Testing a CRAZY new powerful Tiller
Вставка
- Опубліковано 23 лис 2021
- Unreal Power. This is the FIRST test of a NEW tow behind tiller by DR Power called The Roto hog.
here is more info on the unit from there website: www.drpower.com/power-equipme...
I would have liked to have seen A) how do you raise/lower it tines into the soil and B) how well it does at deep tilling. Control "interface" with the operator and the unit throttle, starting, clutch engagement, etc. I already know i would prefer it to be "reverse-tine" rotation for a few reasons. But good potential for certain! Thanks again Sir, Great video!
Sounds like a little more details. I can do that for ya.
Please don't waste any of your time on me. I'm just some schmuck out here trying to make intelligent comments to help your algorithm and give you well deserved "likes". If other more important people like my comment, then by all means. Do it for them.
This reminded me of an early prototype.
Show us more on different types of ground. Also how everything operates.
Thanks
Bob
Can't power compost with reverse tine tillers.
Where was your summation? Video is only part of the equation.
The more DR equipment I see being used the more impressed I am.
This thing had insane power.
@@Dirtmonkey your thoughts 2 yrs later ??
I like your reviews, honest. And put it to an honest test. When you did that brutal test on that big Hustler, that made me consider them for my next mower for my land.
Hustler are good machines. I feel comfortable recommending them.
I started my business a year ago with a $30, 1988 Dr brush mower. Still runs and cuts like a charm!!!!!
very cool!
That's why I like watching your videos when you test things because you because you put them through their paces and you don't tell no bullshit stories you tell it how it is
Haha you got it 👊 Appreciate your support
That was dangerous Stan. You were down on your knees Throttle wide open. Tongue on a tippy block.
Had it tipped over it would have run you over before you could’ve blinked!!
Yeah- God gives us Pollocks extra vigilante angels.😉😃👍
That scared me too!
In the words of Harry on home alone, “Santy doesn’t visit the funeral home Sonny” !!🤣
I was going to make a comment about that, but I figured someone probably already did. Like Stan said though, us Pollocks always have extra vigilante angels. I know I do, I have more lives than a cat 🤣🤣
This looks like the most fun and best tilling experience I've seen so far.
Another great vid. That looks like an awesome machine... Thanks for everything!
Thanks for tuning in.
Stan were you born without an Ego or is that something you removed on your own? Kindness is such a massive strength, keep up the hard work!
I removed my ego and keep working at trying to do that. Its tough to make sure these videos are about you guys and not me.
It's good that you give an honest oppion, I hate companies that pay for or sort out reviews to make them look good.....
agreed. Thats why I also disclose all that.
Dan the man love the sideways / water wash edit lol. Stan ur the best at making Dan work so hard for the video editing. Keeping it funny and real. Just keep living the dream good sir.
Thank you and thanks for going along with the ride today.
My Polish bro. My middle name is Stanley. Heck yea I like to see you review stuff first time. Your channel has gotten really good. Experience is showing. Keep um coming. Happy Thanks Giving to you and yours. Also To other followers as well!!
Thank you sir. Happy and safe thanksgiving to you and your family.
Been wanting to see one of these units in action thanks.
I love the review vids because you don't just take them and lightly test them. No you put them pretty dog gone hard in doing thing most of us would never attempt (your mower videos in the tall saw grass come to mind) plus your opinions are true and honest and not biased because your being payed to do the review. Keep it up Stan!!!!!
Thank you sir!
Hope you have a great holiday Stan! Be safe! See you friday! That tiller is impressive!
Happy holidays! Hope you have an awesome Thanksgiving!
I bought one of these about 2 yrs ago to prepare for 17k sq ft of new lawn, its an awesome piece of equipment 🤘
I'm looking at the DR trail mower and DR trimmer mower for spring 2022. Got to open up 60 acres of property and manage the fence lines for electric fencing. DR has been on my radar for quite some time. Thanks for the video!
Hope this helps
Want to see him get his hands on the tow behind trimmer for fence lines.
DR heavy duty trimmer is unstoppable! You won't be disappointed AT ALL. GB/GG
That was some unique harmonies and phrasing there Stan. Like the jazz version of an 80's pop song.
😂 and a bad version at that.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and videos, always interesting and entertaining. Didn’t know what you were talking about with the angles 😂 I’m usually watching on my phone with some crazy angle anyway. Definitely a nicer tiller to use than the older standard front tiller I grew up on. Only thing slicker is a tractor mounted 6’ tiller. My uncle had one and used it in place of a mower on his fields, certainly slows the grass recovery between cuttings, and mulches the extra roughage from woody brush and small trees. Stay safe, wishing you and your family the best and a Happy Thanksgiving. 🍽🦃🍁
Thanks Tom and Happy and safe Holidays!
