First of all…loved your SEMA video(subbed!)especially the SDI suspension portion. Your mods are above my pay grade(I spent 12-15k on my FK8) but hey it’s your ride, nobody else’s so you gotta do what makes you happy Brother!😁👍 I’m planning on getting an FL5(FK8 was rear ended/totaled) and modding little by little over time. Yes,there are better performing cars for the money especially after adding mods(💰💰💰) but I usually keep my cars for 15-20 years and my Hondas have never left me stranded on the side of the road or had me frequently visiting a repair shop for warranty work etc.
Thank you I hope you and everyone involved are ok from the accident, cars are replaceable. The FL5 would be a great replacement for the FK8. It was worth every dollar spent. Thanks again for subbing to my channel.
@ Thanks. Thankfully just had my bell rung a little,no serious injuries. The 18 inch Honda donut that I got from the dealer on day one actually helped to absorb the impact from the texting/daydreaming delivery van driver…impact actually sheered the bolt holding it in place. The back of my CTR still unfortunately ended up looking like the letter V from the van’s bumper but you’re right…it’s just a car and yes…replaceable. I’m just looking for a dealership that isn’t out of their minds with add ons I don’t want/market pricing B.S. I was lucky with my first 2 FK8s…the 3rd shouldn’t be any different…with a little patience.😁👍 You’re the first to have asked about injuries to myself or my family as many times as I’ve mentioned my experience in various comments…that speaks volumes about your character!👍👊
Have had my FL5 for 6 months, obviously not ready to spend 40k but certainly looking to see what might improve performance. Liked the rims and intake upgrades!
top notch quality parts arent cheap. I will be going with Eventuri too. PLus you can do so much more. Just like you said some spent 80 plus grand. Nice build so far
Like your build for my FL5 I find it looks great the way it is. But your looks chef’s kiss! Ill be buying for mine the OEM forge wheels and the spoiler but debating because mine is boost blue.
Some of those mods are beautiful. I'm hoping a few parents were able to send their kids to Swiss finishing schools based on some of the parts pricing. 🤯
Good Morning! Just a couple of quick questions for you regarding possible future mods for your CTR…are you considering the SDI shock mod?(It’d be nice to hear your opinion/review especially since it’s compatible with suspension upgrades which you’ve done) Secondly, and this is coming out of left field and may not be an issue for you but is a reserve fuel system in your future? I myself as well as Flyin Gato have commented on the CTR’s fuel tank capacity(12 gal) and its approx 320 mile range. I remember seeing I think 27 gallon(could be wrong)tanks on racing CTRs which is extreme but I always wondered if a donut shaped safety fuel cell could be designed to drop in where the normally empty spare tire location is? There would have to be a protective aluminum cover installed over the trunk floor to minimize fuel being sprayed into the interior…like what the aftermarket offered for early 60’s Mustangs where the trunk floor was also the top of the gas tank. Just spit balling here but I thought a Y intersection spliced into the normal fuel filler line could allow normal fill ups until the fuel reached the Y…then fuel could spill over into the reserve Donut shaped fuel reserve. Just an idea is all(probably not feasible due to stock design/safety reasons)but another alternative idea would be to replace the stock fuel tank with a larger custom fuel cell but to shorten the factory exhaust system if clearance/room was an issue. I owned a 1970 Shelby GT350 convertible that I did something similar because the fuel filler was located behind the rear license plate/directly over the center mounted exhaust and fuel would sometimes spill over during fill ups/sizzle on the hot exhaust. I left the stock exhaust intact(factory look)but just had a custom 3 inch exhaust stop at the rear axle. Just my 2 cents…might reduce weight if exhaust shortened/possibly bring the CTR closer to 50/50 weight distribution with additional weight of donut fuel cell or new entire exterior tank. If anything…it might be interesting if any of your sponsors would be interested in developing a system that might be an option for those interested…even if only for racing applications. Once last thing(sorry!)…are you considering going the Honda Pro’s route and going full carbon fiber? I understand that just adding more HP counters the weight loss/expense of carbon upgrades but it’s always fun to speculate the benefits of physics due to weight loss on braking, acceleration and handling. Ok…I’m done trying to spend YOUR money now…😂💰💰💰
With this build I don't have any plans on doing an alternate fuel cell. The oem fuel capacity is more than enough for me. It's just a lot of custom fabrication and we just don't have access to the right people that can do it where I live. I am doing more carbon but not a full carbon CTR. We will leave that for HPJ haha 😄
@@phothrottle Fair enough! I figured HPJ is definitely already traveling down that road and I totally get that your fuel situation is more than likely adequate for the mods that you have currently/basically sans any crazy FBO performance mods((500+HP etc. fuel sucking…unless I missed something?) Just thought I’d throw some ideas your way. You never know with certain You Tubers crushing Lamborghinis for a couple of extra views what kind of deep pockets they or you might have. Seems like you’re leaning more towards the sensible side of You Tube extravagance…which is a good thing!😁👍
thoughts on eventuri vs blitz? waiting for acuity intake to influence my decisions haha trying to keep my mods light but still its so tempting to go all out
@ShaiyanHossain they didn't give any eta on release dates. By the looks of the pictures a lot of the oem intakes components are deleted making the engine very clean looking. 👌
For some reason these wheels look good on the Civic type R than the other guy on UA-cam and he has same wheels on his integra type S, five spoke wheels don’t look good on type S
Yeah everything is so expensive now. You have to sacrifice an arm and a leg or even the left nut. That's only if you're able to get it from the wife hahaha
For no reason too. This is a 2.0T FWD car. Its not like its anything different than other cars in that regard. Prices are Porsche level pricing for this car, which is just insane. And for what reason? Solely because its a CTR. Its the name. A MK6 GTI is also 2.0T FWD, but costs 1/3-1/4 less than the parts for this very similar 2.0T FWD CTR. And the MK6 GTI isn't that much slower either. Its ridiculous.
@JacesOwnWorld I agree on the pricing being ridiculous as part of the Type R tax. That said the FL5 is a massive upgrade over a MK6 GTI and even my extensively modified MK7 GTI, having owned both.
Nah probably not because there is no good tracks around where I live. Just gonna do illegal street take overs and Fast and Furious street racing. Hopefully I can win so I can pay for all the over night parts from Japan.
Wow. You definitely aren't a bargain shopper. Aftermarket companies LOVE customers like you. You keep them in business... He is sitting on a $100k CTR that is just a simple 2.0T FWD platform. Tell me once again how this car is not worth it...
Jaces how come you are so bitter bro? This is a question and not being offensive. Seems like you have had a bad experience in the past. This is how people felt when the R34 GT-R became more and more popular and now the prices have sky rocketed. It's well over 200k usd now. To some it's worth every penny and to some it's not. Everyone has their own opinions and I think the CTR is worth every penny.

