Great video Ray! You made it look easy regardless of having rifle malfunctions almost every stage. And thank you everyone for the kind words! Ray has literally taught me everything.
Just stumbled across your page…..Great video ! I shot that match and set it up w Mike & Chad. I don’t have DMR rifle ….yet as there were no DMR matches where I used to live. Just moved up here so now all the local boys are gettin me straight w rimfire precision and DMR….shot my first rimfire match borrowing Willis’ CZ457 last weekend at Sawmill. Lost all my points at this match on that dang Isuzu stage…. Couldn’t get a solid position in there w my 14.5” 3G rig …. 1-6 and holdovers all day made it a little tough ….hahahaha nice shooting to ya both. Hope to see ya at a local soon. Erich
Hey Erich, I have seen your name at many of the matches here in the southeast! We are in a great area for competitions for sure! I like what Chad, Mike and Mike are bringing to the area with regards to all of the matches and different disciplines. Be careful with the rimfire stuff! It can be very addicting. See you at the next one ! 👍🏼
Damn impressive that you took first, notwithstanding your feeding issues!!! YOU are always our MAN, Ray. Give a hearty congratulations to Matt P as well!! You guys rocked it!
Congratulations! Love seeing these kind of competitions. Your channel great way of representing our community by promoting the sport of shooting. I have no concerns about recommending your channel to anyone who wants to learn about the sport.
Great content, as always! Have you ever tried the 1 mile range there? That's on my bucket list for sure! **bonus points for hitting the orange sign....😉
Glad to see the 6ARC is still doing well. Have a barrel on order from DPGunworks. It will replace my Valkyrie (🙄) and my 6 creedmoor that I just couldn't get to feed well. Thanks for sharing and congrats to you both. Peace&Grace.
Thanks Orion. Matt and I have been shooting a LONG time together. He is a lot younger and has a baby on the way. He doesn’t get to shoot as much as he would like.
@@XRING ; Most of us go through that period in life . Congrats on the little one on the way Matt ! The difference when I took time out for baby time the world wasn't missing a good shooter ! HAHAHA !! Sad but true .
Ray, cool intro and outro. Looks like a good time, as a new shooters that would’ve been just right for my son and me. Will they be having more there, or in the area?
Thanks Six Rutters. Just trying to slice it up a little till the final intro is done. They plan on doing the DMR every few months so we will see it again there for sure.
Bring that Matt kid to a CD match! Would love to shoot against him. Tried to do the Burris match with him as my partner last year but suckered Ricky into it instead. Ha
Nicely done fellas You running steel duramags for the ARC? Fixed GB? Were those FTEs or FTFs? Hand loads or factory? Badly want to get a 6arc put together, but I think ill let you do some more beta testing for me first 😁 Was time actually not figured in, or were the rifle shots just too easy for the top shooters for it to matter? Time should always be a factor in DMR matches imo, thats a big part of the point of the rifle choice. But then again its also nice to actually have something resembling a chance against you savages. Was there an optic limiter for tactical, or just ballistic? Razor treat you well Matt? Need to get a teeny tiny Prius with some Coexist and Bernie bumper stickers on it for these events, just confuse the shit out of everyone when you clean house. But you guys are gonna have to kiss a little at the end of the match to really sell it 😘
LOL! Hey Manitou. This 6arc is an amazing rifle but I am still playing around with Buffer spring pressure, Gas block and barrel vent size. I knew it wasn’t ready but didn’t want to mess with anything until after the match. I was using brand new steel Duramags. I had just put a green silent capture spring in the buffer and it is too heavy for this action.
November 6, 2021 was my first day back firearms competition. USPSA steel challenge pccO with my B&T APC9Pro SBR. I was happy with my results and of course room for extreme improvement X😍X💕 🇨🇭🔫🇨🇭🔫
What mags are you running Ray? I've always had to modify ASC/C-products and even occasionally E-lander feed lips to prevent low presentation and scratching, even after ramp and extension polishing... (although usually the e-landers have more body to follower fitment/spring binding issues with better factory lip geometry and finished edges)... I have hope for the possible future of double to single stack polymer mags, but 10rds is currently not worth bothering with... I still think magazines are the weakest link of the 6mm arc/6.5 grendel platform 🤷♂️ Hopefully 6mm arc boosts the popularity enough to improve the current magazine options, especially for 20-25 rounders 🤞 Really wish something similar to lwrci's proprietary lower with magpul made 6.8spc specific magazines would be done for the 6mm/6.5... but I seriously doubt a solution that perfect will ever be available lol 😄👍
Hey Berry, I am running the Duramags now. It’s definitely not a mag issue at this point. I have tried all of the manufacturers. On this particular rifle we are messing around with the gas system and buffer spring rates. I knew this going into the match but we are slowly making improvements. During slow speed video what I am seeing is that the empty case is hitting the shell deflector and going back into the action. It also depends on how hard I am shouldering the rifle during firing. Almost have it resolved.
Ray I'm surprised that you wasn't using the VP9L match and the Aimpoint acro p2. Don't get me wrong on the optic now, I still think the SRO is decent but with the size and ruggedness of the Acro p2 its really hard to go back
Hey Walter. I have a friend that needed to borrow my 34 with the Acro for a night match. Just used the same VP9 long slide with the SRO since it was the same pistol I used for the Snipers Unknown. In the end, they all shoot about the same.
I check Practiscore every few months for stuff at Clinton House because I'm fairly close. And yet I somehow never see match announcements until it's too late. Is there somewhere else that they post this stuff further in advance?
Hey Snakeman. The one Matt is using has a 20” Proof. The one I am using has a 22” Douglas 6arc barrel that Kenny made that we are doing some experimenting with.
Hello Jordan. Please check your gas port size first. I had a barrel that had a pilot hole but had not been completed. If it is correct then start with an open gas block first. It should work.
There were 4 Divisions. Tactical was .223/.308 and Open was anything else. 1. Tactical Gas 2. Open Gas 3. Tactical Bolt 4. Open bolt There were competitors in every division. I chose to use the prototype 6arc which we are trying to get the gas/mag combo resolved. I knew this going into this match.
Hey Ed, caused by me and this custom barrel. We are working on the gas port hole diameter and by adding the suppressor we are getting excessive back pressure. Still in a “prototype” stage.

Maybe the camera perspective, but your 6mm ARC mag looks extra “curvy”. Is the mag body standard 30 rd stanag or something different?
It is super curvy. 6.5 Grendel magazines