Stanley keeps it real. Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. 😎👍🇺🇲
Thank you & Happy and safe thanksgiving to you as well.
Love the special effects.
That’s all Dan the editing man. 👊👍
Happy Thanksgiving Stan. Thank you for making awesome videos and taking the time out of your day to create them.
Happy Holidays and thanks for watching!!
Cool machine, love watching.
Thanks for being with Today Andy!
I used one of the walk behind brush mowers and ended up in a funky spot where it was 20ft drop and to steep to turn around. I was able to put it in reverse and kind of lay on top of it to put weight on the tires and it carried me and itself right back up the slope. I was amazed.
That’s fricken awesome! 👍
So I’m watching and find myself leaning sideways in my chair…. Well played Stan!
😂Gotcha!
Always a thumbs up! Every video I watch! Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you sir 🙏. Happy and safe thanksgiving to you and your family
Nice look at the product. thank you...
You bet. have a safe and happy Holiday!
I guess every piece of a equipment will have a use to someone. Great video Stan keep safe and have a happy Thanksgiving.
Happy holidays!
I actually had that same machine, which came with seeder/cultipacter, break the hitch pin and tear off by itself across the field at at least 20mph.
I was alone, watching powerless to stop the demonic looking beast, praying it would not leave the property and kill someone. I'd just refilled the fuel tank so it could have been running for hours!
It was flying!
Initially, it went a couple hundred feet straight, then made two 200 foot circles, then went straight toward a fence line. Thank God it stalled out when it hit a tree.
Make sure to check the security of your hitch pins and the two bolts holding the tines on.
At one point before it escaped, I lost a tine bolt and tine came loose and wasn't engaged.
Stan you let me down. You did not sniff the tiller when you first cut the plastic open.🤪🤪
Hahaha. I promise to never let you down again.
Bro I have seen lightning with a hammer, but never with a wrench lol stan tha man with a lil bit of a plan!!!!!
No plan but I try to make it look like I have one 😆👊
I have a dr pro max 52t brush hog, 22 hp briggs , LOVE IT! it off sets , pull it with a quad.
Dogs are the best.
Happy bird day.
Right on!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! Hope you and your family has a beautiful day. God bless.
Happy Belated Thanksgiving to you as well!
I enjoy your videos . 👍
Good test, and that "pull behind" tiller will save a man's back. That said, I can't say I'm impressed with the DR unit. That exposed battery looks like an afterthought...during the first start, you can see it shaking around rather loosely on the mount. Also, it is right in the firing line for anything those tines kick out...as are the axles/spindles of the machine...lots of dirt getting into places that will cause wear and/or damage. Back to the drawing board, DR.
I think a well placed mud flap would protect this beast from itself.
Yes, it throws dirt all over on top and the fan on the pull start shroud that cools the engine sucks in dirt too. I had a clump of dirt the size of a walnut laying on top of the throttle linkage. If the wind is blowing from behind, you it gets ever worse. I made a huge improvement by attaching 1/8-inch shield extending down 8 1/2 inches that bolts to the 45-degree kick on the tine shroud. I also believe they have the ratio between the pullies that drive the tines to close. They need to speed the tines up and not the engine. They dropped the ball on this equipment.
Hey thanks for sharing appreciate it big thumbs up keep making more videos
Thanks for hanging out with us tonight and happy thanksgiving 👊👍
Happy Thanksgiving to you too bro
I will pull this behind my walk behind for sure come spring!!! O was also looking at pull behind 100” mowers
Those pull behind mowers can add up fast $$.
Enjoyable and great video.
much appreciated!
One of the neat features of this tiller is the rear wheels. The rear wheels kick back to lower the tines CONTROLLED from the operators seat ....and.....this translates into a very LEVEL finished till.
Several comments mentioned the location of the battery. I relocated the battery up to the floor of the operators platform on my garden tractor. Then I can use any spare 12 volt battery. available at the time...or....could also hook directly up to the garden tractor battery.
A general heads-up is 'not to make sharp turns' while the tines are in the ground. It puts a lot of side pressure on the long tine assembly.
Sounds like you have this bad boy dialed in.
I've had it for a couple garden seasons.(Michigan) Having the remote at the operators seat is great. Control of depth of the tines based on the ground condition and being able to raise the tines out of the ground at the end of the row and immediately turn around and drop the tines back down is a game changer.
You're all set up to do a part II video of the operational features now!
Happy thanksgiving to you and your family!
Same to you! Happy thanksgiving!
Liked the video thanks for creating it and your other content! Happy Thanksgiving Stan
Glad you enjoyed it! and Happy Holidays Scott!
