- Komodo’s jaw is designed for pulling and shearing flesh from its prey using 60 sharp recurved serrated teeth. The longest tooth can be up to 2 cm. The actual bite force of Komodo dragon is weaker than other large reptiles such as crocodiles. Komodo dragon's often produce large amount of saliva when expecting food. Saliva in its mouth contain several bacterial strains and toxin produced from venom gland located at the base of the teeth. Komodo has a very sharp olfactory system supported by a Jacobson organ within the nasal chamber. Odor particles are detected by its forked tongue and then move into the Jacobson organ, causing the brain to react. The tongue has a yellow color that distinguished from water monitor Varanus salvator, which has black tongue.

That deer was put there intentionally to be fed alive. How can a lone deer turns up on a beach. I am reporting this video, this is not natural this uploader fed that poor deer alive to those komodo dragons.
Don't be smooth brained. If you know how these lizards hunt, then you'd know how live pretty end up paralyzed.
When deers sleep the komodo dragons bite them and then they leave, after hours the deer is infected with venom and then they can't move so komodo dragons eat them alive. more Animal Planet

海岸で鹿を食べているのが不自然。弱った鹿を餌として与えてるの？
いや、コモドドラゴンの生息地ではごく当たり前の海岸での捕食シーンです。このシカは既に毒がまわり動きたくても動けない。意識はあるのに身体が動かない状況。生きながら喰われる最悪の死に方だと思いますがコモドの捕食はこういうモノでヒト噛みで致命傷を与えます。さらに獲物が弱るまで何時間でもずっとついていきますから恐ろしい。水牛やバッファローも同じ様に食べます。
あまりオススメはしませんが、コモド捕食で検索したらこれよりグロい断末魔の音つき動画が沢山あります。

何となく鹿って木の実と食べるために森の中にいる勝手なイメージがあって、見通しが良くて隠れる所が無くて餌も無さそうな海岸の海辺を歩いているイメージが無かったのですが、これがごく普通の風景なのですね。勉強になります。
@@上杉剣心 いえいえ。自分も初めてコモドの捕食をみた動画が海岸での同じ様な場面でした。あなたと同じ疑問を投げ掛けたらその動画主さんがわざわざ返信してくれて教えてもらいました。
あと咬まれたシカは本能なのかわかりませんが、何故か海岸の方に逃げる傾向らしいですよ。多分海なら草むらも障害物もなく視界がひろくなるから安全と思ってるのかもしれないと話してましたね。

My place in nature would be in the stomach of these komodos to feed them. It must be an incredible feeling to be eaten by those Komodos, nothing is better than being eaten up by a Komodo and digested in its powerful stomach, I would love to join their starving, heavenly stomachs and be digested there, While the komodo keeps me there trapped, and enjoys it, how its stomach acids eating me up, until I'm gone without a trace, to become added as a part of their powerful body for good. Being eaten up and forgotten, while his mighty stomach slowly digests me into nothing, is the best way ever.
