As someone who hates the summer, I spend the bulk of it watching Fall/Halloween/Christmas videos. This year I am not just watching videos and trends, I am spending the summer creating new designs for the upcoming season. My goal is get up at least 50 designs in July for Q4.
Great list! Fantasy/dark romance/horror book covers are a really good way of spotting potential trends for Halloween season. It’s almost like subliminal messaging to that customer base.

I’m very new and do my own art and EVERY single other UA-camr brings up the holidays they are taking about designing for only a half a month prior or even the month of which doesn’t give me very much time to draw it up, gain momentum with traffic and to ship in time for pod

and yea grunge/alt style has been revamped since bleh egirls and eboys but I'll stick to my early 90's uk grunge style mixed with streetwear from Asia that I adore cause it's so sleek and simple

I'm thrilled about the snakes, being a snake keeper and breeder myself. A majority of my stuff I sell at reptile expos but I've recently thought about restocking my store with stuff. I do a lot of machine embroidery mainly, some sewing and other odds and ends.

My shop is only a couple of months old, selling hand made wood crafts. I first posted some bottle openers, plant stands and balancing wine bottle holders and they didn't do well (still aren't). I have since added some squirrel and bird feeders and those are selling, one squirrel feeder especially. Last year I made some cedar jack o lanterns and they sold well locally. Since my cedar critter feeders are selling on Etsy, I have started on my line of jack o lanterns. I'm hoping the popularity and combination of items in my shop will be a winner, even moderately so. A decision I'm struggling with is how to list. I'm planning on 10-12 different face designs for one jack o lantern design and I wasn't sure if I should make 10-12 listings or one listing with 10-12 variations. If I do the latter, I'd need to mark my pictures with numbers (or some sort of identifier) to match with the variations list. I've heard your advice on the one listing vs multiple listings, when it comes to variations, I just didn't know what the threshold was for going overboard with multiple listings.
That's totally up to you! If you make each as it's own listing, your shop will DEFINITELY appear to be mostly jack-o-lanterns for anyone who visits your storefront. At the same time, you'll have more listings floating around in search, which can lead to more opportunities to be discovered. There's no right or wrong answer. 💛
I’ve sold a few Halloween coffee mugs already and last year in July I made almost 9,000 on one Halloween shirt that became a bestseller. It unfortunately isn’t looking like a BS this year but yeah, summer is when I get the most Halloween sales
Huh. I'm "on trend" and I didn't even realize it. I do think maybe I subconsciously pick up on stuff. I make "spooky" jewelry and accessories year round and I've been moving toward snakes, skulls (some with crowns!), roses and gargoyles in the past month. Also I'm wanting to do more Victorian gothicky things like a Dracula/Poe hybrid with tapestry, lace and lots of buttons. Also with the stained glass -- I've been replicating it in jewelry with resin. I also have been doing embroidered cardigans. So funny! Everyone around me in the same genre is selling lots of mushrooms and cute ghosties and I feel like it's just over saturated. What about spooky pinup or vintage Halloween? Because those are my personal loves and I can't seem to make enough.
Definitely will be adding more Halloween products but I don't know how I can work these trends into what I make unless I find cool fabric with those themes.
I still have a bunch of Halloween leftover from last year, but I have started on new things and have been updating the old! Definitely going to add more gothic rose type stuff. Also it’s funny you mentioned snakes because I was already working on crocheting one when I decided to take a break and watch the video.😂

You cannot copy the characters in any way. You can take the animal types and make a different version of it, but it cannot resemble the BT21 characters.
