The last CD I bought before I left Australia in 1999. This takes me back to great times, great people. As others have said, this guy is a genius. The whole album is brilliant.

From sneaking into the Coogee Bay Hotel underage when he started out to being just as excited to catch him at the Annandale in Sydney on Nov 3, 2012 and the countless venues I have seen him at in between....it has always been clear that Mark Lizotte oozes talent and is a true artist of his time....he has the rare gift of the musical midas touch...all he does is...has always been...and will always be pure GOLD!!!... I feel blessed that I haven't missed a moment of the career of a true legend!!!!
As I was listening to this song, it also occurred to me that the bass playing was excellent as well. No surprise to then read that he played the bass on the entire album. Is there no end to this man's talents ?
I still absoutely love this song and I still go through stages of my life of listening to it repetitvely. I am in one of those stages at the moment. I dreamt that Mark Lizotte was on an island singing this song to me and then I woke up and haven't stopped listening to this song in a week.
I am glad to know I am not the only person who loves this tune which always felt a bit under appreciated. Some of those high notes are tough to hit and he always does an admirable job live with it, but this song really needs background singers in the chorus to give that high "dig" a bit more kick live. Great tune not matter what.
