Splawn Nitro with KT88s. Hey Leon, I may have to kill the notifications for your channel. You keep catching me around bedtime. It’s nearly 4 am here in Western Canada and somehow you’ve managed to get my guitar back in my hand… 🤣
I bought my Jubilee new in 1987,still have it…it’s certainly unique for a Marshall, the tone stack is plate driven,so it has much more effect than a typical Marshall tone stack….I don’t think it’s the best sounding amp Marshall ever made, but it’s a great sounding amp….its “fatter”than most Marshall’s..and it’s pretty to look at..I think the Fractal version sounds pretty good,I wish they would add the rhythm clip and lead master though..Happy New Year Leon!
Happy New Year to you Leon (and to all of you guys). Health and great achievements for you and for the band. Keep on the great job mate...We don't give up
Legend! I didn't like this amp model at all either until this update. It sounds so good now! Great video as always. When I dialed this in yesterday I used to CC boost as well. I don't know much about that one. Isn't it a fractal only boost? Is there a drive pedal in the drive blocks that is close to it? TIA Leon
Pretty sure CC stands for Cliff Chase, so it's one of his original designs. I measured it on a really clean amp a while ago and a mid boost somehwere in the 1500-2000hz range with a little high cut. Works real nice!
Thanks for the overview of the new 24.03 Silver J-Happy New Year to you and family, Leon! As always, thank you for the excellent information and lessons you share with us.
Never been able to get along with the Jube either. And wasn't impressed with it here either... until you put that CC boost in the input. Then it was damn good! This amp to me doesn't jump out like a Jcm800 or a plexi as far as presence and cutting through. It feels to me like more of a layering amp. Something you pair with a more cutting, not as distorted sound, to cover sonic space.
Hi Leon, I did it, bought an FM9 via G66, just waiting for delivery. I will be scouring your vids for all that knowledge. I've seen there are a few set up vids you've done (on your own channel and for G66). I will be connecting mine through my Fryette PS2 into 2 Zilla 2x12's with V30's. Have you done an "old school" set up vid for the FM9? If you haven't could you, please? Cheers
Nice! That's a almost creamy sound heavy rock, I can see how with modulation and other pedals thrown in that amp could go from status quo to skid row. Pretty versatile really.
it's weird beast. i actually had one for a while which i bought back in 87. i'm not entirely sure if the axe model in the axe is that, or some "lerxst" variation. it has this slightly odd separation between the mid and treble frequencies, maybe due to the high Q values of the pots, but it does sound great, especially through V30's which were in the original jubilee cabs. thanks for the comparison., it sounds very different now in the new firmware! anyway, happy new year, bro!
@@LeonTodd yes, choptones do some. here's the lowdown from an original jubilee user on rig talk - Using the Jubilee circuit with its properly matched V30 speakers is like a key fitting precisely into a lock. Everything falls right into place. It's finally like coming home, and is the tone I've always wanted from that amp! It's not about V30s or G12M-70's or G12T-75s being good or bad speakers, it's about the amp designer matching the amp's eq's frequencies to work precisely and ideally with the chosen speaker that they DESIGNED THE AMP AROUND. Shame on Marshall for voicing the Jubilee specifically for Vintages, and then selling most of these amps and cabs with G12M-70's or G12T-75s, as a downgrade. While it can work fine with the 70's or 75's, and is just OK sounding (maybe), the V30's DESTROY IN THIS AMP. It sounds BEAUTIFUL. I can't even believe I'm writing that!!!! I've been known all these years to really dislike and even openly hate on V30s with many amps. I'm pleasantly shocked. Everything I disliked about V30s with my other marshalls is completely the opposite with the Jubilee.
Leon - This is my favorite amp ever and I don’t know why 😂 Can you please make a custom preset that does all the settings - clean, crunch, dirty, and lead - I will pay you handsomely 🎉
Still haven’t dipped into the fractal world. They’ve not done a product which gives me everything I want. Buttttt, I think their next gen stuff just might. If I could dial in a Black Album tone, a Kill Switch type tone and then at the press of a button into a Yngwie tone and a Mark Knopfler tone that would be awesome. But essentially, I want a smaller FM9, easier to fit on stage with an expression pedal and Axe Edit available for for smartphone and tablet connected via Bluetooth or WiFi. Or make it a mini powered head unit with a handy 5 way foot witch with small expression pedal separate so you don’t destroy a 2 grand piece of tech when some drunk dude falls over and spills their pint.
Leon… your content is amazing… you convinced me to buy an axe fx… but question…. Im trying to run my axe fx as a big fx unit thru my mlc dual stereo line mixer…. But I’m getting phase issues… no matter what phase setting my I/o is set at… curious if you have any fixes for this??? If I bypass the input it all sounds normal… engage the input n back to phase issues
Hi Leon, I actually preferred the pre-update version. Is there a way you can save amp models as they are prior to an update, so you can then update, a sort of best of both worlds?
Kinda like the old one better. So when upgrading to a new firmware, does it update all the sounds? Potentially wrecking a sound you were already happy with while "fixing" others?
Hey Leon are you using real amps still in recording situations ie Ragdoll etc. or you’re happy with modelers? I’m selling my amps, either going digital or synergy
@@LeonTodd you’ve just thrown a spanner in the works. Fractal are just so darn expensive. I guess I could afford a fm3. If they come out with an amp only pedal I’d be all for it.
Yeah Leon Euge is awesome too ... Love his sound he plays with ... Total filth ... theres metal and then theres euge metal .. his partner is awesome too. I call them thor and loki... But your partner is the best with his fur coat... 😺 Can you imagine how good he will become when he picks up guitar.. ..😅 will definitely be a new guitar hero then
It still does NOT sound like the real Jubilee. On the real amp that bass control knob gets way too beefy at about 3 O'clock. The real amp has that "Lead Master" knob which is vitally important to the tone of this amp model. Without that control, this amp model is useless. I don't know why Cliff doesn't get a real Jubilee and model it. This Lexrst model is not the real deal.
What amp models would you like to see me dial in next?
Splawn Nitro with KT88s.

