    Don't forget to turn off your power to the water heater (if electric), because if it were to automatically switch on somehow, then without water it could burn out an element. More than likely it wouldn't switch on but better tafe than sorry. Leave off until the water has been restored and the hot water lines are running freely indicating that the tank has refilled (if it drained).

      good idea....most water heaters fill from the bottom and draw from the top..so thats a safety concern but usually it wont be a problem..

    When cutting drywall with my oscillating tool, I like to use a curved blade or a blade that is 2" wide. A really dull blade won't even cut the poly! By far the best tool for the job.

    Hi Teacher I love the way you work thru all of your projects. I wish I can hire you to do my bath remodeling now. I am in Houston, Texas and I would like to hire someone who is as good as you are to do my tub to shower conversion. Can you recommend someone who lives in my area to do my project?

    Very nice job, love the shower. Makes the shower area look larger, I plan on converting my tub/shower combo to a walk in shower, it is much safer that climbing into the shower.

    How much do you charge for a project like this? And I prefer to add the glass partition as well, instead of just the curtain.

    Very nice video! Man, I wish the tub drains I have encountered came out as easily as that one did. They can be obnoxious!

    • @jlilly8144

      You also need to be careful trying to remove one. I did mine yesterday due to a leak and it wasn't what I thought it should be. Got the drain removal tool, started turning it and it just spun and spun, never coming out. I noticed there appeared to be a nut in the middle of it with a hole in the middle. Well, come to find out it's a Geberit brand from the 80's. Remove that middle bolt and then you can pull the drain out. Could not find a replacement so had to reuse that until I can do the tub removal/walk in shower.

    Hello! Thank you very much for the video! Do you think that if the house only has one bathroom, would it add value to the house by removing the tub shower and transforming it to Walk-in Shower?

    • @banksiasong
      @banksiasong 7 місяців тому

      I am only a buyer, and absolutely prefer a walk-in shower to a tub in a one wet room situation.
      Tubs popular with young romantics and families with very young children, walk-ins for every one else, and especially those with age or mobility issues.

    • @peteniermeyer8558

      Be careful, most places have codes that prohibit removing the only tub. Here in Illinois, code dictates at least one tub per dwelling.

    Point of Order. Why not install shut off for entire bathroom so rest of house can go on? I have a major remodel of Bevis and Butte head do construction and why no valves on nearly any sink or such is what really fried me about this house my late sister bought. No Bleep valves so every problem means shutting of water entirely!

      Always install shutoff valves. Saves for future headaches be it you or the next guy.

      Maybe some day. Not too many opportunities for that here. Not exactly sure the main difference is in many ways…maybe the framing used?

    I would recommend leaving that mask on after you cut the fiberglass surround at least until you get the whole thing removed. Those particles don't magically disappear when the blade stops moving!