Amazing Build. Love watching your videos. Keep up the good work.

Wowwwie, your parts list is crazy! Thanks for sharing. Love the build.
Thanks! I still waiting for more parts to arrive. Many of them have been ordered a year ago.
Looks great. Loving following the channel.
👍 thanks!
Im so jealous, i just got my fl5 & plan on getting a tint & mugen door visors soon.
No jealous but inspired. I hope my build helps you with yours. Congratulations on your new FL5.

Going into this build I thought it would be inexpensive compared to the GT-R but it doesn't look like that anymore.
Such a quality build!
Thanks bro!

OEM Forged wheels will look great with Boosted Blue.
I like the oem forge wheels only wish is they made them more aggressive so you don't have to run spacers.
Amazing. Love your build. I'm doing something similar and the cost is mounting 😂
The cost adds up real quick and you don't even realize it.
Some of those mods are beautiful. I'm hoping a few parents were able to send their kids to Swiss finishing schools based on some of the parts pricing. 🤯
Lol I'm sure they where able to send at least two.

Acuity is releasing an intake. They have share with me some pics of it being delivered.
@phothrottle are you allowed to tell us when we can expect it to be released?
@ShaiyanHossain they didn't give any eta on release dates. By the looks of the pictures a lot of the oem intakes components are deleted making the engine very clean looking. 👌
LOVE those wheels. I miss my old set of Advans.
They will be available soon I you're interested.

@isa_4funner I have a new set arriving soon. A new look for next season.
Antigravity battery can’t handle winters?
I took it out because the car is parked for the winter.
Antigravity has been fine in winter. Garaged and I'm not in Siberia, but... (40Ah)
He put in mods what I own to the bank 🏦 for my type R …..I broke 🤣😂

How much if you keep it stock?
Life is too short to drive cars stock.
You just pick the most expensive items for each item. I wish I had the resources for that
I got lucky and made the right connections and is fortunate enough to partner with the right people/ companies.
