Tim, this is a genius way to shorten the gap and facilitate understanding the Thai culture from locals, rather than asking another farrang for a similar common opinion. Very entertaining...
Wow, I think you should give Earth a go at reporting. His English is extremely clear, very easy to understand. Not really fair that Tim made everyone report their age but didn’t mention his, don’t you think?
i have a thai friend and he says that thais like to be white because if you have dark skin people think that you are a peasant worker , a farm labourer, loving the new formats keep up the good work and i will be pleased when we can return,
Beer is a beauty. My wife is a dark skin Thai, her stories about being made fun of in Thai School for dark skin and Thias taking injections to get white skin are disturbing.
Really enjoyed this format. A very nice way to understand some Thai thoughts and feelings. Nice too to discover some of the Thaiger Thai staff ( those three youngs lads are really amazing). Good job Tim, keep doing it.
I love this new segment very much! Always want to know what the Thai thinks especially the younger generation. Cannot wait for the next episode. Good stuff again! 👍🏾
My Thai wife of 30+ years immigrated to the US under a fiance visa in the mid 80s. At the time I was living in Hawaii so she had the most gentle transition to moving to the US when it came to climate and Asian culture. Still she complained of being cold, and also avoided the sun at all costs. She'd wrap herself in a sweatsuit and put a beach towel over her head like a turban. It was all about the taboo of dark skin being associated with being a poor farmer/fieldworker. She told me this pointblank. However.... as time went on she realized the millions of western visitors were coming to the island, many seeking the tan that she had by nature and she came around. As for nicknames. That's something I've been dealing with throughout our married life. One thing to note at least in my experience is it's not just about A nickname. My wife had multiple nicknames depending on the social circle. She had different nicknames... within family, schoolmates, and coworkers. Over all these years we've had many Thai friends AND FAMILY for which I have never known their real names, only nicknames.
Onya Timbo, good to see a panel of a younger generation, their prospective views are important, after all they are the new future of Thailand... chai-yoh
@@Richard.Cabeza lol....Dont even think he went to a Thai private school which by the way, is nothing but a glitzy cash grab. I know a teacher at one of the scools in Hua Hin. Tells me parents fork out 18 G's US/yr and level is only equal to a basic US public school. Rather home school em.
Earth speaks North American English without an accent. Did he attend an international school or live and study abroad? Also, very interesting program. Please have more of these in the future.
The Thais are traditionally conservative people and it was refreshing to hear K Kaijeaw speak openly about the current Thai affairs. Khun omelette scores high marks for his sobering remarks on these somewhat taboo topics. Well done son👍
I love this format ask the Thais, feel like I get an honest view from locals, even if they may work for you... hope to see more of them, & love the shirt!
100%- bang on. South Korea is the king of the hill in that. Billion $$ industry and 1 that keeps growing. Also never seen so many well dressed-- old and young. You would go to the supermarket and see people dressed as if there off to the opera
Hi Tim, nice mini series. I think with the ongoing problems with the government, it is not really fair to ask government questions at this time. I am sure Beer, Earth and Kaijeaw would love to say something, but I also think there is a small worry in the back of their minds about possible repercussions. Keep up the great work Tim and everyone at the Thaiger. Now on a much lighter note, please spill the beans on your age. Age is only a number Tim, and whatever age you are, you look great. Kind regards and stay safe. Edi
Very informative. It is good to hear what Thai people have to say directly over western opinions on what Thai people think. I look forward to every episode.
Really appreciate those young people comments ,so so refreshing to see that young generation of Thai been so alert about there country future WOW And for your shirt ,Tim I think that your making a great choice most of the time ,,,some people are simply jealous
My oldest Sister has straight hair and Curls it. My youngest Sister had Curly hair and Straightened it. Caucasians want Tan's. Olive Skinned Europeans want fair skin. I work in America but I want to live in Thailand. So it isn't a Racist thought. It's the way everyone thinks. It's how our minds are wired. BTW: Beer is great. Earth is smart! and Jake speaks his mind openly! Keep them all. Glad you started this series.
When have you started this? I am glad that you've added this to your broadcasting, very informative and at the same time gives them the confidence to express themselves very freely. The gentleman in the middle sounds as though he had been raised in a western country. Way to go guys, keep it up the good works.
this is great! great idea and great result, keep on doing it, im here from ten years ago and i want to say congratlations to you thaiger team and the whole country for the courage to speak about some topics and gain back the freedom of speech and expression, this wasnt possible few years ago and im so happy to see it changing and those young thai people speaking so well and so free.
It's definitely not just Thai people - My ex wife was Chinese, and I had a 5 year relationship with a Japanese lady before that - both wanted to avoid the sun and have light toned skin.. As a westerner (British/Aus) I don't mind either way, but tend to like the same. I suspect it's considered a status thing - working outdoors, especially in the farming areas of Isaan causes many to have darker skin... I love visiting Isaan for the morlum shows with locals and miss there so much....
Tim you and your shirts are epic 😎 👌🏾 My first question of 4 is... #1. Is BEER single?? #2. If not are the other ladies walking in distance behind you?? #3. Earth and Ki (like his mom calls him) do they like to hang out with farangs? #4. Tim will you share your shirts stores/sources?? 😉 This is the first time I ever commented on the The channel but this "ask the Thai's" made me become a subscriber! GREAT JOB!! Keep it going 💯
Excellent interview! What a Great concept hearing direct opinions from the Thais in the studio. These were all very intelligent and well spoken young professionals. Make sure you continue these videos in a series. It will really help people understand the culture and general perspectives.
Really enjoyed this first episode. You have answered some questions I have been asking myself also. Great to learn more about the Thais culture and the beliefs behind it.
Good stuff Tim, Beer, Earth and Kaijeaw, I would love to hear their thoughts on forming friendships with farangs and the types of problems that comes with (communication, culture, etc) thanks
these beautiful people should know that they don't need to try to copy western beauty, their uniqueness makes this world rich and wonderful! please BE YOU! :) thank you for this interview!
I agree. I see many American white women doing every thing they can to obtain and maintain a brown tan. Some pay big money to use a tanning booth. My Thai GF has a beautiful natural tan but she goes to extremes to avoid sunlight. She told me that Thai and Cambodia people don’t get sunburn, they just become darker relatively fast.
The main reason they want white skin is not because of westerns but because people working outdoor in Thailand with low income get dark skin. People with good salary have betters jobs and work in office. So it's a social issue inside Thailand.
'copy western beauty" LOL! The Westerner likes tan so how is that copying Western beauty?I'm Thai, it has nothing to do with Western beauty if you are dark skin you are assumed to be poor and work in the field, it is the same thinking in China, Japan, Korea.
That was great, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great to hear Thai people's opinions in an open format. I hope you keep going with the series.
Tim, this is a genius way to shorten the gap and facilitate understanding the Thai culture from locals, rather than asking another farrang for a similar common opinion. Very entertaining...
Great segment, I hope this will be ongoing. Thank you to the young people for your opinions. 🙏🏽

