the "i miss my...pause...I miss my wife". part is/was one of the most believable bit of acting I've ever seen from any actor in any movie of any kind. Ever.
I think this is one of my favourite scenes ever. And I have felt this moment that Jerry has. It takes over like nothing else matters in the world and you suddenly know what you want and what you want to do. Thank God she was so susceptible because I was turned away.
I love the look Zellweger is giving Cruise throughout the scene. It's as if he has changed or like she is seeing him, listening to him and trying to understand the words. It's as if she sees him as a new man, changed and she is trying to perceive who he is. Great acting, great directing, great writing.
I think certain things become popular specifically because they are *justified* to remain in the zeitgeist that governs our memories. Jerry Maguire, this scene alone has lived in my mind for so long, I still find myself quoting Mr. Cruise frequently :]
Ahhhh yes the days when you could just relax and enjoy a movie without all the woke bullshit being shoved down your throat, i just wish these days could come back.
As a 30 year old who grew up watching other Cruise flicks, and Hanks flicks, I remember seeing the Cuba and Cruise scene as a kid but then changed the channel, dude this is one of the most vanilla ass confessions I've ever seen in cinematography, yet with modern society you couldn't imitate this flick or make a Swede or reproduction of it, but dude, this confession absolutely sucks. Jesse McCartney did better on Keith and he wasn't even trying
One of the masculine films in the last 20 years, at least from a narrative perspective. A film that sold out for women and box office revenue. A chick flick at its best. A really bad movie at its best.

He kind of choked up there too. The emotions are obviously real. Probably drew from a real life experience.
Heyphilphil, i fully agree. That pause and then the whole line was such a balance of authentic and sincere acting.
Ok
He should have won the academy award award for this movie. Hands Down
They still found a way to get Tom Cruise to run.
It ain’t a Tom Cruise movie without home running
😂
For fuck sake. One movie. ONE MOVIE without him running is all I ask.
Jk. Love this movie and TC.
@@naughtyskywalker9292 Hmm... He'll probably compromise for a brisk jog if you ask nicely.
Classic
When I was young I used to laugh at this part. Now as a mature adult, I completely understand the seriousness.

Such a great scene. Its Incredible. Simple as that.
The simple piece of piano as he’s running which then fades into the women scene is genius!
The scene doesn't work without it.

@@GeologicFMIdk
What he's saying is that he's not a complete person. The only person to accept that is another incomplete person...or a...PREDITOR.
