I was given my choice of whatever acoustic guitar in a large music store and I played as many high end guitars as I could that where what I think are nice and in the same price range and and I left with this guitar…I’ve never heard anything like it…sweet amazing sound
I live in Massachusetts… I recently bought the 414ce custom (with sunburst/etc). I was in love with it, until I dropped in a different store and they had the 414ce LTD with sinker redwood top. I sat down and the difference was absolutely apparent the moment I started playing it. It maintained all of the “sparkly” brightness of the high ends (one of the reasons I bought the 414ce custom - I started learning fingerpicking and wanted a guitar that sparkled). The only downside is the bass on the custom is obviously more subtle and the sound profile definitely doesn’t favor the mids. When plugged in, I use an eq peddle to subtly enhance the low end and to bring the mids up a bit. So anyways, I sat down with the LTD (I’m a fan of rich dark woods on everything, it caught my attention) - and I noticed immediately that the low end was fuller and more pronounced, balancing the overall sound beautifully and lending itself to more versatility in playing styles and songs. Also, as you mentioned, the mids really fit nicely into the sound profile compared to the custom. I’ve gone twice now to play the LTD redwood. I have about 15 or so days left to return the custom under satisfaction guarantee. I’m going back today to play the redwood again (if it’s still there, they only had one!), and if I’m still hearing the same things and feeling the same way when I play - then my custom is def getting exchanged for the redwood!

I love the sound. Sort of reminds me of my Mahogany Top guitar in some respects.
These are really excellent. It definitely has some Mahogany characteristics! Please let me know if I can help in any way! Thanks!

Are the back and sides solid on this guitar? It sounds amazing
That's a beautiful sound for sure....
You can kinda hear the ‘minerality’ in the timber.. it sorta sounds like no other acoustic to me..
Wonderful guitar