I enjoyed this segment. Its always good to hear young Thai opinions.
Good to see/hear these all sharing their thoughts about Thailand.
Really, really like this new addition to Thaiger. Please continue to expand on it.
Beer is a beauty. My wife is a dark skin Thai, her stories about being made fun of in Thai School for dark skin and Thias taking injections to get white skin are disturbing.
I really like this new approach ... I hope it continues periodically. Good work.
Its great to see that they were paid during the pandemic. Support to the workers during these times is highly appreciated.
Its a good segment. 😊
Love this segment 💜 Great Job everyone
Really enjoyed that! What a refreshing take on the usual news programmes.

Please do more interviews like this! As a westerner, I love them. Also, Beer needs to be your new co-star on this channel.
"Where did you get that shirt?" 😂, sharp wit will take him far.
I really like this kind of program, please have more of this type of programming.
Hi Tim, it's a good episode. We will understand the views of Thai people. We have to support Younger generations always. Keep going. All the best.
I always appreciate hearing from other cultures.
Very good! Do continue with these. Looking forward to the questions expanding into different topics. The Thaiger is my stop for news these days!
Very fun and informative segment with some really wonderful people. Keep up the amazing work !
Onya Timbo, good to see a panel of a younger generation, their prospective views are important, after all they are the new future of Thailand... chai-yoh

New concept and great delivery of the show.
What a great clip, keep it up! it's different and interesting. I can't wait for the next install
You've gotten very creative with some of these new videos Tim, I'm loving it
Like this, keep em coming.
Great program!
The gentleman named "Earth" is well-spoken. He's the one that should have been running the interview.
I really appreciated this new program! Keep doing it
The dude with the dark shirt is so smooth and well spoken. I'd vote for this guy running for office
Do you think he went to local public thai school?
@@Richard.Cabeza lol....Dont even think he went to a Thai private school which by the way, is nothing but a glitzy cash grab. I know a teacher at one of the scools in Hua Hin. Tells me parents fork out 18 G's US/yr and level is only equal to a basic US public school. Rather home school em.
@@Richard.CabezaMost likely he studied and worked overseas and came back to Thailand for this gig
Probably was an exchange student for a semester or two in the US.
Well spoken indeed.
very informative and entertaining at the same time. Can't wait for the next "ask the Thai's" :)
Earth speaks North American English without an accent. Did he attend an international school or live and study abroad? Also, very interesting program. Please have more of these in the future.
Great addition to your show. Definitely continue this.

Really enjoyed this. A very interesting perspective and great to hear.
Great format! Can't wait about the next one

I love the idea of this new show. In fact i like all the youtube videos created by Thaiger. Keep up the good work!!
Wonderful . So much new information to help farangs understand the culture.
The Thais are traditionally conservative people and it was refreshing to hear K Kaijeaw speak openly about the current Thai affairs. Khun omelette scores high marks for his sobering remarks on these somewhat taboo topics. Well done son👍
Very g0ood you are very humble and kind with your employees God bless you.
I like the interview. Congratulations continue doing that
I love this format ask the Thais, feel like I get an honest view from locals, even if they may work for you... hope to see more of them, & love the shirt!
Great idea for this program !
I and a lot of people love to see the ideas and cultures sharing between Thai and foreigners.
white skin is a status symbol. Its is an issue with most asian societies. So many times I have heard women get scolded for getting darker skinny.
100%- bang on. South Korea is the king of the hill in that. Billion $$ industry and 1 that keeps growing. Also never seen so many well dressed-- old and young. You would go to the supermarket and see people dressed as if there off to the opera

Excellent idea and well delivered.
Absolutely brilliant. Continue.....
Definitely more of this.
Tim, I couldn't stop laughing when you were asking Beer about her name & how unladylike it is. Suggesting Flower or Lily. 😁😁😁 Brilliant!!
The content of da Thaiger is getting better and better, you have built a great team; each one in your team are hand picked. Love it.
