube list from 2018 and it's full of "iconic cube cards" that were power crept out of the format.
Yeah but what happened to Mack?
Lunch time
My only thought is maybe you are trying to draft fair decks too often in an unfair cube. Perhaps the fetchland over emrakul pick was where you went off course. Alternatively high power cubes are swingy. Pretty sure there was no combination of cards that would have won you match 2
could we move on from the powermax cube? It's gotten a bit stale.
Library of Alexandria feels a lot like Fastbond to me. If you have it in your opening hand with the right supporting cards, it's absolutely busted. But it's a horrible top deck, and even in certain opening hands, it's not amazing.
The benefit of library is it replaces a land slot, so even if it’s not popping off it can still act as a land. And if you have good mana, having 1 colorless land is a low cost.
Whereas fastbond can be completely dead sometime and it replaces a spell slot.
Ninjas in all colours? Is this the new Assasin's Creed?
It feels like LSV is losing disproportionately to Chariot decks these days. Perhaps the GW token win-rate is higher than previously expected? I realize it's very anecdotal and confirmation bias, but all the same.
he just drafts a lot of slow decks with little interaction that need to both make it to a late game and not have his things answered. That's not a good recipe in a fast draft format with a boatload of must answer threats. Pack 1 Pick 1 library feels like a criminal pick to me in this particularly cube.
I love watching LSV but his pick order is heavily biased towards his favorites.
Pick 2 he takes a fetch over Comet saying it’s ok, but 2 picks later it’s Mox Opal that catches his eye, after picking 2 lands and a bat.
This is just not a library deck, you want to be dumping cards.
Worst Deck in a while. Painfull yet entertaining 🙂