Like someone below said, counter rotation would better. I agree. I had rented a tiller for our garden in St. Louis, that thing was so hard to control. I bought a Troybilt 7HP counter-rotating tiller to do the garden and that thing was day to the other tiller's night. I could easily control the Troybilt that had big tractor-style tires to pull itself along. I have had to actually hold the handlebars up to keep it from burying too deep in soft ground.
I think counter rotation and some shields for the battery would be 2 nice options.
You gave that equipment a nice workout. I liked Menards when we lived in Wisconsin. We don't have any where we in South Carolina. Sad
That would be hard to live without a menards close by.
I like the reviews and all ur great videos bro
Much appreciated sir!
Ratchet handle works nicer or impact backwards runs fine on the lag bolt. I think it was flexible on the pull along to bounce over small to medium rocks and stumps. Nice.
😉good eye.
Awesome video bro 👍
Thanks ✌the pic by your name. Thats new isn't it?
Keep up the good vids Stan
Thank you sir! Will do!
Love the videos
Thank you Ian and Happy Holidays! Turkey day tomorrow! Hope you enjoy.
That thing looks so violent good Lord looks like it will do the job though I need a bigger and heavier wheeler to tow it behind tho. Awesome video though as always
Much appreciated good sir.
nice machine great video
Thank you sir 🙏
i added some belting across the back to stop throwing material. i also run it behind ab zero turn mower, easier to keep the speed more constant with hydrostatic drive.
I bet that worked better than my old 4 wheeler.
One heck of a tiller. Food plot here I come.
Yep- perfect for that.
Great video as always. two things I don't like about it is the battery is exposed to rocks and flying debris and there should be a guard on the back to keep things from shooting out. I can see a smaller rock come shooting out and through a window or hit someone near by. Still a cool machine though. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Agreed. Those 2 things would make it better.
Got a Shoxx blade commercial, with you in it, before the video.
Cool. I like those dudes. I made that commercial for them.
I do not know if that could handle Canadian Clay!!! Happy Thanksgiving. God Bless.
I bet it could-but i didn't run it through any. Our soil is Heavy clay as well but this area that I tested it was more rocky and filled with debris.
Here’s a Happy Thanksgiving algorithm booster! But seriously Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Stan!
Same to you! happy Holidays and thanks for the support👊
Enjoy all your content happy happy Thanksgiving
Happy holidays! Have an awesome Turkey Day.👊😃
I could see this being useful for the food plots for the deer
me to!
I've worked with those R+L Carriers before and those guys are great! The will deliver just about anything, anywhere. Super helpful in my experience.
Yeah. And friendly people as well.
Awesome vid keep it up 👍
Thanks for the visit
Lmao what ya gonna do Dan the man…. And of course my name is Dan I just stared lol when he said that
😂👍
Stanley, next year I would thoroughly enjoy a review of a little wonder blower, specifically the high output versions. Just a thought if you could make it happen.
Good suggestion 👊👍. I’ll see what I can do.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too bro
Happy thanksgiving to you and your family.
Nice one Stan 👍👍🏴🏴
Thanks Tony!
I am happy you show us things and that your honest about the things you show us I thank you for that. Happy Thanksgiving to you an your family. Would a lawn tractor work better it will go much slower
Thank you sir and happy thanksgiving to you and your family
AFOS is always a nice treat!
What is AFOS?
@@Dirtmonkey A Flock Of Seagulls 👍👍🎶🎸
Hi to the Dirt Monkey Forces. Stanley the tiller did great. Happy Thanksgiving Stanley and Family
Happy thanksgiving to you and your family as well!!
Mate, this seems like it has the goods.
👍👍👍
Must be a manic Wednesday Happy Thanksgiving!!
Happy thanksgiving to you and your family 😃👊
No wait Stan. That would be called Manual recoil start Rope or Cord as some might say. lol
😂what the engineers call it- and what we call it.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving there Stan.
Thanks Steve. Same to you. Happy and safe thanksgiving to you.
That was neat Stan, sorry that I can't share as I had to rid myself from Mark Zuckerturd's evil grasp, anyways Stan and Family and friends, a Happy Thanksgiving Day from your Canadian followers, Cheers!
I hear ya on that one and Happy thanksgiving to you and safe holidays to your whole family
I just watched a ad of you/blade direct to watch a video of yours lol
Thats Rob from Blades direct- they are good people for sure.
@@Dirtmonkey they used one of your videos, unless Rob looks and sounds just like you it was you. Lol
Yeah I went to blades direct page it was that minute long video with you in your garage.
I made that for them I meant- They have supported me for years with their blade and saw package. I used to buy one per year just to get the free saws.
Nice tiller. Hope your Thanksgiving was great.
It was and same to you! Hope you had an awesome Turkey day.
Good Evening Stan. Hope you have a awesome Thanksgiving tomorrow. Lime Kirkland sparking water today, hby?
Coca Cola Zero sugar tonight. Got any Thanksgiving Plans tomorrow?
