I was amazed at the skill of the pilot. Cross winds, updrafts and fog. But the helicopter held its station so well that it looked like it was tethered. Without the helicopter it would have been a difficult and painful rescue mission.
You'd sometimes see new SAR pilots being trained by crewmen dropping smoke markers down notorious cliffs to mark dangerous downdraughts. I grew up watching 'the paraffin budgies' of 22 sqn RAF flying overhead daily and always felt safe knowing they were out there.
Crib Goch is so fuckin awesome, have only done it once in the summer months where it was still very wet and cloudy but it's straight forward enough if keep your focus and such a buzz. Tried to get to it in winter when it was covered in snow but didn't have the right equipment and turned back. Now I know what is needed in the later months of the year to conquer it, I will be heading back. Respect this mountain or it can bite back hard.
@@XxxXxx-fo1zi id like to see how far i could go, but if chicken out my luck a lot of ppl behind me and hard to pass! lol ive watched the different routes and this is NUTS! lol
I don't know why I see so many people attempting Grib Goch that simply just don't have the experience or the skill. Then stuff like this would not happen.
people will do anything to meet william , well they've had it he's married now ... oh and i paid for the helicopter , along with the rest of the people who pay there taxes so its nice there's atleast one of us getting a little back from time to time . plus how the hell would they get air time you cant fly helicopters with out tons of practice lol
Being up on Crib Goch would be scary enough without a ruddy great helicopter close by.

This shows how skilled the RAF pilots are.

SOME MORONS RUIN THINGS FOR OTHERS...SEND THEM THE BILL FOR THE HELICOPTER
Are people allowed to fly their model helicopters that high up? Couldn't it be disruptive or even dangerous to the climbers?
I had a scary climb up yesterday in similar conditions! Check out my vlog from yesterday
