This is the recipe that explains the most. How long to cook and bake. Other recipes leave you guessing. Please don’t skip the cooking part. It does not taste the same at all. Mine is baking in the oven for the new year. This recipe was very helpful
I am so thrilled to find this! My husband is Haitian and has raved for years about his mom's pain patate. I can't wait for a day when he'll be out of the house for 4 or 5 hours and I can surprise him. Thank you for your thorough and methodical explanation. So excited!!!!!
I'm soooooo happy I came across your channel!!! I made your lasagna last night and will definitely make this recipe next. Thank you for sharing your great cooking!!!
I hate raisins but i never thought to soak it in alcohol and maybe blending them to a mush and then adding to recipe. Thanks for that idea. I have no idea where to find a white sweet potato here in south Carolina tho. Food looks good.
Very yanmmi manmmi, and very well done. I hope the Lord continues to bless and protect you to make more videos and may the Lord Jesus Christ shines blessings into your life and your business as well as your family. Remain bless. Shalom shalom.
I made this last night, not from your recipe, I am a bit disappointed again. I am here to see your version. Off the bat, I did not grate on the large side as you did. Watching & learning.
Not criticizing, other recipes/versions have lime zest in theirs. I've seen you use lime zest in your other recipes. Just asking. I want to adapt this recipe for my IG letssipsomesabbath tea & I think I'll soak the raisins in some tea instead. At some point I want my subscribers to know that I am Haitian. I will be using the Pain Patate I made already to introduce them to that fact. Thank-you. I'll make your version with my tweaks next week. I also seep some star anise _ I put in too many with the tea.
You may add the lime zest or not, its totally up to the individual. When making a dish, I am more concerns with the the final result. Does it have an authentic taste to the original recipe!
@@dorannette26 Girl I made 3 puddings, one without boiling it first an it was OK. Then I tried your recipe using liquid stevia (80 drops to substitute 100g of sugar), it was very good the only difference is the lighter color in the inside comparing to the last one I made using brown sugar. Thank you!
sansann2412 ....at my local supermarkets it’s called boniato, I guess it depends on where a person is from, Jamaica call it sweet potatoe, we call it patat.

stephanie delcid ...awesome
Hello chef Anette, if I am doing more than one potato do I need to use two carnations milk and two coconuts milk? Thanks.
It all depends on the size of the sweet potato. I would start with one and add more if needed.
Hello, love and enjoy watching your videos!♥️ Where can I find the recipe for this?
Thanks, Not sure ! I don’t have a written recipe.
Depi m like yon vidéo se paske l bon m'en ou te supposé montre moun yo kote ou ap koupe l .congradualation

@@dorannette26 Agree.
Can I use the sweet potato with the yellow on the inside ?
No, It won’t have the pain patate taste
Well that’s all I have 😭 I’ll have to deal with it for now. Next time I’ll get the correct sweet potato.
Can I do it with stevia instead of brown sugar?
I am not sure because brown sugar has molasses which gives it flavor. I would add some molasses along with the stevia. Let me know if that works
@@dorannette26 Is there a big difference if I skin the boiling part and just cook it in the oven? Bagay sa boule twop gas lol
Chamika Bernadeau ..lol no you can’t skip boiling it

Can you list the ingredients below with measurements please?
I didn’t use measurements, I eyeball the ingredients.
Oh the banana then i officially it. Disregard my earlier comment except for grating not shredding.
You can grate or shred it no big deal! It boils down to your preference!
Is it okay to leave out the mashed banana?
I have always used the banana..but I believe it should be ok
They call it “ Batata” at the supermarket
sansann2412 ....at my local supermarkets it’s called boniato, I guess it depends on where a person is from, Jamaica call it sweet potatoe, we call it patat.
When I make this I add a little rum in it 😅😂😂
What happened to the bannanas and ginger. I guess everyone does something different.
I added the banana & ginger, it’s the traditional way of making it! However, it’s not a must!
Can you please give me the ingredients ?
white sweet potato
evaporated milk
coconut milk
ground cinnamon
ground nutmeg
salt
light brown sugar
pure vanilla extract
raisins
Butter
@@dorannette26 thanks I am going to make this weekend
I need the recipe
Stephane Cajuste ....unfortunately I don’t have a recipe, I was taught to eyeball the measurements.
That’s fine I’m attempting it now
