That was a treat! Holy Spirit, crowd out the anxiety in me. I want you. I don’t want it.

Being curious reminds me of taking a thought captive and “interrogating” that thought in light of God’s Word and “Christlikeness”

I think Jesus used curiosity as a tool, like the questions a spiritual director asks..to help the listeners be self reflective and open their minds. Thank you, Steve and John.

    Thank you.
The idea anxiety blocks my ability to see God and what’s really happening is very helpful.

I recorded this few months back as other segments on FOTWH. Woke up 2:30 am ,,,,troubled a bit. Remembered the 5 idols Steve spoke on
    Acceptance... poped up.
Remembered he said if someone said they we r disappointed in him,,,, got him stered up,, aniexious....
Had a customer express in so many words her disappointment.....carried that all day and into the night
Cast that one on to the Lord
Got releaf... went back at 5:30 am to listen to John and Steve,s 5 idols I recorded.
This was and is a great help.
In the movie "The Shack" papa tells Mac,,,, when all u can see is your pain,,,,, you lose sight of me.
    Thx you guys
    Fritz

Yes. I’ve run so fast and so far I’ve finally run into myself. Teacher of highly traumatized kids, father has Dementia, going through a breakup/down. I check all the needs categories. Thank you for this. 💖

I got 4 out of 5. Do I get a prize? “Jesus died to free me from…” What a “perfect” way to begin the day. Thanks to you 2.

Anxiety is a form of legalism. That will keep me thinking for the next couple of days.

So rich! And real tools and insights on how to let more of God’s presence impact more of my day, and at crucial moments that I otherwise don’t handle well. This was so, so good. Thank you!

    Whoo Hoo! 🙌🏻
So grateful when it (the cause) gets named-chronic anxiety.
what to look for -identify its characters and the use of “curiosity weapon” to overcome/resolve…less of me and more of God. 🙏🏻💕🍃

Thanks for your conversation with Steve Cuss. I do hope you can bring him back to talk more about chronic anxiety. How do you hold your thoughts captive? What does this mean in practical terms and how do you it throughout the day?

Thank you for sharing these practices and ideas! I work retail, and while it’s certainly not an ER, this practice will help me focus on working with Jesus. ❤️

This is so incredibly helpful. I finally started experiencing these realities as I could not help my students in trauma during Covid and beyond (continuing now) the ways I anxiously thought I needed to because of the population I work with that experiences so much trauma. Your trauma chaplain story was very helpful. The explanation that these idols are all attributes of God that we anxiously strive to fill is something I will be pondering for a long time. Thank you both!

Edit for typos: What did John say about Dallas? Freedom from what?
