Ronnies version of the song is an absolute masterpiece! Brings me to tears every time i hear it. I'm glad he was the one who chose to reimagine this and no ones else...it wouldn't have the same impact in my opinion if it were done by anybody but Ronnie! Enjoyed your reaction very much and your appreciation for it's message ❤
I was a teen when i first heard Papa Roach. I like this version more than the original. Damn, bro. I'm drunk enough that i started to think that my brain started going backwards. Don't mess with me like that, man. 🤣🤣 And i've been on that self- cancel edge myself twice at least. I was alone. All it took was me. There was no one else to lean upon. But i made it. And i'm glad.
Jacoby (the lead singer of Papa Roach) had asked a couple of bands if they wanted to do s cover of this song with their own take on it, I think it was for the 25th or 30th anniversary of the song and Ronnie and FIR were the only ones willing to take on such an iconic song and since Ronnie has reimagined his own songs prior I'm sure it was pretty easy for him to change it so drastically in the production and the overall feel of the song, as he's done with his own songs. There's a video of Ronnie showing an unmixed and unmastered version to Jacoby for his approval - it's an interesting video to watch, to see how nervous Ronnie was having Jacoby listen to it. 💙💙💙🔥🔥🔥
Great reaction. Yea, this is a cover of the original song by Papa Roach that was released in the early 2000's. Ronnie has used exactly the same lyrics but altered the structure, arrangement and tempo of the song giving us two wonderfully unique masterpieces. For those of us who spent our youth listening to the Papa Roach version, its often said that the original song expressed the rage and angst we felt as teens, whereas this reimagined version expresses the melancholy and sorrow we can feel as adults. Amazingly beautiful.
I have heard the orginal from papa roach so many times but this really make u pay attention and feel how deep the lyrics are. Ronnie is an amazing artists.
Great reaction, HAP, I really liked your analysis and thoughts on it💕🙏. I think this is my favorite so far of the ones I've heard on the channel. For me it has everything. Great vocals, heavy rock elements combined with classical instruments, great cinematics and not to mention meaningful lyrics. I'm starting to see why this group's music helped you Amy, great choice 💕🤩🙋🏻♀️.
Thank you Uschi ❤ I never had bad thoughts like what Ronnie Radke is singing about. I was sad at the loss of my brother and mother, and yes, it would have been nice for someone to say it's ok. I did feel nothing was fine. But, I would never do anything to hurt myself. I had a friend who did, out of nowhere. I just think his rendition of this song really showed off his vocal skills. Can't wait to meet him in September along with Jelly Roll and Tech9 ❤
Thank you, Hap, for this reaction. This really showed off Ronnie Radke's vocal ability. I sent you the link to the original and to the reaction of the original artists reaction to Ronnie Radke's version (Ronnie is the lead singer for Falling in Reverse). ✌️ ☮️ 🥷
Your intro was funny 😂 Wow on this song! It's much different than the original, but the same lyrics. Loved this man's voice and actually preferred it over the original. Only time I ever thought that was on Sound of Silence when Disturbed did their version. This was a masterpiece. Thank you for your empathetic reaction ❤
Really enjoyed this performance! Reminiscent of Linkin Park. Great melody intermixed with a harder edge. Love your analysis and honest reactions Hap. Enjoyed your choice Amy!! 😊
They're their own genre.