Gee Stan, maybe you should change your name to Dr Power!! Anyway, that is the kind of machine a person could really dig!! Thanks 😊.
I see what you did there. I “dig” your pun haha. 🤣👊👍
Looks good, I'd prob put a truck mud flap on the back of the housing and trailing on the ground to stop all that junk being thrown all over and to mitigate any potential sparks from rock strikes starting a wild fire if in dry conditions.
good call.
I watch your videos cause the wife won't let me buy all that equipment. But still, doesn't stop me from window shopping and sending her pics of Full sized excavators in transport on my way to work lol.
Love it! You and I are in the same boat. My next purchase is either another loader for winter or a excavator for next year. so many cool man toys out there and they all pay for themselves in some way.
@@Dirtmonkey exactly. I want a snow blower for what snow we get but the wife looking at me like I don't have the money lol. So glad to see your videos
I like the idea of these since my older deere 420 n3eds the power take off and tiller which are way over 4000 used
great video! always excited when I see a Dirt Monkey video pop up!
Hope you enjoyed it!
That looks like a good tiller for a larger piecel of property.
Yeah it’s a perfect fit for something like that.
Releived the unit didn't fall off the cinder block when you were running the tines on your knees. It would have headed straight for you bro. Cheers 🇨🇦
yeah- instantly not good.
I think they need to add rubber flaps
Get some big rig mud flaps and cut one in half and bolt it to the back of the guard.
Another interesting video!
oh yeah- that would really make sense- keep everything from flying all over.
It definitely needs some more guards for the battery and to keep dirt from flying out so far.
agreed- that would make it safer
Now that you tilled up the debris, you need one of them there DR power rakes to make it more pretty.
Yes- I sure do!
11:00 some one should buy the gator sockets or the adjustable multi size wrench from as seen on tv, like the ratcheting pliers
I have them- they never get used and I don't even know where they are most of the time.
Are y'all starting to get snow yet? Over here Michigan I've seen some snow already
Up north we got 8-12". but not much around here
Top heavy for sure.
I thought so by the looks but it wasn't. That weight helps to plant it into the ground. It didn't give me a sketchy tip over feeling.
Something tells me this wasnt filmed in true secession. Long green grass, shorts, and tee shirt. Doesn't seem like end of November apparel lol. Good video. Hope you guys had success hunting. I haven't.
I filmed this in September. We are slow on the Editing.
15:39. great camera angle can't wait to watch the rest of the video on faces of death. sweet bejeezus stan it's amazing you made it this long in life with out killing/grievously wounding yourself. you are the eaxct person all these damn warning labels and safety switched were mandated by congress to be installed! thanks buddy GRRRRRRR!!!!
😂 I can't argue with you on that one.
I'd run wires from the tow vehicle to the back of it then use a on off switch to keep the battery up
Looks like to me that the 4 wheeler may be to fast for a garden but may be fine for a lo- till food plot for deer
Almost perfect for that
Where in the hell did you get that gas can that has got to be the best gas can for a homeowner I have ever seen
its a sure can- they are around a lot of places but kind of spendy.
Nice demo with the DR tiller Stanley. Would it be possible to demo a DR stump grinder for us cedar savages? I been diggin mine out by hand and it’s a real chore.
Good suggestion. That may be possible
Rotory tiller are badass. Got a 4 ft for my compact tlb and I tell you what, 540rpms minimum and it'll work wonders on dirt. It's like a power rakes little cousin that only plays in the dirt instead of packed gravel. Great for a food plot. Just remember to take it slow
This thing was like an angry little beaver.
@@Dirtmonkey my first comment was before I saw it in action. Tillers are great. I'm actually talking to the wife about a 6ft-8ft tilled barrier so I can burn black berry bush's. Plus it's easier to move dirt too once you hit it like 3x.
@@Dirtmonkey maybe they should sell it through Duluth Trading Co.
Do you realize how lucky you were, when you laid in front of the unit, sitting on a concrete block with the tines engaged. If the tongue fell off the block it would have ran right over you. You could have been fertilizer for the food plot.
I didn't realize that in the moment.
I got to be honest I like this tiller but I’m on the fence. As a homeowner I could make use of it for filling my garden or some other uses. Then again I’d only use it maybe two to three times a year unless I could put it to work in some way to make money for me. If I could I would like to see counter rotating tines on the unit and something to where I could pull the unit to my right or left side like their brush cutters.
I'm with you. Those both would be handy features but Im guessing expensive as well.
Yes like the videos
Glad you enjoy them! Thanks
hello Stan sorry to be late but how are you...WOW it's my 3rd-4th day asking how you are lol
Im doing great. How are you today?
Haha we love it when you read to us haha.
🤣👊. You are easily entertained then haha.
