really puts into perspective how much Glenn, Matt, and Lucia was to Sephiroth. They are the few that manage to get him to open up and trust them during these times when he secluded himself from everyone else. His time with them is maybe the reason why he was willing to open up to Angeal later. That aside, considering the constant pink spirits things around Alissa in the beginning, I suspect she is either Jenova or something related to Jenova. It is rather strange how the spirit orbs color is not their usual color.
Agree with you and this was well-written. I really hope Alissa is Jenova or at least is completely under Jenova's control but even if not we clearly know Jenova is messing with Sephiroth so it's still win-win lore.

10/10. Loving the new characters and finally some Jenova characterization at least I hope that's Jenova. It boosts the hope a bit to see that the compilation is being expanded and is well-written. It's still kind of a shame that this kind of stuff top quality stuff isn't in a mainline game and that all the best lore remains stuck in obscure spin offs in episodic formats but yeah I'll take it!
Probably. Jenova is said to impersonate people's loved ones, especially dead ones in order to manipulate people. So this being a hallucination from her wouldn't surprise me.
Love it that we were near the same age! Age of the 90s generation, nostalgia! I respect that Tetsuya Nomura stays with the story's timeline and certainly appreciated for those of us who grew up on this amazing story and game *.* Glad he keeps Sephiroth-sama meek and cold originally, but in this situation I understand it and love him feigning off his elusive and cold persona just to protect Glenn, Matt and Lucia. They were the clearly the best impression on him and even paternal figures esp Glenn. I loved how he was taking him under his wing like a father figure that any kid really needs; you can feel the emotion in respects of perspective. Makes me sad for Sephiroth that they are gone but love how he is protecting them. Shinra corporation and Hojo are clearly the true villains in the game since after playing the original. It's no Sephiroth but he is one of many victims and becomes Karma itself on how people turn on blind eye in truth and corruption. I love Karma. Cosmic justice for those who think they can get away in wrong doings.( Although a genocide is over the top) upposed to rather than being too chummy or soft. As cold and cruel as his sword in the future. I'm so thrilled to see his background story of the building blocks of his own cherished friends Angeal and Genesis *.* I would have liked it if this wasn't another random field assignment in the story though, and steer more in the direction province of Midgar. Oh glad my Sephy-sama loves pumpkin soup. I have a small pumpkin ready to cook up. Love to try it esp in spirits of loving this character since a kid and commemorating my love for FF7 and it being my virgin first play at a JRPGS and RPGS. I didn't interpret him as being actually 16, more that he just means he looks older than that. And him being 16 still doesn't line up with the timeline, because that would mean he was born a year before Project Jenova even started, and we know that's not the case because the Ultimania states Angeal's mother was infused with Jenova cells while he was still in the womb.

I wish the story leaned more on introspection and brooding rather than falling into the cliche of companions 'dragging an edgelord Sephiroth out of his shell.' This approach undermines his character’s depth by making his growth reliant on others rather than his own internal journey. The First Episode handled Sephiroth more or less decently (though I wish more time was dedicated to Sephiroth's and Team Glenn's relationship and it was more developed), but here, it feels a bit forced and cringey. Also, the idea that Shinra 'would be a shadow of its current self without Sephiroth' is odd, given he's only been active for about a year on missions. And they could always pick someone else to serve as a poster boy. And who’s supposed to teach Sephiroth that SOLDIER isn’t all bad? Angeal, the ever-optimistic buddy? That makes no sense-especially considering that the SOLDIER continue doing exactly what they've always done - serving as Shinra's loyal enforcers and shock troops, and Angeal doesn't really change anything about that. It would make far more sense for Sephiroth to mentor Angeal, showing him the harsh realities of Shinra and SOLDIER, rather than the other way around. Angeal’s own morals would naturally clash with these realities, leading him to reform his own perspective on being a SOLDIER and heroism. It also seems like they’re introducing a love interest or something along those lines (that either will get sacrificed somewhere in the story or will be the clone walking in the opening). Not sure, if this is going to be bad or good. Plus, that name-Alissa Goldie-seriously? It sounds exactly like something Nojima would write... lmao.
Yeah i kinda wish they would focus more on Sephiroth showing Angeal and later Genesis the truth about Shinra and how the SOLDIER program isn't what they think it is, i mean, Sephiroth knows it better than anyone, that's why he's not interested in any of the missions. I'm kind of getting tired of the whole SOLDIER honor thing ngl, even in Rebirth the way they wrote Zack it was like he had learnt absolutely nothing in CC, "how could you turn your back on everything we stand for" like really? I know that honor is more Angeal's vision, but still, SOLDIERs aren't exactly the good guys in this game.

Whether she’s a mutated piece, possessing a corpse, controlling a living being, or just an illusion, I’m not sure, but it seems she’ll try to seduce Sephiroth in some way before ultimately revealing her true nature. The final part of the opening video, where Sephiroth fights 'Hojo,' might actually show the wisps transforming from 'Alissa' into him. Given that 'Alissa' doesn’t appear in any promotional material for the episode, it’s likely she won’t be a major character. @@nikahaziny The whole 'SOLDIER honor' concept would make much more sense if it were something Angeal develops after confronting the harsh realities of working for Shinra. Eh I think Sephiroth’s prickliness here is just because he absolutely hates being filmed or having his picture taken and is trying to give the camera as little to work with as possible. Also as someone with a similar personality IRL yes no matter how many times you get coaxed out of your shell it always comes back on when you meet new people. And in story he probably got punished by Hojo for his role in Team Glenn’s defection, which would mean he got punished for making friends meaning he’s less open to friendship now. And he just saw Shinra order SOLDIER to commit genocide for mako, being presented with a partner who believes Shinra’s good guy image so strongly is probably annoying.
Genesis will likely be in the next episode. I also thought he would be introduced along with Angeal, but seeing how Sephiroth is, it makes sense to introduce them one at a time. 😊