Diezel or ENGL 🤘

Second the Splawn’s!
Cliff living his best life apparently involves improving models on holiday. Immensely grateful for that! Cheers Leon, Cliff, all! 🥂Best, Daniel
What a legend hey
Thanks for this! Love this model!

That's interesting to know! Seems like they purposely tried to do something different with it
The Silver Jubilee is such a great freaking amp. Sounded Epic Leon
I'm hooked now!

This sounds really smooth, great video and Happy Newyear Leon!!!
Happy new year!
Keep playing at the end. We will stay dialed in. Always a pleasure to hear you play, Leon.
Nice to know mate! Might have to leave some extended outros in the future

I learned a lot during the year. It was useful and fun, Leon. Thank you and see you again in the new year~! Happy New Year. 😄
Happy to hear that! Happy New Year.
This amp suits your playing perfectly! Sounds great.
Yeah it can do that Zakk through to Cantrell thing pretty darn well hey

Unique isn't it!
Happy New Years brotha.
You too mate!
I know the old Brit SIlver was based on Alex LIfeson's signature amp that he gave cliff. Pretty sure his 1st gen Mojo Tone Omega was a Jubee copy.
I'm keen to know what Cliff has changed

I've heard a lot of great things about those old Jubilee cabs. I wonder if there's some IR's floating around. HNY man!

Def in the top 5 of G.O.AT amps!
Happy new year, Leon! Do we know if the FM9 will getting this as well?
Most likely
It is a different sounding Marshall, really like it 🤘

Sounds fab!Wondering if Axe Fx 2 can reproduce this?
I think there's a Brit silver model in there, will worth a shot!
EXCELLENT.
Is it typical that Axe FX III updates make it to the FM3? I'd love to check out the Silver Jubilee.
Yep, the FM units get seperate firmware a little after the main unit
I am surprised that first I thought it was some sort of DSL distortion. I think Jubilee is very similar
AFAIK DSL doesn't use clipping diodes like the Jubilee, but they're both awesome amps
Sounds killer. I kinda wish fractal would put a “clip” switch on their silver amp block like the real jubilee. 🤘🏼
That would be awesome!
That’s a diode clip turn on the Saturation about 3 or 4
Hi Leon, I actually preferred the pre-update version. Is there a way you can save amp models as they are prior to an update, so you can then update, a sort of best of both worlds?
There isn't. However apparently you just need to turn the mids up more on this one if you want the old behaviour
This may be the best Axe FX Model I have heard....WOW!
It's jumped up the list for me
@@LeonTodd I have been dialing this in all day. Wow! This is a great update.
@@LeonTodd Add some compression and sag maybe around 3 or so and this amp feels as good as it sounds.
That thing got mean with the bass at 6.
Firmwares in axeiii are running way too fast!!! Great video and great sound!!!
It's raining tone!
Kinda like the old one better. So when upgrading to a new firmware, does it update all the sounds? Potentially wrecking a sound you were already happy with while "fixing" others?
I imagine you can bring it in line with the old version by cranking the mids and master vol a little more.
Sounds juicy AF!
I’ve never “got” the Silver Jube. And I have an original one.
I want to love it but man. Just cannot get it to sound good ever.
Weird tonestack compared to the typical Marshall thing hey
@@LeonTodd Totally. I used to have a 2203 and it was super easy to dial in. The Jubilee sometimes sounds amazing but mostly terrible ha ha.
Fantastic ❤😊
Thank you! Cheers!

Last few ragdoll singles have all been Axe-Fx, pretty stoked with it!

@@LeonTodd they can all have a fur coat and call themselves the Rock Cats.
And still no Lead Master control...
I'll be interested to see if that comes in a future update, along with the other channels
