  • The previous video was about how I went through all the troubles to breed Amapa Tetra. This episode will be another "easy" growth record video... Heh heh. It's not that easy to be "slacking off," though, since I filmed them every day for over a month without missing a single day, which is quite a task. Unfortunately, I don't have much time and money to breed various types of tetras at the same time, and my skills are also quite limited.
Thank you all for your continued support as always!

    Dear Bo:
How do you feel about culturing Daphnia magna or Moina macrocopa? Culturing green water (Chlorella vulgaris), for this, indoors is relatively easy, as I showed in a recent video.
I continue, to culture vinegar eels (Turbatrix aceti), as a first food, for species, with fry too small, to start, on brine shrimp nauplii. I hope to have Gabon killifish (Aphyosemion gabunense) fry, soon.
Vinegar eels are the easiest, live food, to culture. I merely keep cultures, in a closet. I check on them, periodically. My cultures used to expire, due to mold. But, since I discontinued keeping them, in my crawlspace and resumed keeping them, in a closet, they have been fine, for months.
Thank you, for sharing this, terrific, grow-out video on Hyphessobrycon amapaensis; a truly appealing species. It’s lovely, to see you have good success, with this, breeding project.
    All my best,
    Sincerely,
    E. J. Brinegar

I think it's easy to culture daphnia for fun, but if I were to keep them as a constant food source, it would be too difficult. As I may have mentioned, my daphnia cultures always end up being crushed in the end. For me, it's easier to keep a bloodworm culture going continuously, although I'm not sure if this can truly be called a "culture" since they are just midge larvae. However, my tetras love them! It's impressive that you have a good technique for keeping your vinegar eels, but I think I won't consider culturing them in the near future, as I'm already quite busy taking care of my tetras. Haha.

      Dear Bo:
I’m quite jealous, that you get bloodworms, in buckets you leave, outside. All I get, when I do this is mosquito larvae.
It’s easy, for me, to culture plenty of vinegar eels, to offer, as a first food, for fry. But, I only offer the other, live foods I culture, as treats; perhaps once a week. I do hatch brine shrimp nauplii, daily, to offer, to Endler’s livebearers.
You are doing a terrific job, breeding numerous characins. It’s a pleasure, to correspond, with a fine aquarist, such as yourself.
Thank you, for all you do, for the FishFam Community.
      Sincerely,
      Brinegar

What day in December did you start feeding them and what did you feed prior to live baby brine ??? Great work !!

Hello my friend! I started feeding them BBS on December 23, day 5. I didn't feed them anything prior to that, as I feed almost all my tetra fry BBS as their first food. Thank you for your support. BTW, I also recently purchased 6 Hyphessobrycon metae and hopefully will breed them in the future.

@@knyghtryder3599 Haha, it may take quite a while for them to grow as they are still quite small, only 2cm. I'm planning to buy a few more. I think mine have a silver/blue line. Thanks!
