      Hi, Hazel. I think it should work - I never tried it, but I believe it should not be a problem. You could amke just a small batch to see if it works for you and make more if you end up liking it, perhaps.

    Tip.
    If You ever use lavender not to use the type of lavender called Lavendula Augustifolia is toxic to pregnant and breastfeeding mums, Children under 6yrs and the elderly as there bodies cant circulate the strong oils out of there bodies through their kidneys. And grapefruit oil or blends containing grapefruit shouldn't be used for people on Antidepressants as it interacts with the serotonin levels in the brain .

      I'm a Clinical Aromatherapist and lavandula angusitfolia is NOT toxic to pregnant women or children!! It's one of the most gentle essential oils you an use and provided that you do a skin test before you use and all is well (sometimes there are people who have a mild skin reaction which can be soothed with white lotion) then all is well. I've been practising aromatherapy for over 15 years and have only ever found one person with a bad reaction to lavandula angustifolia and I regularly use it for pregnancy massages, labour massage, and infant massage classes with no issues whatsoever.

      Elizabeth Scattergood Aromatherapy Is it possibly the fake lavender that is the one causing the problems the original poster mentioned? The one you guys are referring to is natural lavender. My daughter had a bad reaction to a deodorant that she'd been using, previously with no problems, that turned out to be fake lavender. It was Toms & apparently they sold their company & the new owners began using subpar ingredients. I went to several website where literally hundreds of people complained of the same problems my daughter was having, primarily irritation, itching, redness, peeling, dark discoloration. Her armpits have never recovered & have remained sensitive since then & now almost anything she uses is problematic. She has to be very careful to avoid further irritation & is so self conscious about them .

    Hi guys! I keep getting comments about whether those deos would stain clothing - but for some reason, they are not displayed here in the comment section. So I just answer this way and hope ya'll can see it. Whenever I use any of those, I use only small amount and make sure the deodorant is absorbed by my skin before I put on clothes. I never had any problems with stains on my clothes. I actually had more stains with traditional deo sticks, to be honest. Just make sure not to use too much of the coconut oil deodorant - your skin will absorb it, but is still an oil and any access amount might leave your skin a bit oily. But that si something you would feel instantly, and you could just wipe the access amount away.

    I loved the recipes so much! The ingredients are pretty simple, unlike in most other diy deo videos. Hovewer, I wanted to point out that tape is not zero waste.

    • @SewingLara
      @SewingLara  6 років тому +6

      Thanks! That means a lot! Well, about the tape: you are right. You can always leave that out. Maybe hang a little cardboard tag on the cord wrapped around the bottle or jar - that would work too (hmmm, why did I not think about it earlier?). There is (sadly) no such thing as "complete" zero waste anyway because whatever we make, the ingredients have to be wrapped somehow and very often they come in boxes with tape on them, or plastic bags. It is a huge challenge. Some deal with it easy, I am not of them, to be honest 😅 But after all, zero waste does not mean "no waste" at all. It means reducing it to a reasonable minimum and doing our best to re-use or recycle things. The little piece of tape is still less than a big plastic bottle, so if you would use that tiny piece of it on your homemade deo bottles, I would not go crazy about it. I think the most important thing is to try to do our best, step by step. Thanks for watching! Sending much love 😘

      Hi Claire! I have no experience with the baby oil - I would recommend only natural oils, though. If you use just a small amount of the ACV, it should not smell like vinegar. You can always add more essential oils. If you are concerned about any skin reactions, spray a bit of the mixture on the inside of your arm where they bend in the elbows. • @SewingLara
      @SewingLara  6 років тому +3

      Hi, lovely! It depends. If you'd use distilled water, they would last for several weeks, maybe even months. Whenever you would use regular water - water is organic so the deodorant wouldn't last so long. But you could keep it in a fridge and I'd say at least 3-4 weeks. But to be honest, I don't know how long exactly, I am not an expert. It is best to make a small amount and use it up within a month and then make more, then it is pretty safe.

      the tea tree is anti bacterial which is why its used in most DIY deodorant recipes. (The bacteria is what causes the bad odor). You can do two things: use another anti-bacterial essential oils, like Tea Tree Oil, Grapefruit Essential Oil, Oregano Essential Oil, Cinnamon Essential Oil, Citronella, Eucalyptus Essential Oil, Thyme Essential Oil (I got these from google). Or you can just blend the tea tree essential oil with another essential oil that you like the smell of to mask the tea tree smell. Hope it helped.

      MondbergTV thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes. Which do you find most effective? I'd never seen the liquid ones and I want to make them right now. Patiently waiting for your answer. Thank you again.

    I have tried nearly every type of homemade deodorant and finally found one that works perfectly called Granny's Natural Deodorant.

    YOU MENTIONED EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE IMPORTANT THING THAT IS ABOUT REASON OF DEADORANT DOES IT STICK TO THE SKIN? DOES IT STAIN? HOW LONG STAY ON?

    • @SewingLara
      @SewingLara  6 років тому +1

      There is a pinned comment that already answers a few of your questions. Both deodorants last on me pretty long - depending on how active I am on that particular day. But that is something you would have to try for yourself. We all have different body chemistry and just because something works great on me, it doesn't mean that it will perform as well for others. That being said - for me, both these versions are as effective as any other deodorants form the store I had so far.

    we should be going to other pinned comment to find out, you missed the point!! the information should have come from you as you are demonstrating it .

      You missed the point of a DIY video. The purpose of a DIY video is to show how to make things. It was NOT a review and NOT a demo. The title "DIY Deodorants" might have made it clear. And since this is MY channel, I decide what to pin what I find most helpful to my viewers. Plus, the pin I pointed out is not from others, but from me, which you missed as well. I give you FREE tutorials and take the time to answer your questions in the comments, so stop complaining.
