Castillo Beach Bungalows, in Caleta de Fuste, is a resort complex that divides opinion. There are those holiday makers that are disappointed with their stay whilst others rave about it's value for money.
With stories about cockroaches, damp, and burglaries, we were a little worried - so how did we find our stay? Watch and find out.

Re the premieres, It seems as though the views aren't immediately recorded, you can see the correct views in the dashboard but it seems to take a day to catch up. Thanks Watto. We liked the place, we've stayed in better hotels in Caleta de Fuste and worse ones. Overall it's not bad for the money.
For the money, it doesn't look bad. We normally just want a clean place to sleep and get ready and spend our time out and about. this sounds like a really good deal! Thanks for showing us around!
Thanks again for watching folks. If they refurbish the bungalows it would be a really great place to stay but they have around 500 to refit so I guess it would take them a while - and Fuerteventura is still popular during the winter.

We enjoyed the tour Andy. Looks like a nice place to stay. I don't mind a little wear if the price is right. It would be a problem though without good wifi. We're on the road about 7 months a year and it's hard to do the YT thing without it! Pool looked wonderful! Thanks for bringing us along.
Yes the lack of Wifi did cause issues to my youtube and video editing schedule. I suppose most folk aren't youtubers so it's less of an issue. Thanks for watching Dave and Kathy, much appreciated.
I don't really mind older and tired just so long as things are clean. Do enjoy a nice pool area too...and a nice walking beach is a bonus also. Do like to stretch my dollar, so having a kitchenette is nice to at least prepare breakfast! But it really is all about the sun and warmth!! Which I am sure you enjoyed! Bruce and Otis
Thanks for watching Bruce. We found it to be OK for the money and a cheap getaway. We tended to eat breakfast in the bungalow although we did eat out twice.

Thanks Cara, it was a nice resort, the room was a little tired but nothing you couldn't live with for a week. Best bit was all the cats!
Nestors is only ever open in the evening and booking is recommended
We did go on an evening. The food was excellent 👌.
My god! I thought they must have pulled that place down by now....I was there when it was 1st built, about 29yrs ago. Back then 1 pool, as supermarket, bar and restaurant. The place was mainly waste land and the beach! I'd forgotten what it was called...thanks for taking me back👍
There you I'm pleased to have jogged your memory or given you flashbacks 😀. There are four complexes, each have their own pool and bars. Certainly, more has grown up around it as there isn't any break between the commercial centre in town and the beach bungalows, and there are more villas further up the hill. Thanks for watching 🙂.
Hey Andy 😊 nice review, looks to me a good place to stay really for the price. Shame it isn’t as well kept the area. But looks close to lots of places to eat. The pool looked good, seemed so quiet there as wells lovely sky you got too.
Thanks for watching Yasmin. Yeah, the sky was beautiful that morning. It was a shame that most weren't up to see it. I guess because most apartments are self-catering, people just do what they like, or perhaps it was because the pool bar didn't open until 10.30! Overall, it wasn't a bad place for the money.

Thanks for watching. We weren't expecting The Ritz and I think if you manage your expectations and put it into context with the price it is a good value for money stay.
We have been to caleta around five or six times. This area is known as 'up the hill' but its only a ten or fifteen minute walk away from the main central area. Nestors is actually one of the best places to eat in the area as well so no need to go hiking for food. Caleta de Fuste resort is the best kept secret going, very friendly and if you are travelling solo you will be made to feel welcome.
This was my fourth visit to Caleta De Fuste and we've stayed at a few different places over the years. I really like the resort and prefer it to Corralejo as I think it's a bit more laid back. This was our first time 'up the hill' and it wasn't too far to the El Castillo commercial centre. We found you could get a taxi from opposite Fado Rock to our complex for around 3.5 Euros - handy if you have bags of shopping. We did visit Nestors later in the week for an evening meal and the steak and Argentinian sausage was superb.

Enjoyed the resort tour Andrew, looks a nice place although some of it like you say has wear & tear issues, looks very similar to Porta Blanco in Lanzorote, looks very hilly which for me with my current knee problems is a no no, cheers m8 👍
Thanks for watching Andy. Yes, there was a good bit of walking to get to the shops and the beach and an uphill climb to get back. We did use a taxi from the town centre to the apartment which wasn't too expensive and kept the Mrs happy.

It's definitely good for the price - you can't complain especially if you didn't mind self catering,, you could have a family holiday for very little.

Just home from Caleta de fuste fuerteventura, stayed in bungalow casstillo beach. My eight time staying there. Bungalows a bit dated cheap and very comfy. Nice and private. Liam kilkee clare ireland 🍀 🇮🇪

It looks about the same standard as most s/c accomodation in Corfu and we've been there 6 times. A week away, 2 people for 600 quid looks a good deal to me. Certainly a bit warmer and more comfortable than camping at the Lakes! Good'n Andrew.
Thanks for watching Keith. Certainly for the money it isn't bad value, flights were over £300 of that cost, I think the accommodation came in at £220 for the week. If you could get some cheap flights it could be a really, really cheap holiday. And yes, definitely warmer than camping in the lakes!

How bad is the walk from Coleta Dorada to the beach? And is it much of a walk to Chaplins?
JonnyFive, Chaplins is quite close by but it up hill to Chaplin's from Hotel Caleta Dorada (down hill from Castillo Beach. ) I did do a video where I walked from Castillo Beach to the beach (Playa del Castillo) - on that video, we pass Hotel Caleta Dorada on our way to the sea front.

Noel, I have not stayed there. However, when we walked past they did look newer than Castillo Beach and they are closer to the town centre.
How does all-inclusive work there
Wayne, we went self-catering. From what I have seen on various Facebook groups, the food is pretty poor quality. Some folks said it was still worth it for the free drinks, but as I'm not a big drinker, we wouldn't have got value for money.

Stayed in November 2023 worst place ever dirty staff very rude couldn't wait to get home ten days later. This place should be shut down . We went self catering no bread knife or veggie knife no cleaner for the time we stayed and only two towels we went out and bought extra stuff. Disinfectant so
I could clean the place . Saw the cleaner walking around with a can of air freshener. So don't think they clean. Just spray air freshener. And after all that we came home with COVID . Avoid at all cost😢😢😢😢😢
I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience. We went for the week and found it OK. We did have to buy washing up liquid and soap, etc, but it was self-catering and not a serviced apartment.
Fresh towels are available on request.
Like you, we found you take pot luck as to what you find in the cutlery drawer. The place does need to do an inventory of what is missing in each apartment - clearly, previous residents have lost, broken, thrown out some of the utensils, and not reported it to reception.
Self catering means sorting own food not cleaning and maintaining the premises,this is the first time ever we have had to clean our own apartment,in going to the canary's for over thirty years,most places give you a welcome pack witch tells you when cleaners come with towels and bed linen replaced with clean .
Couldn't agree more ..Bungalow really dirty..no it was uninhabitable..Blood on the pillows stained mattress...grounds covered with rubbish and cigarette buts everywhere pushed into the very walls around the pool...never again xx
@cjcrawford7443 seems that we got an OK one. Sorry to hear yours was terrible. It seems to be very hit and miss.
Would you go back again?
Not 100%, but if we got a cheap deal, maybe. We found the beds a little uncomfortable, the rest of the issues we could get over but we do like a good night's sleep. Thanks for watching.
